  1. Hello, I'm commander necro, and this is my favourite post on the nexus
  2. Did you come up with a fix for it?
  3. So, your mod is closing on it's 1 year WIP anniversary, do you have any idea when the mod will be available? I'm not saying it to pressure you or anything since you have done loads of work already, but because I'm going to take a break from FO4, but I would come back just for this mod. That's why I'm asking. Cheers for your work and keep it coming :D
  4. Instead of doing it yourself and adding it to the mod, you could direct players to Unbogus Health Ranges for that. It's a very well done mod, and since this is a weapon replacement mod you can end up with mod conflicts by adding the damage scaling into it. Also, how are we doing on progress, what's left? I've been away from the FO4 community for a while so I didn't keep up with your progress. Although you seem to be doing very well, congrats ^^
  5. The base idea is asset theft(if you want to call it that way) some of the assets that are used are from other games, taken without the consent of the original developers. Think of it this way, if some rich merchant sold stolen merchandise and offered or asked you if you could polish some stolen jewelry because you are a manufacturer of that sort of item, would you do it? Idlesheep and his mod Modern Firearms are seen as some sort of pariah in the modding community of FO4, since when it was discovered it was during the whole Beth.net disaster, where users were ripping mods off Nexus and porting them to consoles without any considerations to the original mod makers. Although he wasn't using modders, but game studio developer's resources, he is frowned upon by most of the serious modders. None of the animators of texturers will want to be related with him(and I can't blame them), not just because he stole assets, but because the game studio could file a lawsuit against idlesheep and the other modders working on that mod. That sums up the situation more or less.
  6. Whenever I approach certain creatures that are going through the hidden to aggro phase(ghouls crawling from behind crates, stingwings attached to walls and hatching mirelurks for now), Fallout will freeze(0% CPU usage, 0% Disk usage) unless I wait for them to be in full aggro before shooting, which pretty much ruins the whole stealth gameplay and sometimes even if they are in full aggro the game will crash. I'm thinking it may be Arbitration's stealth dynamics, but I'm not sure if I'll break my save by uninstalling it. Load order: Thanks in advance. EDIT: Happens with Mirelurks popping from the ground as well. Gulpers at the begining of far harbor as well. I think it's with the "ambush" mechanic these creatures have that is malfunctioning. Any help will be appreciated.
  7. [update #3]: Talked to VAFS's creator and ruled out the posibility that it was his mod. Other candidates for being responsible for the freezing may be Arbitrator or Unbogus, since they are the ones that touch almost every aspect NPC wise. Any pointers would be appreciated
  8. [update]: I've disabled VAFS HUDframework crit meter through it's in game menu, saved and reloaded again to get rid of the crit meter. Tried the same encounter that was giving me issues and it seems to be working fine. I'm not giving the issue for resolved yet. I need more time to test it, but if the freezing won't pop in my next two gameplay hours I'll give it for solved and finish the thread. [update #2]: Happened again with a mirelurk around 5 hours later. Same script popped up before the game crashed according to the papyrus log. I don't want to blame the VAFS mod directly because it works great otherwise. Maybe it's another mod that can't handle ambush events correctly?
  9. Whenever I approach certain creatures that are going through the hidden to aggro phase(newly appearing ghouls, stingwings and hatching mirelurks for now), Fallout will freeze(0% CPU usage, 0% Disk usage) unless I wait for them to be in full aggro before shooting, which pretty much ruins the whole stealth gameplay. Any tips? I've enabled papyrus logs and this particular script seems to appear always just before the game crashes. I think it may be related to the VAFS mod, but I can't be sure since I don't know much about papyrus scripting. Any help would be appreciated. Load order: I'm thinking it may be related to the crit counter enabled through HUD framework, so I'm going to try and disable it. I'll keep posting any useful info. Thanks in advance. EDIT: Happens with Mirelurks popping from the ground as well.
  10. Never mind, I saw what happened, Scopes Be Gone was made for a different game version(1.05) that I'm on(1.09), so the gun stats have been shuffled a bit.
  11. As I said in the title, whenever I launch the game with Frosty Mod Manager, the game shuffles the sniper rifle stats. For example, the Raptor has the Naladen's stats and the Widow has the Raptor's stats. But when I launch the game normally, the stats go back to what they should be. Has anyone else experienced something like this? I have no mods that directly affect weapon stats, they are all cosmetic changes. I'll post a list of the mods. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this thing? I'm thinking maybe an author mistakenly left an old weapon stat file inside one of the files. How can I check for that?
  12. Hey, antistar, for the AR 15 drums, I found something you might want to have a look at. I found it a while ago and I saw Hitman's video using those old school C-mags and thought you might be interested:
  13. In response to post #46506580. #46509140 is also a reply to the same post. I'm... not sure if I you are saying I'm right, just quoting or...
  14. I believe this comment from jim_uk deserves a highlight and a separate comment response I'd like to add something to that last paragraph: The average uninformed user doesn't know how long the process of making a mod is, nor how long does it take to learn how to do it. Let's break down the numbers, shall we? Elianora has 85 mods in Nexus right now. Let's put that a mod takes around 36 hours to put together (6 hours over 6 days) I know this is way lower than the actual number, but let's go along with it just for the sake of it. That equals to 3060 hours she has spent creating FREE content for users who may or may not appreciate her work, which is more time than most users even have in any game. Now lets say that each of those mods get around 500 posts(the real number is higher) and that 30% of those comments are users that either have a particular request for you to change the mod in some way they like or report that their mod is not working properly for some reason. These last ones, sometimes instead of searching on the internet the causes of why it could have failed, which are very common and have a really easy line of troubleshooting and solving, they just decide to post "It doesn't work/It CTD's(and it's your fault)"). That's about 165 people that tell you to change what you have worked on for 36 hours just because they either don't like or don't know how it works, and 14000 people on your overall work of 3000 hours. Now, with the numbers made, I don't think anyone could blame her for being "not nice" and/or blocking some comments that say directly "I don't like your attitude", because she doesn't have any responsability to take those comments. This isn't a social network, this is a sharing network. Also, with the numbers in hand, if you had followed troubleshooting guides, studied your stuff on how to fix it and you couldn't fix it or if you had a request you tried to do it and couldn't do it and posted it in the comment section and the comment was ignored, sorry buddy, you were the needle in the haystack. Finally, I have enjoyed Elianora's work for years now and I have been inspired by her dedication to create my own content. I have never known her for being rude or ill mannered, and it shows in that almost every major mod created in the FO4 and Skyrim has her credited as helping the mod creator. I and many other members of the community love what she is and has been(for years) doing, which is SHARING quality content to any user that wants it. Best of luck to you in the interview Elianora.
  15. I stand corrected, I haven't played FO2, my interior gun nerd took over for a second there. Anyway, G11 is a tall order regardless. Weapons in FO4 rely on customization and modularity which is the point in which the G11 suffers. It was a prototype, that means any and all kinds of changes in the weapon were final and internal, mechanism oriented. If antistar were to implement this weapon there wouldn't be a lot of room in the appearance customization realm(maybe color, scopes and maybe a foregrip) and it would need some creativity because there was never any real customization for a gun that didn't come out of the prototype phase. Additionally I quote antistar on his complaint about some of the vanilla weapons: This is my issue with the weapon, I'm not bashing your idea because I don't like the weapon(which I do, the concept of the caseless ammo is thoroughly amusing). It's just that it isn't convincing as a real day-to-day weapon, which is, I think, the purpose of the mod.
  16. G11? I'm sorry, but that gun didn't even come out of the prototype phase, even though they tried to fit it in the ACR program in 1990. And they are still trying to develop a working, reliable prototype for caseless ammunition. I mean, you could argue LSAT have, but we are still years away. I'd say that a HK21 would be more lore friendly to this time period. The Aug, would be a good choice, though(they would have to decide between the A1-A2-A3 model). A good weapon based off my experience in the range
  17. Ok, to anyone having this Issue, it appears to be an issue with the deferred tiled lighting calculation on some older GPUs(I have a GTX 750TI) and it generates a whole array of issues that can show in several forms. To solve it change bComputeShaderDeferredTiledLighting=1 to 0 in the fallout4prefs.ini file inside your Documents/My Games/Fallout4 folder.
  18. Ok, so I have modded my fallout a lot, mainly with weaponry and armors. Also I've installed Darker Nights, True Storms, Raider Overhaul and Better Supermutants. I have been playing for quite a while(in survival mode, so no old saves) and I've had a very stable game. That is until I ran into a CTD while getting close to the satellite array from "The Lost Patrol BOS" quest. I tried some stuff but nothing would work, so I jumped stage to go to the bunker and finished the quest. Now yesterday I ran into another CTD while traveling through Boston city, right by Trinity Tower. I've tried to avoid the area by going North-West the other street by the church but it stilldoes CTD. As these two locations usually have Supermutants in them I assumed the problem was the mod, so I disabled it in NMM. But when I went and loaded again it would still crash in that area. Could it be another mod? I've seen some people talking about waiting several days so that the cell resets(In case it's the Supermutants mod), but I'd like to know if it could be something like a bloated save(the fact that Survival always overwrites instead of letting you save regularly... It would bloat a save in Skyrim IIRC) any other ideas? I'll post my load order later when I get home
  19. Did that already before posting, no difference. Any other suggestions?
  20. I have installed several DLC mods using the correct version of the DLC Patcher using both .dll files and putting their respective DLC_COM folders in the correct place, but there is no impact in the game, and nothing new has shown up. I have tried to activate the Hair Mod as DLC by changing up my save file using Gibbed's tool (this is the official way to use the mod as stated by the author), and the game crashes every time I try to use that save. Other mods like Femshep's Armory or Femshep's closet have proven not to work either. For what I can guess, I think that for some reason my game is unable to read the DLC mods, thus having no impact in-game and as for the Hair mod, because it can't find the resources the save file is asking for, the game crashes. Does anyone have an idea why? I would very much appreciate the insight on what could have gone wrong. Thank you in advance.
  21. In response to post #39469990. #39471310, #39471555, #39471980, #39472855, #39473705, #39473890, #39473975, #39474085, #39480980 are all replies on the same post. What does it matter if the thief uses one platform or another? Also, the problem is NOT bethnet's layout, what gave you that idea? The problem is their moderation of the site. Lastly, the "blaming" of console users isn't about WANTING the mods, is about some console users ENCOURAGING thiefs to steal more mod author's works. On an ending note, I despise the toxicity of the gaming comunity between a portion(just a portion) of the console community and the so called PC Masterrace(not ALL PC users), which onlys seems to bring more problems to the table than solving them
  22. In response to post #39479635. #39479960 is also a reply to the same post. God, you don't know how many times I have said that last sentence: :P
  23. In response to post #39478620. #39478950, #39478990, #39479360, #39481460, #39481565, #39482090, #39482190, #39482470, #39482645 are all replies on the same post. What do you mean by "things start getting too complex"? Also, being in charge of a website and releasing a statement to the comunity explaining the issue it has been having recently and explaining the small changes are going to be happening to the website so as to benefit the whole comunity is NOT drama. It's called being responsible towards your community. Judging by your profile, no file pictures added, 0 endorsements, 7 posts, etc. I'd say that you are on nexus only to see what you can get from this community, which is absolutely fine, you are in your right to do so and it's within the guidelines of the community. But the fact that you say that this post will divide a community in which you have not taken any part... is naïve. Correcting your statement, this comunity does owe Dark0ne something, which is the ability to share content between ourselves so as to enjoy it. He is entitled to his own opinion and on his right to be the one to inform the community on which steps the website is going to take to prevent a very serious issue that affects it which is intellectual property theft. If you think that trying to protect property from authors whose work you have been enjoying for eight years is "too much of a hassle" for you, then you can, as your said, pack your f*#@ing s#*! and go.
