  1. As someone playing on a laptop I've noticed my Asus can run Oldrim, but not SSE, despite them looking pretty much the same. Of course SSE supposedly is better for higher end machines, but I wound up going with Oldrim for the greater amount of mods and extra content.
  2. I too would like to join my voice to these thanks. I remember buying the original Skyrim on launch, playing it for maybe a few days until I'd gone through the principal quests before moving onto other games. Now that I move around a lot more and am reliant on a laptop however, I'm unable to play the newer games I've bought, so having downloaded Skyrim again and modding it to the gills has given it a breath of life and made it an absolutely brilliant experience. In no other game can I imagine hearing the snow crunch around my feet as I try and survive the blizzards of the Pale, aiming to bring down that deer whose paw prints I am using to track it lest I starve to death. So thank you lads and lasses!
  3. Turn on Frostfall, iNeed, Campfire and a few ENB's to make the world of Skyrim darker and improve sound effects. Head north past Winterhold to the ice shelves at night. Listen to the ice shift all around you, whilst howls of ice wolves, trolls and wraiths can be heard approaching...
  4. Really the Tribunal were the heart and soul of the problem in Morrowind. Of course the fact this is not outright stated is what made the game utterly brilliant... back when I played it like... ten years ago? :D
  5. It really doesn't matter. Skyrim and Elder Scrolls games in general place very little emphasis on what you are at the beginning of the game, and a lot more on who you end up being. Despite races like Bosmer, Argonians and Furries having a bit of an easier time as an assassin at game start, long term their benefits will avail you very little. I've had a blast playing as Nord and Orc rogues & mages, despite them being 'warrior' races so just think of a cool backstory and pick a character look you enjoy the most.
  6. I sided with the Stormcloaks. Not only did I find them to be at least a tad more sympathetic than the Imperials, I have to admit the political realist in me found them to be a better horse to bet on in the long term. The Mede Empire is not going to survive without propping up regardless of what you do in Skyrim, and has shown no proof of being able to challenge the Thalmor. The men on the ground might have the willingness, but those are the very same men that got utterly whipped in the last war, and with the politics of the Empire such a mess it's unlikely to matter regardless. The political elites of Cyrodil have shown they're quite willing to throw their provinces under the bus and are not worthy of their loyalty. So yeah... Age of Oppression is just about done!
