  1. Well, it is not a connection issue as your test was successful. The problem seems to be more related to the content of the database. To narrow it a bit down some questions: Was it the backup of the original database or a backup of yours which you have restored? Could you have missed somehow to tick the option 'override existing database' when you restored the database? Guided by the video you have created first an empty database...Did you check the table structure after the restoration? Just to exclude the trivialities... What happens when you click 'Yes'?
  2. I remember that there had been a similiar thread on the old BSN. You can find considerations on the topic and how to approach now here: http://fextralife.com/forums/t145753/creating-taller-elves-through-3ds-max/
  3. To put in my 2 cents: I´d suggest by making use of the hierarchy system. She could work in her own module with your module in the hierarchy. You can assign new stringIds during the import of her ressources. Anyway, it seems advisable to clarify the dependencies as we have no shared database available with check in/out features. Who should be host/ guest?
  4. The modder of the Zevran morph has not yet released a mop file as he mentions. A .mop file is needed for a preset in the character creator. Features of a preset are more or less fixed. Therefore you could probably not change the hair style or eye color as you would like. But there is a way for your personal use. Certainly you can figure out how to make use of the released mor file for your player character in combination with the face replacer mod.;)
  5. No, the old .wav files are not necessary. Facefx stores data in the .fxe and .fxm files. As you seem to have removed already the old wav files I'd recommend to select only the newly added lines (not the root) before generating voiceover and facefx. This will generate fxe and fxm only for the new lines and update the fsb file. Otherwise placeholder vo would override the existing data.
  6. Thanks for the confirmation that it worked how I thought it should, hardag.
  7. I am glad to hear about your progress. FXA files contain the bone defintions for lip synch and facial animations. Running 'Generate VO' creates already a basic facial animation. The naming convention is [race][gender].fxa, e.g. humanmale.fxa or elffemale.fxa. In the character\global folder you can find several character defintions, 6 for each race and gender.
  8. Unless you want to implement environmental sound and/ or music it should not be necessary to create a FMOD project. I haven´t created a custom soundset before but this is the way I would take: - create a copy from the player_soundset_template - optional: generate vo placeholders for the new dlg in the conversation editor - rename the recorded wav files according to the stringIDs of the lines (mandatory audio format and naming convention see http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/Voice-Over) - optional: replace the placeholders - (re-)run 'generate VO' - output: a fsb file - rename the fsb file, should have a 'ss_' as prefix by convention - optional: preview the fsb file if it includes still any placeholder vo - create a new player character (s. folder global) - map the soundset - map the fxa name override according to the chosen race and gender Finally I would recommend to have a look in the ss_types.xls (folder tools) to get to know more about soundsets ( probability and probability modifiers) and which lines are used in the character creator. It seems that you have done already the major part. Good luck! Feel free to ask if you need more info.
  9. Strangely something similiar happened just to me. The toolset worked well 3 weeks ago - now suddenly I got the 'Unable to connect to the database' error (and even worser I have lost my latest backup file as well). Today I took the time to look into the issue.Your second screenshot indicates that your problem could have a similiar cause. So, here is what I have done to restore from an old (sigh) backup file. You may want to restore from the original back up file in the tools\dbbak folder. http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i416/YaraCousland/bw_dragonage_content.jpg As you can recognize in my screenshot - the database had been corrupted (no more tables). 'Detach' and 'Delete' were still available but failed. Before I could delete the remains of the database I had first to delete the referencing .mdf and .ldf files in the Microsoft SQL Server\...\Data folder (not my original folder). After creating a new empty bw_dragonage_content database I could finally restore my backup. I don´t know if you have SQL Server Management Studio (Express) installed. If so, I would recommend to check your installation for conflicts with existing references. I hope this clue supports you in solving your 'Unable to connect to the database' problem. If not, provide more information on your environment as LadyHonor suggested. (Same environment btw)
  10. I am glad it works now. A User Image? - I would love that. But I have no idea how it could be added. I never have done it myself.
  11. Thanks for the info. I had already identified the string IDs for the everywhere-kiss scene and the in camp kiss scene following those lines. I think I have figured out what went wrong the last time. Meanwhile I have renewed all files and added adjusted animations for scenes with dwarves as well. Please let me know if my approach works now in-game. Version 1.1 is online. There can't be a conflict with any other mod because the mod overrides only facial animations and not cutscenes. But facial animations can not be copied (third party tool - limited ressource management); therefore the fix can not work for custom kiss scenes because the facial animations - if created with facefx generatorf - would have new string IDs unknown to me. This would be valid for the 'Morrigan´s angry kiss' scene of the Morrigan restoration patch as well even if it has been restored from an erf file.
  12. That is exactly what should not happen. It works well in the toolset but I can't test it in-game. For that your feedback is very welcome. I will look into it. Truth is that there are ten different kiss cutscenes per race, all but one very similiar and only with light variations. In-game you will not be able to recognize that there are variations. It would be useful if you would tell me which race you are playing and perhaps the circumstances you have triggered the cutscene. That would reduce the string IDs for further testing. Seems I am depending on your feedback for the in-game part.
  13. Voilà: http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4556/? I made a quick fix for hm and em. Sorry if you are playing a dwarf. Dwarves are neglected again. Solutions for dwarves are just more time-consuming. The fix includes adjusted facial animations. These are only additive but the fix should close her eyes nearly always continuously.
  14. Well, you have asked if it is normal that the cutscene_postcoronation dialogue is empty and I tried to give an explanation. I have never worked with the epilogue resources. Therefore I do not know exactly how the epilogue is composed. You are right: the related cutscenes contain only invalid lines. That still means not much because some resources in the toolset are left over from development and never used in game. I looked further into the issue - and yes, I agree, it is a bit weird. Everything before and after the boon-related scene is very well traceable but not the boon-related part. I could neither find specific text strings in the database nor any other clues. Ended always in a cul-de-sac. I hope someelse can contribute more and solve this riddle. Though I have never again replayed DAO since I have installed the Ultimate Edition I can´t imagine that resources related to this part are missing.
  15. The dialogue contains no more lines because all lines had been converted to cutscenes. Check the properties of the resource (right-click); in the tab Referenced by you will find the list of converted lines.
  16. Ehm, you meant the SQL Server Surface Configuration Manager, Rosvita.
  17. As you have already used CCleaner and limited your search - you can check if it has cleaned up sufficiently the old references before you start re-installing the toolset. Enter 'regedit' into the search field of the windows menu and start the regedit.exe. (Do not worry - you will not edit anything, only search.) Search for 'toolset'. If the search will not show anymore a 'toolset' or 'bwdatoolset' folder or referencing keys to the old installation path or the bwdatoolset instance under hkey_classes_root, Key_current_user, hkey_local the cleanup by the CCleaner should be fine. (Referencing keys under favorites, to folders which you have created with 'toolset' in the name. logs etc, can be ignored.)
  18. No, sorry. OS means Operating System. The remark has no more relevance. Hmh, both - MS SQL Server native Client and MS SQL VSS Writer are configured during the toolset installation. Installation dates from January 2014. I have no idea if these components have been installed by other application setups. Have you already deleted manually the tools folder as Thandal suggested earlier? The search in the tab Registry Cleaner lists only errors in the registry. e.g. entries to DLLs which are already missing on your disk, path information which is not anylonger valid (because some programme deinstallations routines still leave traces in the registry), entries to files which are out of date and not longer used because there are newer file versions or entries for temporary files (installer, MUI cache) It is very unlikely to break your pc when you clean up the registry with the Ccleaner. I have done this often, unlimited. (You have the choice to limit the search for errors to certain types.) When you run 'Nach Fehler suchen' you can still exlude certain matches. (I wouldn´t.) Nevertheless, when you run 'Fehler beheben' you get the opportunity to save these entries before the registry will be cleaned up. What you should always do. They will be exported to a reg file which could be reimported/ merged with the operating registry. Only in case...no software is perfect.
  19. @ Thandal, it would surprise me if rosvitacousland would have overlooked it ;) She told me 'No' in a pm exchange in German. That´s when I came up with the CCleaner as well. I have a suspicion that her installation procedure was not terminated regularly. No entry in the control panel, no SP resources available... Just start cleaning, Rosvita. It can´t get much worser. ;)
  20. A priori it is nearly inpossible to guess which components and in which order to deinstall them. I have a lot of experiences with SQL databases as well but never encountered the necessity to deinstall the server functionality. I would choose (2). By unticking I meant these checkboxes during the toolset installation: http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i416/YaraCousland/checkboxes.jpg Otherwise you will install the SQL Express bundle which is included in the toolset installation package. It will be easier for you to configure the database connection if you will reinstall in the folllowing order: 1. Toolset 2. MS SQL 2005 Express (creating a named instance: BWDATOOLSET instead of a default instance druing the setup) 3. Management Studio After these steps you can create in the Management Studio a new database which you can name bw_dragonage_content. Next follows the restore of the backup of the original database. Which you can locate in your Dragon Age installation path under Dragon Age\tools\dbbak. Just watch the video of DarkAcidBlue where all these steps are covered. It is not the only way to do it. But the video is a good visual guide how to set it up. @Thandal, it may depend on the OS if there is a toolset entry in the control pale or not. Anyway, Rosvita hasn´t.
  21. Please remember that you have installed the Management Studio lately. When you deinstall now the SQL Server components (like Thandal suggested in his second post) then I recommend to reinstall the Management Studio (with SQL Server ) again before you reinstall the Toolset. The Toolset installation package includes the SQL 2005 Server. Untick that during the Toolset installation. Just follow the installation video tutorial (link in the installation document I have send you earlier).
  22. Regarding your edit: I described how to restore the database but I still recommend as well to make a fresh re-installation. You have installed the Management Studio lately but there can´t be a connection yet. The access seems to be locked. Currently you could only try to restore a back up (the orginal bak) as command line. But as I understood you have now manually deleted some files. Try to uninstall and/ or clean the registry with the CCleaner - like Thandal recommended as well.
  23. Definitively a database issue. You can't find the language setting in the toolset; it is a database property. Your issue sounds like the empty palette problem: http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/Installation_troubleshooting#Empty_Palette_Window Check the language setting following the wiki description. (SQL Management Studio or SQL Express required.) Only the language setting for your user name should be English. Don't change the properties for any other logins. German or any other deviation from English as default language works fine for those. (German is my default setting as well) Hopefully the change of the language setting solves your database issue.
