I've been a fan of the Fallout games for quite a number of years now and when "3" came out I was bowled over: a truly amazing game with a tremendous level of depth. I subsequently worked my way through the main story arc and devoured the DLC's as I imagine everyone reading this also did. However, although I was happy playing the PS3 version I always felt I was missing out on a whole other level: the mods. So now, with New Vegas imminent and with the PC version of the game in hand, I'm looking forward to playing through again, but this time using those mods I've been coveting! However, after reading around the subject, it seems the list is almost endless and genuinely quite daunting, particularly for someone who isn't used to PC gaming (music production yes, gaming, no!). But I'm no Luddite, enjoy a challenge and I'm looking forward to getting started...which brings me to my actual question...what mods should I get? On the surface that question seems somewhat daft I know, everyone's tastes are different after all, but let me explain. Fallout 3 really hooked me through it's immersive game-play and environment, it's a world I could easily lose myself in for hours at a time, it's characters, landscapes, cities, items, quests all harmoniously meshing together to create a believable world. Ideally I'd like any mods I get to reflect this...so Star Trek uniforms, Warhammer armour and the like would be a no-no for me! I've been fascinated with the additonal clothing, weaponry, armour and body-types, the new monsters and buildings that have been created, everything that has been done to enhance the gritty, and at times quite adult, post apocalyptic setting. Unfortunately, what I don't know is what mods would be compatible with each other as I imagine there are issues with running several all together? And I would be looking at running quite a few if it's possible. So...if you were me, what would be your recommendations? What would be your top 10 or top 20 Mods that match my criteria (I may have to make one exception regarding the lightsabre mod, lol ;))? Thanks, Friday.
