Ironically enough that during the time of Jefferson not even all "white"males can vote, and I've never really liked Jefferson that much either, but I have to say I don't think the U.S. system in the sense how it's really set up and suppose to work as it is the power holders to blame they are the ones who take what the system is an turn it with their politics. To me the system is awesome on paper, but there is still the incalculable human error to think about. If I remember my U.S. history(I hope I do) for awhile I think after Madison somewhere a long early the President was voted not to be the President, but to be later voted on by a council of others who were voted in to vote for President and then lose got vice president. Although I may be totally wrong. I can basically agree. If a governmental system doesn't work quite right (argued out in a reasonable way), then it must be adapted to work (again argued out in a reasonable way). Good thing we can adjust the Constitution to the current needs.

It depends on the issue, with this so vague it's indeed hard to decide and depends if I want to stay in power or side with a minority that might have the right thing to do.

As a American I can say as a child you're instilled with the of pursuit of happiness and seems to be as you grow up is the big ideal they push into your head. This seems to in sense what every American holds as an ideal to go out and make something of yourself and your family. Really this is the only thing we can all agree upon. Everything else depends on the vast variables of growing up in a part of the United States, but don't be narrow and limit to regions as family has a great influence on one's own views.

spoiler "Being a Warden is NOT a Punishment..."

IMHO you can only make a real decision if you know exactly what is in for you beforehand and if you actually have a real choice. "You can die here and now or become a Grey Warden" is not a real choice IMO, as it leaves you in the same position as Loghain was, when he was to be recruited. Jory obviously didn't know about the consequences, and my PC wasn't told either. Alistair even admitted at some point, that the Grey Wardens basically lure people into membership by betraying them or at least not telling them the truth. I for one had the strong urge to just kill Duncan when the Joining took place...and even more so, after I was told the consequences of being a Grey Warden by Alistair. Basically you are voluntered to be canonfodder, and I have a hard time to see that as an honor. Yet you know the order is well respected vanguard against the darkspawn and even knights find fighting them tough so you're taking a risk in willingly to join and fight for them. Now the joining you aren't really told about which I'll agree not being told for everything you're in for,but you know you're taking a risk of self sacrifice to fight these creatures to begin with and especially if you're joining during a blight, -

Why is it called "Dragon Age: Origins"?

I'm glad my thoughts actually made sense, usually when I try to condense a thought that I can write vastly about It's tough for me to catch everything and convert it to a shorter piece of writing. -

I think of it as a sacrifice for the greater good. You willing give up a normal life and lifespan to be the vanguard of humanity(figurative humanity) and defend it from a possible real threat. Think of it in the sense of Thermopylae for the Spartans that were the considered "vanguard" that held off or defended long enough for the majority more of City States to join against the Persians.Knowing full well that they will die,but they're going to give them hell the whole time. So maybe not the best analogy for it but you get the picture. As it turns out like Ser Jory who wimps out at the last second wasting of what could of been another man to stem the tide of the blight(although he sucks anyways) some are not willing to make that sacrifice. Although I think Daventh makes that pretty clear shortly before the ritual. -
Foreshadowing. Until I completed the game I always wonder what it was going to be about, but now playing the game and seeing about the dark ritual and that the guardian spirit was asking some deep decisions that we made and how we felt. To me this just seemed like some foreshadowing of what Morrigan was planning to do knowing she was going to do and spirit seeing this was going ask about as it was causing major internal conflict, which was the stuff he was asking are these great eternal conflicts within the characters. At last though I'm really bad at seeing intended literary elements until pondering at a later time.

Well why thank you for the complement on my English grammar, even though I've always thought it was bad. I am in process of sorta teaching myself German on the side so should be interesting to grasp this language. I just know trying to speak it is going to be a nightmare for me. -
Well if you decide to kill Conner she pleas with you to not, but, that lady annoyed the ever living crap out of me,and put more innocent people in danger and partly at fault for causing most of the mess. So you can actually punch her the face. Doing that my first play through finding it weirdly satisfying to give her a punch always thinking she deserved it and had it coming.

Zweihaender=Kraft Ich nicht spreche deutsch(?) Anyhow yeah I don't speak German it's how the company named it or it might be Zwei Handers that jargon of the name usually has the words together, but the translation it is suppose to mean is "two handed" which is obvious with the word "zwei" meaning 2 which is as much I really know.Example -

SPOILERS possible Part of me thinks that, but another part of me thinks that our wardens are going to be involved for one heck of a tale. I mean the "Origin" of the hero, this is sometimes very common in stories that traverse many books. Awakening is the continuation of such Origin leading in to the end of the begging of the tale, naturally one can suspect that maybe this franchise will be centered on said Grey Warden. Though many argue and I have to a degree agree that maybe our warden tale is done, and they only played the central role of a bigger story to come and next game is a continuation from the events caused by said Warden, and there is a new character to fill a central role of the bigger picture. While I feel my Warden's tale is not over and needs some closure, but we need to be ready to face that maybe in grand scheme our Warden is just one of many protagonists to come. Imo I feel that Morrigan is really the only other character with her "loop hole" that really progresses the story and sets the stage for what is beyond the "Origin"/"Begging" of an epic story that will from chain events have a real major impact. Just sooo many directions the writers will take from here hard to tell, but to tell a story you must first start with a begging tale like all great tales do,and that's why it is called "ORIGINS" -

I prefer dw. Something about me and charging into battle with 2 weapons(prefer swords) is just always awesome, that and I love big aoe numbers. Although I have a special place for 2h in my heart too. Back when I adventively played M2TW and choosing Holy Roman Empire I loved seeing my zweihanders(2h swordsmen) in their gothic plate armor charging into battle with their swords over their head and pwning the kids, but I've had many enjoyable moments more than with my 2h warrior. I'm also not too thrilled with the swinging animation of the 2h weapons the way it is swung doesn't look to great to me something about it is just very off for me. -
spoiler What is your opinion of the Chantry...
Coous replied to SpellAndShield's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
Well I haven't really read any of the other pages so I might be out of the loop of what's been discussed. If you haven't notice or know little of history the chantry represents and very much based of the Medieval Catholic church, and the way the organization treats mages and magic in general is very parallel to the historical church of old when it comes to science. So much the mages and magic can do if they were allowed some freedoms and the advancements they could bring are unimaginable, but the Chantry holds back development and keeps a tight noose around such and fears being toppled by the great power mages can bring. Like science in the late medieval period and Renaissance Europe science was persecuted and put down what can bring changes that can be very beneficial and developments of the world. If you recall at Ostagar during the battle planing a mage is willing to offer a solution via magic to alert Loghain to charge, but the chantry priest persecution and "teachings" makes her unwilling to do such even though obviously it might of been better more men would have been station to fight and not at the tower that wouldn't have died in a sneak attack. The chantry in game though is a great thing to have and really makes the world of DA more realistic. It would be inserting to if in future title there is a schism once more in the Thedas religion and a more protestant reform based event would happen. Sorry if this is a little cryptic not really great at explaining wholly without making it pages long on all the comparison, but I encourage to start seeing the game in its real world counterparts as it really opens up deeper I think. -
edit: Well I downloaded Frostmourne from that site and it *SNIP*,
