  1. This topic has been an interesting read, I really enjoyed @Daedthr's posts, full of reason and interesting links. me like. As for myself, I struggle with understanding American police culture. I live in Norway, our police do not carry arms, yet it is estimated that about 1/3 of the population have weapons (I come from an area with a lot of hunting myself, and there pretty much everyone has a rifle or two). Having seen many of the videos that have surfaced in the past few years, I genuinely feel sorry for the US police. It seems that in many states/districts violence towars the perpetrator is not only acceptable, but it is the only way the police know how to deal with them (note: I am basing this on things I have seen and read about online, and have never actually spoken to any US police). In Norway, treating people like this, and I don't mean shooting some man who you feel is threatening you, but beating up or throwing people onto the ground after they have been restrained, it is TOTALLY FRAKING UNACCEPTABLE. Police here are taught several techniques on how to de-escalate a bad situation, and not to react with violence at all. There is a big difference between our two countries here. This link is the most popluar youtube video about Norwegian police: https://youtu.be/Cd8ZTKU8csw Not exactly scary, is it?
  2. Having perused the previous comments, I am going to reply to the topic only. If you are going to call them Islamic Terrorists, you will have to call Anders behring breivik a Christian terrorist and Timothy mcVeigh an Anti-Government terrorist. It is pointless. An asshole is an asshole, no matter what gender, race, ethinicity, culture or religion.
  3. There are pros and cons, and I don't think we've seen the end of this debate. Enjoying mods a lot, I have no problems paying for them. I am a user only, not a creator, simply because I don't have the time. Which is why I love the ones who do. On the other hand, paid mods is a slippery slope community-wise, seeing as how everything on the internet gets polarized so quickly and the amount of trolls and whiners out there are staggering, and I have no illusions when it comes to large corporations. When something becomes about more bout money than love for what you do... well, you know. I can only do my little bit in all of this, and have decided from now on to donate whenever there is a donate-button, and endorse if I like it. As a member of this community and a user of mods, I would like to that whatever effect I have here, is a positive one. Credit where credit is due, and all that.
  4. As an accomplished lurker, I'd like to pledge donations as well. I appreciate the work done by creator SO MUCH and there is nothing standing in the way of me expressing that with some real money. I'm doing a fresh start in Skyrim this week, so all the mods I re-download will be getting a little something.
