  1. Three dots where, in the app? I can't open the app to get to the dots. As soon as I click on it, this error message pops up. Glad to know I won't lose anything, sounds like I may have to go that route.
  2. I was playing Fallout 4 earlier, shut the game off to run errands, came back later, and now when I try to open Vortex I get the same Uncaught Exception others have received. I already tried Microsoft Visual C++, I did the top one, x86, hopefully that was the right one because it doesn't indicate anything. Am I supposed to do all three files, x84, x64, and ARM64? If I have to delete and reinstall Vortex, am I going to lose all my mods? 3. EDIT: Since I am a save freak, I went through and loaded several save files until I was able to find one that allowed me to do the stuff that kept crashing the game. I found one where I lose only 3 hours of gameplay. Question is, if I don't mess with the mods any further, is there at least a decent chance this save file can work for me? Or is a total wipe and restart really my only option? I did not realize this, I was going off what I've been told for years of playing modded FO4 on the Xbox. I am brand new to modding PC games. So the only way to fix this is to yet again erase my entire progress and start all over again like usual? How exactly do I figure out what mod is causing the problem? Sounds simple, but I'm asking because this wasn't a problem before. Everything was running perfectly fine until randomly it just wasn't, and there wasn't any new mods being installed so I feel it's kind of a delayed thing. Let me ask for a proper way to do this; Am I meant to install 1 or 2 mods at a time, go through the game, install 1 or 2 more, go further into the game, and keep going? I feel doing it this way, I will miss a huge amount of stuff I am meant to do through the mods (certain collectibles, or quests/NPCs found in early areas, etc) so I'm asking if there is a specific way to do this that minimizes the amount of stuff I will miss. Thank you for letting me know about LOOT, I didn't realize it was already part of Vortex so I will get rid of it. EDIT: Is there a proper way to get rid of it so it does not screw anything up, or am I good to just get rid of it period? This was a problem before I tried uninstalling anything. The uninstalling was just a way for me to try and fix the problem
  4. After downloading and having fun with a bunch of mods, the game started crashing while placing stuff in Sanctuary, mostly anything to do with electricity. I could place electrical stuff as long as it isn't powered yet, but the game would crash as soon as I try to shut off something electrical, or try to run a powered cable to something (unpowered cables to unpowered items causes no problem). Sometimes crashes while picking up other items as well but not as common. This problem does not seem to happen in other settlements. -So far I have... Rearranged everything according to where the mods said they should be (though most didn't specify a LO), this didn't do anything. Downloaded LOOT to try and help, but it only rearranged everything to where it was before I adjusted it all, and this also did not solve anything. Shut each mod down individually and restarted the game for each mod, but it crashed each time. And finally, I have every single mod /plugin disabled, but the game still crashes when I try to turn off a generator. Any help getting my game stable again would be appreciated, thank you -Desktop- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900x 12-core CPU Speed: 4.6 GHz GPU: SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 5700 XTGPU RAM: 8gb DDR6Resolution: 2560 x 1440Total RAM: 64gb of DDR4Hard drive free space: 417gb on a fast NVMe SSDWindows 10 Using SteamThe games are installed wherever the system put them, I changed nothing. Run as Administrator isn't an option (even though my account is marked Admin)All DLCUsing VortexNo game construction kit (Would downloading GECK help?)Downloaded and used LOOTI do not believe I am using any gameplay enhancements, but I will put a list of mods.

    ESL vs ESG?

This seems like the right place to ask a Newbie question, what does ESL and ESP mean? I understand the desire to shorten things to make it quicker to type, but that makes it unfriendly for newbies when it's not explained anywhere in the mod what they mean. I keep running into tons of mods with so many different abbreviations in them but no explanation or link to what they are referring to. Is there a thread somewhere that breaks all of them down? EDIT: I meant to put ESP in the title
  6. It's in the Managed list so I assume it is. I was finally able to get the file you suggested to download, but it didn't change anything when I tried playing the game. Did you follow the instructions in the readme that came with the file? I don't see any specific instructions in the read-me file. What am I missing?

  8. Just updated with all my computer information. I downloaded it but Vortex won't install it.
  9. It doesn't work for me. I click that, then click Play on the menu and it closes. Even shows on Steam that the game is closed
  10. I can't get fallout 3 or NV to work on my desktop or Laptop for the same reason. I will attach a photo below. Once I click the "get help online" it downloads Games for Windows Marketplace installer, which fails on both computers due to a network error (this was also the case when I was at a completely different location using different internet). This has happened on my old desktop and my old laptop as well, I can never get PC games to work. What other programs do I need to install before I can play the game I installed through the steam program I installed, while being able to use the mods on Vortex I installed? -Desktop- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900x 12-core CPU Speed: 4.6 GHz GPU: SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 5700 XTGPU RAM: 8gb DDR6Resolution: 2560 x 1440Total RAM: 64gb of DDR4Hard drive free space: 417gb on a fast NVMe SSDWindows 10 -Laptop- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07X8QFYFD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 CPU: Intel i7 CPU Speed: 2.6 GHz GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060GPU RAM: 6gb GDDR6Resolution: 1920 x 1080Total RAM: 32gbHard drive free space: 880gb on a NVMe SSDWindows 10 Using SteamThe games are installed wherever the system put them, I changed nothing. 11. I feel like this is a really dumb question, but when trying to get get this set up with my Steam version of Oblivion, the instructions in OBSE says to "Copy obse_1_2_416.dll, obse_editor_1_2.dll, obse_steam_loader.dll and the Data folder to your Oblivion directory", however there is already a folder named Data in there. Am I in the wrong area? Wouldn't renaming one of them mess something up? Since the game (and OBSE) would both be looking for a specific folder name, Data.
