  1. So having dug up my old copy of JE and decided to try out the Jade Empire In Style mod, but this time I decided I would change the textures a little bit. I've modded Bioware files before (KotOR specifically), so it was quite familiar, but when I launched the game with my new textures, the game displayed them unmodified. Now the JE wikia is pretty much dead, so I thought I'd pop by here and ask if anyone has any suggestions? I solved it, nvm^^
  2. I'll chime in with this: the armour cap is at 567, so that with perks and smithing (flawless, epic, legendary, you know), you can reach the cap while wearing significantly lighter or "worse" armour. Assuming you have the perks, you can couple that with enough enchanting (enhance smithing) and enchanting and smithing potions to reach the armour cap with non-Dragon/Daedric armours.
  3. Is this what you are looking for? Granted, it doesn't just change Flame Blast, Cone of Cold and Shock.
  4. Sorry Thandal :( *adopts a hideous expression of malady and woe* Anyway, back on topic. An alternative? Yeah, I could see that... instead of amping yourself on blood, it'd be much larger amounts of mana through, perhaps, lyrium? All of your spells can be roughly made, though I am not supersure about Persistent Magic. I don't think you can be weak to a certain, single spell, but rather an elemental weakness (the resistances are all divided into elements: cold, electric, fire, nature, spirit) or an overall spell weakness - that would, however, not work in unison with the immunities against Neutralization (anyone got the resistance type and element for that?) and Dispel magic (spirit school).
  5. Oh wow, what wasn't cut? I believe a lot of scenes from the Denerim Gates (farewell) were cut but restored by modders, some items, quests and locations (like Wilhelm's Cottage) were cut and not restored (probably not possible either)... but I think it was mostly just Morrigan dialogue.
  6. Hmm... maybe the Old God Child will do what Sandal the Weirdo Dwarf says: "all the magic will return etc.". Maybe (and seeing how according to Merrill, all Elves were magic users once) all mortal races will become magi. Though personally, I'm more interested in what role Morrigan is bringing up her son. Saviour? Conqueror? Almighty Dragongod of the End of All Things? Average Joe?
  7. So basically, you're looking for an amped up version of Spell Might? With additional effects like speed and new effects... I suppose that wouldn't be impossible to add. Inappropriate remark snipped. Ok, I laughed at your gentle swipe too, but it was wrong to make it. --TNL
  8. Hey Boodrl: have you tried bone weight copying? I usually prefer that over manually weight painting. Hum... there used to be an article on the DANexus site that was very helpful regarding this but uhm... (this is awkward), I can't seem to find it.
  9. Quite true - then again, a lot of guys play female characters simply because they like watching things jiggle and bounce and are busy mentally describing them with words such as "pert", "taut", "buxom", "full" and "glistening". Then there are those, myself included, who sees a game character as an extension of yourself and want him to resemble me or at least the ideal version of me. So I'd totally go for hair like Jared Padalecki in Supernatural.
  10. You could always try PMing the author with the request :) It is generally frowned upon to take someone else's work and port it to another game without permission.
  11. I personally don't see how people find DA2 Elves more aesthetically pleasing than in Origins, but to answer your question (this is more to Sadist than the OP): Here you go.
  12. Just tossing it out here: have you downloaded the file again to make sure that the original file isn't damaged? Error messages are usually quite sure of what's wrong.
  13. Just tossing this in here, as DarthParametric is, as he often is, brilliant (I should've linked this previously): Bigger Elves
  14. Eeeeasy on the caps. mate. Anyway, the answer to this request can be found on Google, but I'll save you the trouble: It's a no.
  15. I believe that Awakening resources do NOT show up in the toolset, which has been an annoyance for the modders over at social bioware since its release. If you want to change the damage type of a spell, you can do that in the appropriate .gda file.
  16. I think they key word here is "resistant" to magic, not immune. Dwarves are resistant to the effects of magic and lyrium (hence why they can work with it) but not immune - if they were completely immune, it could be argued that the Sloth Demon couldn't have sent Oghren/Dwarven Warden into the Fade. But for your question OP: Dwarven Resistance gives a 10% chance to completely resist a harmful spell... so one in ten ticks that deal spirit damage when Aura of Pain is active would be nullified.
  17. Awakening in Origins, If you want those abilities however, you'll need to lower their required level.
  18. It's not hard to do it manually - since you have four chargens, I'll call them A, B, C and D. Open all of them and have A as your core and then go to B, look for all the differences it has (namely new skins, hairs, eyes, etc etc), copy them and paste them into the corresponding section in A. Proceed with C and D. Save A and place it in your Override folder. It isn't hard actually, just takes a while... though I'd look up why TerraEx' program quits on you, it's just gold.
  19. Yes, I've played such games... usually ends with impaling Ganondorf on a sword. Anyway, hm... what you're suggesting would take more than a few hours at the computer (and I know that the Monk Class mod took a long time to make) and I don't know if you can specify a certain animation and spell for a certain class/specialization that already exist for a class. Though I suppose making a weapon that briefly flares with an element (in this case lightning) and then having an Chance on Hit effect (chain lightning, though weaker probably since it wouldn't have the charge up) shoot from you without using your hands or any traditional casting animation, would be feasible.
  20. Well, if she runs after them, you can probably adjust her tactics. I think there's an option to always remain at ranged somewhere in there...
  21. Winter Forge for the stats, Universal Dye Kit for the recolouring.
  22. Oh, well, the Elves aren't that tiny. The Humans in the game are on average 180 cm, with the Elves down at maybe 170 (I'm not awesome with the weird Imperial measurement). At least be happy that they're not the Na'vi in costumes from DA2 =)
  23. Search is your bestest friend, both here and Google. But quickly summing it up: it'd be a major endeavour to rescale all elven models, including bodies, armour and clothing, as well as properly adjusting the head so it doesn't end up between your ribs. It can be done, but the effort is greater than the payoff by far. I also think social bioware has a few threads about this.
  24. Yes, you're quite right about that... not to mention that the different main quests for the treaties would become horrible montages to save time - half the fun (oh well, 75%) in DA:O is the dialogue. You don't want to watch a movie where they talk, talk, talk, fight, talk, talk and talk.
  25. There are three mods that do that: Better Human Noble Origins by Tommylrianto Of Noble Cast by JOG Obsidian's Nobler Noble by ObsidianWarlock (my favourite)
