Seems back up, at least on my end and for the files I wanted that previously gave an error. -
Error 1016 DNS errors when trying to manually download mods

This issue has returned for me, at least for certain files. I assume it's the same temporary issue again, likely with the same service provider. -
Vision Of The Future - "Just sit still" crash
Valamyr replied to CrashMasterJMM's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I tested both solutions presented in this thread. EITHER deactivating the UP OR the mechanist's lair overvhaul fixed that ctd for me. I do mean that disabling either one on it's own fixes the CTD, even if the other remains active. So I assume it's a conflict of some sort, that's probably not any author's fault per se. Its pretty weird though, cant say off hand why this ctd would only occur if either of these things are on in a Vault 88 quest.- 27 replies

any auto loot mods not made by fireundubh?
Valamyr replied to steveyos2's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Bit of a necro to address the problem mentioned by OP. Since Auto Loot remains the only mod that does this I thinkered with it a fair bit, because it worked splendidly for 80 hours then I was getting really, really frequent CTDs whenever I was trying to loot stuff. More specifically, Fallout's exe would freeze and had to be restarted at a crazy rate. I reloaded an earlier save point, thinking that might help and it did, but I did not know why. I ran into the issue again later and eventually put my finger on the issue: If I have any ranks of Mister Sandmand, the perk, the loot mod would cause crashes in high density areas. No clue why. I do know what removing all my other mods did not help in any way, and that I had none modifying Mister Sandman. By not taking Mister Sandman everything works fine. I have Ninja as well but I can totally live without MS as their synergy was nerfed awhile back anyways so that'll be my solution, just gonna buy other perks. Did take hours of tinkering to notice the connection between these two things. Now there's a strong chance that if you have Auto Loot and you get crashes it it'll have nothing to do with my own experience, but I thought I'd suggest trying that. Remove the MS perk with the console (all ranks) and see if the crashes are miraculously fixed. If a few problem have the same reproductible experience, then perhaps the author will be more willing to look at it again, though there's strong chances its not really his fault. -
@ Dark0ne or Staff - New Donation Pop-up not working
Valamyr replied to Deleted133263User's topic in Site Support
It already takes too many clicks to download a file from Nexus, especially manually. When you're downloading 500 mods ( not unreasonable for a STEP install or such ) your new donation popup will add 400 more. Please have it show only once per day or something. I KNOW they appreciate donations but shoving it in my face is the best way to ensure it won't happen anymore. Doing it at endorsement would be better too especially if it was built into a "thank you for endorsing" message because a single popup then seems far more acceptable. -
Ultimately gave up on fixing this, would have required rolling back to when I first talked to a guard outside Markath 50 hours of gameplay ago. The bug ensured MS01 started on stage 90 and that the guy for the House of Horrors quest would not spawn. I killed both Weylin and Margret from stealth, manually triggered House of Horrors through console, and went in the temple where MS02 (Cidna mine) was triggered given I was on stage 90. So I got the mace and the game 'feels' like I did MS01 and House of Horrors normally. Best I could manage.

I think this may be related to the fact guards think Ive been meddling before I even start. If I found the variable that makes guards warn you about meddling in Markath and set it to zero before entering it might fix it. Ill try looking through scripts...
-
I'm having an issue where Weylin wont attack Margret upon my first visit to Markath. This screws up at least The Forsown Conspiracy and prevent the NPC responsible for starting the House of Horrors from spawning. Googling says this happens if I enter it at night on The House of Madness quest but while it was night, Im not on that quest. Guards immediately walked up to me to complain about my meddling instead. Dunno why. Same thing if I reload an older save and/or disable all mods before entering. Killing Weylin without him attack Margret does not fix the issue. Disable/Enable or 'startquest' for the Forsworn Conspiracy doesn't make him behave as intended. Can someone point me to a console solution or a script fix of any kind? Thx.

Specific savegame can't turn into werewolf / nothing happens
Valamyr replied to Valamyr's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I found a solution of sorts. Something about having the Moonlight Tales mod installed at all somehow fixes the problem. I can instantly transform on all my saves without having to even use its debug options. Its rather script heavy though so I'll try to find a different solution now that I know it can be done. Edit: I was ultimately able to solve the issue without using mods. Getting turned into a vampire by Harkon and then turned back into a Werewolf by Aela fixed the whole mess. -
I'm having a weird problem affecting my current character when it comes to werewolf transformations. Now its an heavily modded game so its possible the problem to my save game occured due to mods, but it's not a mod conflict as with my exact current load order, if I load a really old save for that character (lv4) and try to turn into a wolf it works without any issues whatsoever. For more recent saves, up to level 50, not so. Using the Beast Form Power does not trigger any animation whatsoever, with the same load order. 'Beast Form' appears in Active Effects/SkyUI for exactly 10 seconds but nothing ever happens. I can't fathom what happened in between my lv4 save and my lv7 save that could have caused my character to lose the ability to transition into a werewolf if she has the Beast Form Power. While testing this out, I also disabled *all* my mods and loaded the same saves to the same effect. Only the very oldest save has the ability to trigger the transition. Also, if I make a new character with all the mods enabled and console in the Beast Form power, they can transform without issues. Unless someone has some insight in how I could fix this situation with the console or a mod of some sort, it appears this character will not be frolicking with the wolves.

I cant believed this worked. Saved my game!! Gah, to think I reinstalled half my mods before thinking of checking the INIs!! MERCI OP

Are people able to open the Dawnguard ESM?
Valamyr replied to SFBryan18's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Thanks a ton for this. Silly me. I was having the same issue and also forgot I needed to update SkyrimEditor too... :wallbash: -
Hello! I would like to know if anyone knows about a Mod equivalent to Oblivion's "Save training sessions for later" Basically something that lets me save up those training sessions, all the way to 400 if need be, so that I no longer pressure myself to time my level ups to avoid wasting any :P (I like to use them to build up skills I dont actually use, so that I can get to the high 70s without too much sweat)

My understanding is that SD is unlikely to get updated for beta patches, right? Do we know if 1.6 full is expected soon? I'm pondering a new playthrough but I'd both like to try mounted combat and yet I have a SD mod I absolutely cannot live without, so I'm wondering.

While atrociously lame (only moderate offense intended), this video made me realize the synergistic potential between warding and spell absorption...

Found my problem: the glitch vanished when I moved my CCC Vsync settings from "On unless application specifies" to "Off unless application specifies". Since my FPS limiter turns off Vsync, maybe there was a conflict or maybe the game just doesnt like the CCC to be messing with this. Seems like other threads I found about this are ALL from ATI users with the catalyst suite installed so I bet its everyone's issue.

Same problem, didnt occur before. Not sure what changed. I have lots of mod but the only one I added recently was a FPS limiter so stuff stops flying off the shelves... Anyone found a solution? radeon 6950

English language fail :P "Beginning in January" means "From January onwards", nor "At the beginning of January". Furthermore, keep unforseen delays in mind... I'll be happy if we get it ANYTIME this month, sadly.

This will always be my sole place for mods. If there's a mod I have to get on Steam because its just not here, I'll always ask the author nicely to mirror it here at here. Nexus is the heart of the community, we cant let big bucks and their invasive software take over the place.

Unique weapons in Skyrim are really lame...
Valamyr replied to Drakhaoul's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Yes, plenty of people are. I reached it fairly easily, the trick was using my training sessions to make sure the skills I used the least (2hand, heavy armor) kept up with the rest. And I played with a JOAT style, which technically makes the game harder but IMO makes it much faster to hit max level than training skills a few at a time. -
So far, 1.3 seems like a fair step up from 1.1 for me (skipped 1.2) OK it crashed a lot at first... then I remembered I had forgotten to re-apply the 4GB patch lol SInce I did that, 1.3 has been a charm. Then again, my PC is OP and I wouldnt have noticed a 10 fps drop ....

We are not impressed. :(

There are tons of little annoyances and minor issues but they dont add up to unplayable per se. But yes, definitely, someone who plays this game for the first time in a year with all patches, DLC and some good mods including an unofficial patch will have a wholly different experience. Its the same thing everytime. If I had any willpower, I'd only play games after they've been out a year or two without exceptions :P Not only would they be dirt cheap, they'd be ten times better. Alas I dont, so please take my money, I want to beta test! :P

Looking for a mod to decrease shout recharge time
Valamyr replied to thelasthallow's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I havent tested it in the case of shout recharge, but that's... not how forceav works for everything else at all. OK, I'll stop arguing and run some tests I guess  But color confused in the meantime. Sorry for arguing! -
Looking for a mod to decrease shout recharge time
Valamyr replied to thelasthallow's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Be forewarned, using forceav will make Amulets and Blessings of Talos useless. modav is what you should probably use. Actually, no, you are wrong. Using modav will add or subtract from what is already there. Using forceav will set the value to what you enter and not add or subtract from the current stored value. But that's the problem! You want addition/substraction, not to set the value. If you use items or blessings that change the basic value and then set it with forceav, these blessings/items no longer have any effect, and vice versa. If however you add/substract then you can get both the benefits of your manual change and whatever you find in game. I suppose it depends on what you're trying to achieve but I've never been in a situation where I felt the heavyhandedness of forceav was preferable, aside from some bugfixing or testing. Admittedly in this case the impact is fairly minor because aside from the blessing and the amulet of Talos, I havent found any items in game that modified shout cooldown, and since we both seem to understand how it works, I suppose there's nothing to argue about :)
