  1. @Glitchipedia: that's perfectly fine. Haha. It fluctuates depending on how much everyone has free time to post. @Macman: Svarn's response made me  so that's why Adrynn's reply is so biting. >.< nothing directed at you though, so don't take it out of context. :3 The veteran in Adrynn is aghast considering the caution he had just given.
  2. Adrynn gave Svarn a long cold stare at the Nord's comment. He stood up and looked down at the hunter, his eyes showing his distaste. "I have not survived two and a half centuries of combat by being careless or foolish, Nord. Especially with such an enemy," he said, his voice hard as steel. "If you wish to sacrifice your life for an attempt at glory, then you are only wasting my time." Adrynn had not realized how suddenly his temper had snapped. Though his voice was calm, his words spoke the truth of his anger. "You are an able warrior, Svarn, but no man can hope to face twenty alone and hope to live," Adrynn said, unclenching his left hand and holding it up, his moon and star brand plain to see. "Well, unless you have a little help."
  3. Adrynn crouched silently next to Sorinyarie, his ruby eyes never leaving Willis's face as he told his story. The Redoran frowned. It seemed that no matter how much evil was slain or driven back in Tamriel, something else just appeared to fill the void. But that didn't mean he had to concern himself in it. He had his own matters to handle right now. "I have not heard of this battlemage you speak of, Breton, even as well traveled as I am," Adrynn answered, his eyes hard chips of rubies in the firelight. "Though until recently, most of my travels the past decade have been in Morrowind," he added, his frown deepening. "But necromancers rise, and they all fall, eventually." He resisted the urge to glance in Baltis's direction, having noticed the lich now had a pair of functioning eyes. "I do not wish to discourage you from your search, mage, but I cannot accompany you on it. I already have been delayed in my own quest, and I'm sure my companion has already reached my cousin. I seek to gain the days I lost, though going by what Ra'Qassar has told me, we are no more than a day away now," Adrynn said, shifting slightly under his heavy wolfskin cloak to ease the strain on his sore knee. The past few days travel had not been kind to the aging Dunmer, even though he had urged a fast pace. "Now, tomorrow night, we will travel under the cover of night to reach the Karthspire, the great mountain that holds our destination," he said, glancing at Sorinyarie, and Baltis, whom knew about Sky Haven Temple already. "I'm sure we will have difficulties, as the terrain is craggy. But we need to make haste. I do not wish to encounter the Forsworn, nor do we need to do battle with them." He took this moment to look at everyone to make sure they understood. "If we are beset, run. Defend yourself if needed, but do not stand and fight, as you would likely be cut down. I do not wish that upon anyone here, so stuff your bravado and use your head. Agreed?"
  4. Heh. I'm sure Auriana has her own plans, but a history for every character is always a good thing. :3 I'll have my post done soon. Actually, I was in the process of writing it when you posted, so I had to start over. XD No biggie though.
  5. Guys, I just wanna add something here before we get too far along. >.< I don't think we are quite in the Reach yet. From my estimations, and after talking with Auriana, it looks like the group traveling with Adrynn is still in the middle of Whiterun Hold at the moment. http://www.uesp.net/maps/srmap/srmap.shtml?locx=-70528&locy=9984&zoom=13 This is the map I'm looking at, and I'd say that taking the pass south from the Labyrinthian, and having a day's worth of travel, the group is between Rorikstead and Swindler's Den. What do ya'll think?
  6. He could be lost because he was chased away from his path by a scouting party of Forsworn and ran blindly in a direction away from them? :3
  7. Adrynn hesitated. He did not yet quite know what to think of this stranger, but it was better to be cautious than foolhardy. "You may travel with us, mage. But know that where we go, there will be bloodshed. I have kin that need my help, and I have already been detoured once before," he said, shifting his weight under his heavy black cloak and glancing at Baltis. The lich's eyes were mere pinpricks of crimson light in their sockets. He frowned, already guessing the what the questions might be.
  8. Adrynn's stride was hampered by his slight limp, but he kept moving. His thoughts had been dark since they had left Labyrinthian, and he couldn't force himself to change them. Luckily it seemed, fate had a way of doing that for him. A mage stepped out in front of them, asking for assistance. Adrynn stopped, surprised by his sudden arrival. The Redoran had not been paying quite as close attention to his surrounds as he should have. He leaned on his good leg, resting his hand on the pommel of his sword. He eyed the mage up and down once, before replying. "What do you require, mage?" Adrynn asked his deep voice carrying through the space between them.
  9. Nice summary, Zeph. :3 also, is it my turn to post?
  10. Adrynn crossed his arms, both relieved and a bit impressed. The Thalmor had not been true to the Dominion it seemed. Though an Altmer who worshiped Talos brought an ironic smirk to his face. The Altmer had always worshiped the Aedra, though never Talos. Adrynn dismissed further thoughts of the et'Ada before he started confusing himself. The god named Talos was a mystery of conflicting accounts and just a little too much fanaticism. So it was best to just let it be. He glanced to everyone who had offered to come and nodded. "Svarn, Felix, if you wish to come, you may. If you want to go claim the reward for the Thalmor, that is also an option." Finally, he looked to Sienna. "Knight of the Nine, it has been a pleasure traveling with you," Adrynn said, crossing his hand over his chest and bowing slightly. Finally, he turned to those who were going with him. "Let us be off, we don't have much time and many leagues to go," he said, before strolling toward the pass south into Whiterun.
  11. Adrynn nodded and pushed open the door leading out of Labyrinthian. He stopped for a moment, closed his eyes, and took a long deep breath. Kriak's return and revelations had boosted Adrynn's spirit in a way he didn't fully understand. That, and letting go of his murderous hatred of a man he blamed for something that couldn't be changed. Even if that man was a lich. He glanced sidelong at Baltis, his former enemy turned companion yet again and began to chuckle to himself at the irony. The threads of fate were slowly drawing everyone back together for one more hurrah. Perhaps their last. But it would be their greatest. He stepped over to the fire and took a moment to warm himself, thinking over his next move. He looked over everyone present for a long moment, gauging, measuring, evaluating their worth. Some, like Svarn and Felix, had proven their worth as valuable fighters, though he didn't think their path lay with his. Others, like Sienna, had faltered when she was needed most, though Adrynn kept his thoughts private on that matter. He figured she was berating herself enough about it without his opinion. His eyes strayed to Galus, and to Sandhya beside him. The Thalmor turned traitor seemed a bit uneasy, though the Redoran didn't blame him. Anyone who had been hunted from Whiterun to this far flung corner of Skyrim only to destroy the very ones keeping him alive and joining with his hunters was definitely someone to keep an eye on. Adrynn intended to do just that. The Khajiit, on the other hand, was quite a capable fighter, but her path was her own, as it was for most of the cat folk. His gaze swept over Sorinyarie, who had displayed an incredible amount of magickal prowess in the ruin, surprising the Redoran, though he had heard tales of her extraordinary magickal use before. Finally, he glanced to Baltis and Ra'Qassar. The lich was unreadable, though Adrynn could guess his motives. The Khajiiti Thane of Whiterun on the other hand, was unconscious, though Adrynn hoped that Ra'Quassar would awaken soon enough, so he could assess his injuries. The Khajiit was a mystery for now, one better left to unravel another time. Adrynn stood up, resting his hand on the pommel of his sword, his dark heavy cloak folding around him. "My companions, now it is time for those among us to make a choice," he started, his deep Dunmeri voice carrying to them all. "I am going west, to the Rift. Those among you who are accompanying me are free to come along, or go your own way, if you wish," he said, eying Sorinyarie and Baltis. "The rest of you who came here to claim the bounty on the escaping Thalmor, I would say your mission is complete, as all the Thalmor who attacked Whiterun are dead." He made sure to give a hard look to Galus, his meaning clear. "Thalmor, it is needless for me to say this, but your life as an agent of the Aldmeri Dominion is forfeit. And by any account, you died in that ruin there," Adrynn said, pointing back to the Labyrinthian. He sincerely hoped the rest understood the chance he was giving Galus, and that they would stay their tongues otherwise. "Therefor, I say it is best you accompany myself and the few who travel with me and start a new life, aye?" The Redoran's eyes burned like bright flames as he finished, staring hard into the eyes of the Altmer, waiting for his answer.
  12. Adrynn didn't reply immediately. He swallowed hard to push away the sudden rise of emotions that choked him. Even after two centuries, the death of his wife Garila still haunted him. It had happened in the midst of the Oblivion Crisis, when Adrynn and his companions were deep in Cyrodiil hunting the Mythic Dawn, only to have the gates of Oblivion open around them. It had been hell. Literally. Garila and Baltis had volunteered to go close a Gate, because Adrynn had been wounded during the Siege of Cheydinhal and their other companions were spread across Cyrodiil. Adrynn had been against it, but Garila, being his ever headstrong wife, had done so anyways. Unfortunately, she had fallen in the Gate, and Baltis had been the only one to exit, clutching the Sigil Stone. Adrynn, overcome with grief, had demanded to know what had happened, and the lich had stuttered that Garila had been wounded and he couldn't reach her in time to save her, so he had pressed on. The Redoran would have struck down the lich then and there in his anger, but Kriak had intervened then, as in now, staying Adrynn's hand. The Redoran swallowed again, clearing his throat. He realized that he had held onto his anger for the lich for far too long, blaming him for Garila's death, when in reality, Baltis had spoken the truth. It was like a kick to the ribs, driving the air from his lungs. He let out a shuddered gasp and tried to push the tears back, but they came anyway. Adrynn nodded finally as they reached the cavern of the skeletal dragon. "I forgive you Baltis. Though I have dreamed of ending your existance, I realize now that it would not bring her back," the Redoran said, keeping a stoic face, despite his tears. He truly missed Garila, and knew that he would not even see her in the afterlife, as since he was a Chosen of Azura, his soul was bound to Moonshadow, and not pass to Aetherius or stay to protect his descendants, though seeing as he was childless, didn't seem so bad. Finally, they reached the great door of Labyrinthian. Adrynn turned to Baltis, and stuck out his hand. "To new beginnings, and the burying of our past," Adrynn offered, staring into the sightless eyes of Baltis' face.
  13. Adrynn nodded to Kriak. As much as he missed traveling with his former companion, they each had their own tasks to attend to. Plus, Velanya must be getting impatient by now. He was sure Faeryn and Serra had reached her already. He just hoped she would stay her wrath so he could explain his.... detour. "Very well then, Kriak. I wish you well in your quest, and pray you can return some day so we may travel again. Farewell, Huntsman," Adrynn said, walking forward and clasping the hunter's forearm in a gesture as old as war itself. He looked hard into Kriak's face, and nodded one last time. Letting go, he turned and glanced at Baltis. "It seems you are coming with us, Lich. Unless you would rather stay here..." he trailed off. He walked over to where Ra'Qassar lay unconscious and laid a hand on his furry forehead. Adrynn closed his eyes and readied a healing spell, before slowly releasing it into the Khajiit. Hopefully he would awaken soon enough to travel. Standing and pulling his cloak tighter around him, he warded off the chill of the cold stones, and bit back his anger and exasperation at once again being a plaything of Azura's whim. Azura, when my time comes, you will have much to account for, he whispered toward her. Indeed my child, as will you...
  14. Sooo, I've been fiddling with some mods, and an ENB, and got Adrynn looking like http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/920145210227898506/C46DB178D77A265F3DB8E098FF058F151DC22217/ this
  15. Adrynn accepted the strange hourglass with a look of confusion. Kriak's egnimatic words mixed with his own weariness and shock at seeing the huntsman only served to muddle the Redoran's mind even further. "What -" he started, then caught the look Baltis gave the hourglass. Then it clicked. The phylactery. Of course. In this small object, concealed in its depths by the lich's magic, lay Baltis's very soul. An overwhelming urge to crush the damned thing overtook the Redoran, but he quickly shoved the notion aside. It wasn't worth his life. Looking Baltis straight in his non-existant eyes, Adrynn took off his left gauntlet, set the hourglass against his moon and star brand, and pushed. The hourglass sunk into the brand, finally disappearing as Adrynn closed his hands together completely. He ignored the searing pain that shot through his arm from using that kind of magic. It had been a long time since he had used Azura's gift of transporting through Moonshadow. And even now, after he had put Baltis's Phylactery there, he wasn't sure how he did it. This is why you wanted me to come to Labyrinthian, isn't it, Azura? he asked silently, his gaze never wavering from Baltis. Indeed so, my child. Trust your companion, and trust me. Baltis will have a part to play in the coming weeks. Whether you can see it now or not. Adrynn didn't reply, but walked over to his sword and scooped it up, sheathing it. "Very well, Kriak. Are you going to stay with us, or are you needed in your own realm?"
  16. The ebony longsword slipped from Adrynn's nerveless fingers. It clattered to the floor with the unique ring of ebony striking stone. Impossible! He walked to the hunter, his eyes refusing to believe what they saw. Baltis, and Adrynn's fury toward him, compeletely disappeared at the reappearance of Adrynn's old companion. The Redoran finally reached the Hunter, his eyes sweeping over the other man. Kriak still looked the same. As if he had never aged. Yet there was more behind his eyes since the last time Adrynn had seen him. It was obvious that he had gone through struggles of his own. "I saw you die, Kriak. When you handed me the Sigil Stone and pushed me into the fire, I saw the Dremora impale you," Adrynn said, quite vividly remembering that horrible day when Adrynn and Kriak had gone into an Oblivion Gate, but only Adrynn returned. Adrynn's mouth pressed into a hard line, and his face fell into a scowl. "Why have you never shown yourself till now? It's been over two centuries since then, and I've mourned your death along with almost all of our former companions. The only ones who still live are Velanya, Serrabinishiah, Sorinyarie, and Faeryn. Where have you been, Kriak?" Adrynn took a long glance at Ra'Quassar and then at Baltis. He glanced back to Kriak. "And why are you here now?"

  20. Adrynn had stumbled and followed after the others as they followed the passageways down deeper into the ruins. He had reached into his pack and drank as many of his magicka restoration postions as he could find. Slowly but surely, he had felt his magicka return. Power flowed through his limbs as he caught up with the group. Though still physically weary from the earlier battle, he now was able to cast a few spells. Finally, they reached the Hall of Stories and caught up with the Thalmor. There were only five left. Ra'Qassar had drawn his weapon and aimed it at the Thalmor. Adrynn drew his sword as well, intent on helping finish these accursed Altmer. But before they could attack, the great stone door that the Thalmor were blocked by suddenly exploded from the inside, flinging rubble and smoke everywhere. Adrynn felt a sharp and sudden stab of power. The cold that had plagued him throughout the Labyrinthian returned with a vengeance, and now he knew why. He stood up slowly and watched as the Thalmor commander slew his own troops at the taunt of the Dunmer with no eyes. Slowly, Adrynn walked forward. His fury crashed over him like a total and complete typhoon with each step. His vision was tinted in a dangerous shade of red. He stopped halfway between his companions and the Thalmor. He raised his sword and pointed it at the Dunmer mage. His grip was white knuckled in sheer fury. "Baltis, I told you the next time I saw you, I would kill you, lich!"
  21. Light. Sound. Pain. Adrynn snapped open his eyes and took a deep gasp of air and pushed himself up to his hands and knees. He was covered in a fine sheen of cold sweat. The sharp hiss of a Khajiit's accent broke through the haze of pain clouding his mind. He glanced up to see Sandhya parrying the dragon's claws, her legs like furry trees as she planted herself between himself and the dragon. He admired her courage. Shakily standing he laid his hand on her shoulder and tugged to show her he was awake. "Come Sandhya, fall back to the others!" He yelled over the noise of the dragon's roars. He drew his sword and hacked at the dragon's wing as it swung past him, quickly realizing he needed to regather his strength. He stumbled away from the dragon and slid behind a pillar, feeling his sword slip from numb fingers. It clattered to the ground. The Redoran closed his eyes and took three deep breaths, feeling the tremors that still plagued his muscles lessen. You have done well, child. The beast is almost finished... Azura softly whispered, a smile in her voice. Adrynn grimaced and pushed against the hungry tendrils of the magic of Labyrinthian seeking to drain his strength. He hoped for all their sakes that someone could finish the damned thing. "Sorin! Kill the dragon!" He yelled through the din.
  22. The sudden reappearance of Svarn and Felix was a boon to Adrynn. He had been battling through the skeletons to try and reach the dragon, but had found himself surrounded on all sides and forced to fall back. He caught sight of the dragon recoiling from the arrows of Ra'Qassar, fire blazing from where they pierced. An idea quickly came to him. Sweeping aside the few skeletons that pursued him, he sheathed his sword and gathered what little of his magicka remained to him. Fire. The one thing feared by all undead. Adrynn pooled his magicka in both hands, overcharging the spell until it glowed a fiery white. Now would be the time for some help, Azura. he shot toward his patron. Almost immediately, he could feel a surge of power flow through his body. Hissing against the pain that came with it, he pushed this new energy into the spell, his arms shaking from holding the spell at bay. "DRAGON! Taste the flames of Oblivion!!!" He yelled, catching the dragon's attention as it opened its maw to bathe him in frost. He released the spell. It swirled and tore through the skeletons before slamming into the dragon's open mouth, exploding on impact. The force of the blow rocked the chamber, and the skeletal dragon fell back, screaming its fury and pain. Adrynn sagged to his knees, exhausted. The spell had drained the last of his magicka from him. With trembling hands, he pushed on the stone floor to stop himself from passing out. The world was spinning around him, and he fell into blackness.
  23. So I guess either we all died or its someone's turn to post. >_> but whos
