  1. Hi all, I hope you smart mod people can help me with some Windows 7 file advice. FO4 says (in Options at the start screen) "Your video hardware was not identified. Video settings have been set for Low Quality." Now, I know am trying to run the game on just barely the minimum spec, but could I be having problems because I moved the game files out of Program Files (x86) and into: Libraries>Documents>MyGames ? I did this a year or two ago on advice form here in order to play FO3. Someone told me that Windows7 didn't like mod changes messing about with (x86), and FO3 did run much better when I moved it, and it's worked great for all kinds of beautiful-graphics games-- Skyrim, FO NV, Far Cry3, Crysys, Tomb Raider, Borderlands1&2, Bioshock infinite, all run on full HD everything. ...but FO4 with all graphics and view distance turned to zero drops down to 0-10 or 20 fps anywhere outside of buildings, and has seized up and crashed when it starts to rain. =( So, might it help if I move the game files back to (x86), and if you think it would, what's the proper location? (since I have no idea how it looked before I moved it, not being smart enough to write it down before I messed with it. My now seriously underpowered rig is: Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1 Processor: Intel Core i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz Installed memory (RAM): 4.00 GB System type: 64-bit Operating System Pen and Touch: No pen or touch input is available for this Display NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 (with the newest update) I know, I know. I really couldn't afford the game itself. =) ...but it is soooo goood! Thanks for reading all this, and thanks for any help!
  2. I llllooovve Bethesda's games, and have played 521 hours in Skyrim, and more yet in Fallout3 and NV, but I've noticed that all the animations for melee fighting are super unrealistic: They all have a long delay between the time you press the "ATTACK!!" button and the actual swing of the weapon. There is a very silly, almost pose-striking foot movement, then your hero winds up, then he/she swings... same stance and windup for light and heavy attacks, as far as I can tell. It makes it a really weird timing trick to hit charging enemies, and as someone with a martial arts and swordfighting background, it's just not realistic. In fact, if you telegraphed your hits like that while sparing, your opponent would block or dodge every single one of them, and then they would easily kick your butt. I have the bruises to prove it, and so do my friends! ;) (from Krav Maga, Boxing, Escrima and SCA/Ren fair type armored screwing around) Does some loverly and hard-working modder already make such an animation/timing mod? I had no luck searching, but I might have missed something... Thanks you guys
