  1. I cannot download mods using the Vortex link. I get the message "Download failed". When I click "More" it says "code: ESOCKETTIMEDOUT". There is nothing wrong with my connection so I don't know why I am getting this error. I tried logging out, restarting my PC, and logging back in and I still get the error. Brand new install- verion 1.1.5 on Windows 10 64 bit, 16 GB RAM, RX480 8GBVRAM Details: Error: ESOCKETTIMEDOUT (request: https://api.nexusmods.com/v1/games/{gameId}/mods/{modId}) at ClientRequest.<anonymous> (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\request\request.js:816:19) at Object.onceWrapper (events.js:273:13) at ClientRequest.emit (events.js:182:13) at TLSSocket.emitRequestTimeout (_http_client.js:661:40) at Object.onceWrapper (events.js:273:13) at TLSSocket.emit (events.js:182:13) at TLSSocket.Socket._onTimeout (net.js:449:  at ontimeout (timers.js:425:11) at tryOnTimeout (timers.js:289:5) at listOnTimeout (timers.js:252:5) at Timer.processTimers (timers.js:212:10) Error at restGet (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\nexus-api\lib\Nexus.js:62:22) at rest (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\nexus-api\lib\Nexus.js:105:11) at Nexus.<anonymous> (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\nexus-api\lib\Nexus.js:414:30) at Generator.next (<anonymous>) at C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\nexus-api\lib\Nexus.js:7:71 at new Promise (<anonymous>) at __awaiter (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\nexus-api\lib\Nexus.js:3:12) at Nexus.request (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\nexus-api\lib\Nexus.js:412:16) at Nexus.<anonymous> (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\nexus-api\lib\Nexus.js:285:25) at Generator.next (<anonymous>) at fulfilled (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\nexus-api\lib\Nexus.js:4:58) Called from: at mgmtFuncs.has.function.obj.(anonymous function).args (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\renderer.js:4379:145) at startDownload (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\renderer.js:1677:31) at doDownload (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\renderer.js:4409:15) at then (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\renderer.js:4410:124) at tryCatcher (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\util.js:16:23) at Promise._settlePromiseFromHandler (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:547:31) at Promise._settlePromise (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:604:18) at Promise._settlePromiseCtx (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\promise.js:641:10) at _drainQueueStep (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\async.js:97:12) at _drainQueue (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\async.js:86:9) at Async._drainQueues (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\async.js:102:5) at Async.drainQueues (C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\node_modules\bluebird\js\release\async.js:15:14)
  2. Same issue here. "Download failed" ESOCKETTIMEDOUT -Sucks when you only have a couple hrs to play:(
  3. What does this have to do with birds?
  4. I hear them, but never see them (except for hawks that look and act more like paper air-planes) So ya, I agree we need more birds. Song birds singing and weaving through the forests, vultures/crested cara cara's tearing up carcusses, owels hunting rabits, crows giving away enemy positions, quail coveys/pheasants hiding and busting from cover ....Also with all of the water and fish there is no reason not to have Egrets, Herons, Pelicans, Eagles in and around water fishing etc... (I know not all of this is possible just throwing out ideas:) This would really add to the realism/immersion of the game.
  5. I would love to see vultures circling in the sky over the areas with moderate climates (particularly the plains) during the daytime that would descend upon and feed on animal carcasses (particularly mammoths). It would just be very realistic, as something has to dispose of the dead animals. Something along the lines of an hour after death, vultures appear and feed for 4 hrs (scattering into flight if spooked, or maybe even fighting with players under level 5-make you earn your pelt while gaining experience/leveling). After the feeding period the carcasses turn into bones, that will eventually disapear with the normal respawn time. You could even have the vultures roost in trees at night, spookable (could make for a good "jump" effect while traveling at night). I always feel like there should be more birds in areas of the game, and I think this could really add to the realism/immersion and excitement of traveling. This could even be expanded upon for other predators /scavengers in the game (wolf, saber tooth, bear, fox, vulture...fighting/competing over and feeding on carcasses -Like mutual of omaha's wild kingdom, only in skyrim:)
  6. I found a fix for myself. I remembered using a program that came with Advanced System Care called Game Booster, so i decided to download it again and give it a try. After I started the program I clicked on "configure". I literally checked everything I could in the "configuration" for "services", and "other processes" (in "processes" I left all of my video card, sound card, and mouse processes unchecked), started the program and played skyrim all day without one crash. I have a older Computer, and my guess is it can't handle skyrim and everything else running at the same time. After killing all of the unecessary processes I can play crash free now. Here is a link to get it for free: http://download.cnet.com/Game-Booster/3000-18512_4-10913645.html All it does is take a predetermined or user defined list of unecessary processes/programs /services and shuts them down when you start the program before you play a game. This can make a huge difference on older computers like mine. After you are done, you just click to turn it off and it turns the processes/programs/services back on. Very simple, but effective. I hope this works for you guys.
  7. Crash to desktop upon fast travel, saving, exiting a city or level/cave. II just started getting this problem in the last week. I have turned off all mods, reinstalled, verified game cache, used low settings ect... to no avail. So frustrating I have all but abandoned playing this game. No sooner do I start a campaign or quest and get into it, the game crashes and I am left cussing because i forgot to save (or I am afraid to save because it will crash). Very frustrating. I had similar issues with oblivion, but it was never this bad. I almost forgot to add- these crashes happen at a higher rate around Whiterun for some reason, especially upon fast traveling to/from there and leaving the city.
