  1. I made a similar mistake the first time I used the profiles option a few years back. It's not like separate profiles have different mods installed. They both have the exact same mods installed. The difference is the mods that are active. Gopher has a fairly good tutorial video on it if I remember right.
  2. I'll give it a shot. I've used Mod Organizer in the past, but not in quite some time. Thank you for taking the time to give such a complete explanation.
  3. Awesome. I have not attempted this yet, but I will give it a shot. Frost just looks too interesting. Thank you, this is about what I expected. I used the profile option in NMM quite some time ago, and it seemed bugged back then. I was hoping it was improved. But Horizon, and especially Frost do so much to the game I have my doubts. Not to mention I'd like to use different texture sets, ENB's, weather mods ect. ect... I already have two steam install directories on two separate drives. How do you get Steam to install a second copy of the game? Temporarily rename one so it can't find it?
  4. I know this may seem simplistic to some of you guys, but I don't know if these large overhauls play well with the profile feature in NMM. Any input would be appreciated.
  5. I'm wondering how well the profiles feature in NMM works. I have a rocking good Horizon play through going right now, but I'd like to give Frost a try. I know that's why the profile feature is there. I'm just not sure how well it works, and I'd hate to trash all the time I've put into my Horizon run. The only mod I know would not switch over for obvious reasons is the ENB I am running. (Vogue) I have no unusual ini edits. The only post I read about this so far did not look promising. I'm also wondering if there is maybe a way to get Steam to install a separate copy of Fallout4. But that would open up another can of worms. How would NMM tell the two apart. Though I guess I could use Mod Organizer if the second copy idea works. ***EDIT***NM I just realized this would not work. The my game dir where the ini and save games files are stored could not tell the two installs apart. Unless anyone else has any other idea's that is.***EDIT*** Any input would be appreciated.
  6. For nVidia it is absolutely a driver issue. I forget the exact version that broke compatibility, but I think it is like five or six revs back now. I sure hope NVidia is sincere about fixing this as I would like to play the game without having to run an out of date driver to do so.
  7. I'd like to be able bury human corpses, and add grave markers with fallout type humor captions. And burn muties, gouls, animals, ands insects. Maybe a bit silly, but I roleplay, and think it would add to the immersion.
  8. Though the crafting system in Fallout 4 is awesome. I think there is a lot of room for improvement. For instance. It would be awesome if you could break down legendary items and remove the mod that gives it it's legendary status. Then combine it with other legendary components. For instance. A legendary Sniper scope for Critical Hits, a legendary Receiver for increased damage, a legendary Barrel for increased Range, and a legendary Stock for increased Stability ect ect. These legendary components should themselves be modifyable to increase their statistics. For instance if different grades of base materials were added to the game. (Steel, Steel alloy, Titanium, Adamantium, ect ect) I also think the Armor Penetration stat on weapons should be removed, and something like Caliber X, and Ammo Crafting should be added to the game. This would give us standard ammo, AP, FMJ, JHP ect ect. Also, rechambering a gun for a different caliber should require the changing of the Barrel, not just the Receiver. I also would enjoy it if higher level components were color coded like in MMO's. I.E. Grey for Common, Green for Uncommon, Blue for Rare, and Purple for Legendary. I think this would add a lot of enjoyment to hunting for components. This just might dethrone Borderlands for it's bazillion gun claim. The same could, and should be done for food, chem, armor, and base building items. I realize this is something that would require the G.E.C.K, and a s*** ton of work, but IMHO it would be freaky awesome.

  11. I was not criticizing bro. Just commenting. As for linking all crafting storage inventories. That would break the immersion factor for me. I still want it to be a game that requires thought and planning. I don't want a system that destroys realism, just one that removes tedium. Maybe just link the storage inventories of settlements with supply lines between them. I could live with that. However I still think using supply lines to ferry materials around would be cool. It would fit the narrative of the game, simplify base building, and not dumb the game down.
  12. Maybe it's not what the OP was specifically referring to, however I'd hardly call this idea niche. I found one mod that does part of this already (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2451/) If you install the junk crafting option you can make steel, copper, and gold bars from what you have in storage. All the mod author would have to do is add the other raw materials. I'd even go a step further with this line of thought. I'd like to be able to use supply lines to send specific raw materials to specific settlements. This is exactly what are supply lines are used for in the real world. Sorry if that is a bit off topic, but I think it would add to the game's settlement, and crafting system at the same time.
  13. Its not silly at all. For instance, If I want to go out and build up a new base I know exactly what materials I need to do it. I should not have to dig though a list of 500 items to find, and then lug 20 desk fans, 100 ceramic coffee mugs, 20 biometric scanners, and 20 camera's to get copper ceramic gears electronics ect ect I need. If the workbench automatically broke down items for me. I could simply grab what I need in the exact quantity I need. This is what computers are for. To rid ourselves of menial needless tasks.
