  1. Indeed, I know :D the thing is, that the structural elements like "Deimos Hull A" or "Deimos wing" etc. give you NO additional Hull rating (while still being essencialy big hunks of steel) but do give you mass, thus they slow you down to no benefit. This, is stupid to me, hence the mod sugestion. It would make sense for this structural elements to also give Hull rating.
  2. Hey... If someone would like to make this, it would be awesome. I myself haven't got the faintest idea of how to do it XD But I think it does make sense, and it will also add a new lvl to ship building mechanics. So, clearly more hunks of steel (or whatever other alloy is in use) between your ships important subsystems and the enemy weaponry would raise your ship's endurance and survivability, no? This translates into MORE HP. This, would also translate into more mass, thus a slower and less manuvrable ship. This is already covered by the base game. XD Issue is, in strapping the structural elements there is only the drawback of being bigger, heavier and slower, with none of the added HP benefit, which to me is stupid. If we were to have structural elements adding HP, this would also give more logic to different types of ships... aka big hulking and slow capital ships (with much HP) vs small nimble attack ships (less HP but speed)... WHat say you? Prospecting capable moder?
