  1. Hi people. If there's anyone on modding survival, I'd like to add a request. The survival mode is still a walk in a park in some ways. One thing, because food, water and meds are like eternal. Once you hunt down 10-15 molerats, you can forget about hunting for like a week. Once you get crops or harvest wild fruit enough, you stop caring about farming/foraging. So, the idea is. Once you harvest something raw (meat/fruit), you have some limited time to cook it, otherwise it spoils and you dispose of it. (with a configurator item one could pick the interval that would seem right). Cooked items also spoil, but slower. And the more complex is the food, the slower it spoils. Water also spoils. Purified water stays clean for a day (24 hrs), then it becomes Dirty. Dirty water becomes Spoiled in another 24 hrs, so you'll have to find new water. So {Spoiled} would be an attribute, like {Raw} or {Cooked}. Maybe two levels would be nicer (Spoiled, then Rotten which you throw away), I dunno. It's details. One other thing, maybe animal behavior might need a little tuning: once you kill 1-2 from a pack, others run away very-very fast - faster than now. I'd also like to see Meds with the chance to fail: expired Radaways, stimpacks that don't heal or even inflict damage, drugs that poison you, because how the hell could they be perfectly working after all these years?
  2. Hi people. sorry if the topic was raised before, but every time i'm playing this bugs me. A lot. A really irritating crap is going on all the time. Example. You are being attacked from somewhere very very far. Not a lot of damage, but you decide to pin the bastard. So you run and run and run, blow the bastard's head off and what do you see? He was using a .38 PIPE AUTO PISTOL! But, you think, there was like ...half a mile distance? Doesn't this gun have like 90-something Range? How could he even hit me? So, the question. How is that even possible that there can be a HIT form a crappy gun from a huge distance? What does Range affect? I suspect it decreases damage the bullet does once it's out of max range, but I'm not sure. And what about spread? Is it also affected? Later in the game you'd notice that enemies are way too accurate with: machineguns (kickback, spread ignored), sawed-off shotguns (spread ignored), gatling guns and all. Does the game even CARE what guns do they use? Maybe it's important, so: I'm using Weapons of Fate, which affects ballistics. I'm mot sure whether this is the case, the desc said that bullets would eventually hit SOMETHING, so I take it all it does is calculating full trajectory w/out affecting guns' stats.
  3. Bwahaha, that's a good one. Two thoughts: a trophy hook (as in: the Witcher) and a functional Torture Chamber (latex suit included) - that would be nice :D
  4. a topic where you could find something: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4858780-modlist-for-survival/ my preference: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/14650/
  5. LIKE No.3. Especially if turrets were also removed. Defense posts like you describe seem natural enough: sniper/gunner high nest, bunker is even better! If I understand the idea correctly, is is part underground with the door at the back and very narrow windows in front, so it'd be very hard to snipe the guardsman, though you could get him easily from the back. More to that: more traps - pits, spikes, falling log traps - mothing hi-tech, everything deadly effective. No.6 - of course! I think I'd repeat: we need shields! we need spears, bows and throwing knives. Moar primitive weaponry!
  6. I mean, why do we know it from the start? we can't do anything without training - shoot properly or mod stuff, but when it comes to meat we're suddenly pros. Shouldn't the skill be described with something?
  7. I suggest to replace Life Giver perk with another one, that would describe our skill in hunting: HUNTING (END 3) 1 - You now can harvest meat from animals 2 - You now can harvest hides from animals 3 - You now can harvest meat from insects and beasts 4 - Animals will drop Rare materials more often Or something.
  8. Seriously. Turrets break so much logic here. Also it's too cheap and OP defense, blowing all the risk for your settlements away. (inb4 it's a game, so relax) a. they use gas as it seems, though everything is supposed to be nuke-powered (and there's no gas in the game) b. they have INFINITE AMMOs!!! and require NO RELOADS EVER! They have a built-in magic ammo generator or what?.. c. they are super-accurate and always 100% distinct friend from foe. just HOW DO THEY DO THAT?! d, stupid-4$$ raiders wearing rugs and metal plates and armed with pool cues actually have them in their camps! And can properly use them! I'm saying, I'm okay with turrets at pre-war bunkers (though I still have questions to their IFF systems), but this is crap. So a request is the following: can anyone please 1. REMOVE turrets from raider bases and such? 2. make remaining ones less OP - build by you included? Like actually require ammo at least? Overheat? Jam chances? Anything? 3. as for detection mechanics, I'd suggest narrower angle and attack on movement detection - like shown in Cameron's "Aliens". 4. Add sniper/machinegun nests instead. THey'd be more to the place.
  9. Hi people. Having some thoughts on survival mode (and modding), would appreciate opinions. Note that I’m using Loot Overhaul Mod, so I don’t offer to cut ammo, medicine or loot drops since I already have this. I think it is good experience, and I’d like to make it even more intense, so here goes (TL;DR warning!). When you get enough radiation damage, it eventually causes mutations, randomly enhancing or weakening stats and perks for every 20%HP (or whatever) taken. You can get infected when looting corpses or any container with fungus. You can get poisoned by eating raw or out-of-date food and drinking dirty water. You are not allowed to use pip-boy while in combat. Plan your favourites right or expect trouble. Camping: you can carry moblie camp around and place it anywhere you think safe. Beware of night attacks and think twice to use fire. The idea here is that only in camp you can properly eat and heal. Think of camp as a mobile bonfire. Healing: more complex. Expect using antiseptic, bandages, trauma kits and such. Remember that stimpacks originally had some nasty side effects. Crafting is not instant. It takes time and gives you fatigue. Crafting requires tools. You need to collect tools (hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches) to craft stuff. You need a knife of any kind in your INV to harvest meat or animal hides. You do not know how to do it w/out perk (ANIMAL FRIEND, MWAHAHA!). You will need to collect recipies for every drug to craft in Chem bench. You do not now how to use it w/out perk. You need a cooking pan to roast stuff, pot to make soups and any tea- or coffeepot to boil stuff. You need to collect food recipies to cook 'em all. You do not know how to make a deathclaw stake from the start. MOAR primitive weaponry: bows, spears and such. The original post suggested import from Skyrim, but it seems it's not possible.@ Twilight: yeah, I saw and installed some. Thanks for the reply, man. I'm cutting the topic for no1 cares, though.
  10. Yeah! sorry for necro, folks. but this very thought is chasing me. I'd believe Super Mutants with smth like a Door Shield, Diamond City Sefcurity with Riot Shield and something for BOS knights. Just imagine a SM-suicider, getting closer and closer to you while soaking bullet after bullet with his shield!.. That'd be a picture.
  11. Hi people. Got annoyed with food/water use and penalty system. so couple of questions to mod guys: 1. is there a possibility to make PC eat and drink automatically when he gets hungry/thirsty? I hate to be distracted all the time with messages like "ME HUNGRY" when I actually have a backpack full of foodz. So he could eat something with low-mid "food points" value to get his hunger meter low again (idk if food actually works this way, just thinking). Maybe some holotape-type configurator item that would set params for auto food and drink use? 'cause now it really just breaks game flow, nothing else. 2. is there a possibility to DELAY thirst penalty after using stimpack or alcohol for some time? It's really irritating. I mean, they could give us some time to deal with bad guys. instead we have to rush in our backpacks in search of SWEET WATERZ in the middle of fight. Or after I drink some Vodka, same thing. Thirst just SHOULD be delayed. 3. Aand maybe hunger/thirst cure should also take some time and not be instant? 4. And how much water a human being needs per day? My could easily have ~10 bottles/cans. which is about 5 liters. Which is weird. Okay, found mod for that.
