  1. Don't know if you are still having issues or resolved anything, but OBSE needs to have the Steam Overlay in game option enabled. I would go to your library, right click on Oblivion, select Properties in the menu, and under the General tab make sure that box is checked.
  2. I am having trouble getting dummyarrow to spawn a quiver of arrows. I have the correct list chosen for it( I think, I checked the count and it show it was 30, and when I hit preview it correctly shows a number of arrows that would make it into a quiver ). I am using the banditarrows one for the dummyarrow.
  3. Ever since I can remember, whenever I swim underwater, it is as if I am walking around on land. There is no underwater texture for my waters. I have no idea why, so I figured I would ask here. Is there an ini setting that handles that? I have re-installed W.A.T.E.R. many times so that may be the issue. Anyone have any info on this issue?
  4. @mike2977 I have. I'll give them props, it is way more stable now than it was when it first came out, but that is all. @ripple Disregard that first part. I know it does, why are you restating what you already said, all I was saying is that it does not matter to me their reasoning. OFC it is about money, and honestly that is the only argument I need. All issues that there are with the game are a root cause of money, if you look at the big picture. Shortcuts were taken here, staff was cut there, a different method of doing something, or the use of a certainsoftware was used because it costed less. I can go on and on, and I would be right on all those accounts. All I did was comment on how fortunate we are how they release SDKs for their games. You decided to tell me a reason for it which I couldn't care less about. You are confusing lol. No, you are missing the puspose of the thread. I started it, so I indeed know the purpose of this thread lol. And that is fine on your take on Bethesda, but this isn't the thread for everyone's opinions. AGAIN, this thread is to help shed some light on one issue I did some investigating in.
  5. @ripple If it doesn't work for you on your console, then I am sorry you are so unlucky. The console version is completey playable( as far as the Xbox 360 goes, I do not own a PS3, but I have heard it has serious issues so I wouldn't even bother with Skyrim on that system until they finished all their DLC, and have attempted to improve stability on that console ). Also, why should there be mod support for the game? That would be a waste of resources for any company, frankly. Also, to bring up the Creation Kit has no point to this conversation at all. Like I said, they are a company. Companies exist for money. If them releasing content and the tools to create whatever you want within the engine's scope to generate sales, that is fine by me. Really stating that is really redundant. This whole conversation is kind of redundant actually as I said in my previous post that it is all about the money. And about Skyrim, YES. Anyone who has played the game has gotten the same feeling. All well, such is the way of the world when a company desides to focus on the visuals a bit more, while adhearing to a deadline of releasing the game. honestly if you want to blame someone, give the blame where it is due, the parent company( Zenimax ). Anyways I have a point to make to this other guy now. @freemonkey92 Well then what you believe that constitutes as proof is not adhearant to what the legal system itself constitutes as proof. I can recreate the issue discussed over and over again with certain types of mods that add large amounts of static pieces( NOT TEXTURE MODS ). Also, whenever you see an update from Bethesda and in the changelog you see "memory optomizations and stability", this memory limit is improved. If you read the post again, you can see I am emphasizing on the memory issue that is related to putting in too many mods that add npcs, and static pieces above anything else. As for the feeback issue, you are wrong there also. It is called papyrus logging. It might not tell you everything that happened during the crash, but it can help you discover what scripts were running when the crash happened( although be aware, that the scripts in the log might not be the cause of the issue, it merely tells you what script was running when the crash occured ). You can also just run it and exit the game to get a log of what scripts are present in your game-save. I started playing Bethesda gamse since Morrowind, so I know what you mean, but that is how it is and this thread isn't your soapbox. This thread is to inform of an issue that I have learned a lot of from some great modders, and in some joint cases, have found out a bit about the issue. I am merely putting what I have found out here so people can see. If you would please keep any further disscusion about the company on a new thread created by you, I would be happy to share my thoughts further on the issue, but honestly it isn't going to help anything. Informative threads like this and the people contributing to it, along the great work of the modding community are what helps us further bring this issue to and end.
  6. Actually, there is no speculation whatsoever in this thread. This has all been proven before. Second, programmers, however hard they try, will most likely have crashes eventually. This is the reason for updates, like how Windows releases updates for your operating system, and how other programs on your computer get periodical updates for those issues that are reported. Even drivers get updates to fix crashes and to keep up with the ever so growing field of information technologies. Also, like every single other company that exists in this world, there are thigns called timelines that companies need to stick to. So Bethesda releases a buggy game, woop-dee-doo. Fortunately we have a community of modders that quicken the pace for such issues to be fixed. To say that Beth is all about the money is redundant. ALL companies are. If not they would fail due to not having enough funds to continue what they do. And if you didn't notice, Bethesda does release updates that improve performance and stability, along with bugfixes. Although they are not quick to do so, they do eventually fix issues. I for one am quite sick of people bashing Bethesda. They are a company, all companies do these these. THIS company does it a little more than others, but they amount of meat these games have that are releases pale in comparison to any other games out there. Our modding community for said games pale in comparison to any other games out there. We have it good. Wake up and smell the reality, or just stay away from these amazing works of art. They aren't for everyone =)
  7. Well I have some input/suggestions. In your description for the dangerous files, I would like to see in there something about unsupported mods as well. The reason is, I am going to suggest mods to put on that list, but it is because the mod author does not/cannot update his mod on the Nexus anymore. His mods DO NOT cause issues such as save bloat and game corruption. Theyt are memory intensive, and coupled with other large mods, it will provide CTDs. That isn't the point though, main thing, he can't update them here, but still supports/updates newer versions on the Steam workshop along with releasing new mods. thirteenoranges mods: Quest - No Mercy: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12024 Quest - The Bigger They Are: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12026 Quest - And the Realms of Daedra :http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12369 Quest - Sea of Ghosts :http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15862
  8. Already play the game with cleaned Update, Dawnguard, and Hearthfire masters. You are not supposed to clean Skyrim.esm because it is already cleaned.
  9. I am posting this to ask if anyone has found a workaround for the Legate Rikke bug( the one where she will not give you the dialogue option to report in )? I have never encountered this issue before, but in my latest playthrough, I have completed the main questline, along with all the faction quests. I have seemingly tried everything, but I cannot trigger the dialogue option.
  10. Wow, thank you very much! Kudos to you man. I used the console commands because I do not have any intentions of messing with those meshes, so thank you so much for this hahaha!
  11. I have recently ran into an issue with my player's eyes. I can see two big glowing orbs whenever I switch into thrid person. If I move side to side, I leave a glowing streak. Altough pretty cool, I do with to have my normal eyes back. As far as I know, this is not an issue with the eye texture mod I am using, because I disabled it, loaded up the game and still had these glowing orbs. I also can only see them when I pan the camera around to see my player's side/face. If anyone knows any thing about this issue, or can direct me somewhere that I might get some answers, I would really appreciate it.
  12. Just don't use it to save or make/edit the mod in any way lol.
  13. @weightofast Is it just in that direction? Have you tried going towards Riften/Windhelm to see if your game crashes going that way? If it does, then maybe you have a load of mods that pushing your system too far. If it is just in the area of Markarth, then there may be a mod conflict going on.
  14. Well Dawnguard is out! If anyone here is getting it right away that have a lot of the mods we discuss in this thread, I would appreciate it if you experience any issues that relate to Skyrim being overworked. I know that the 1.7 patch made some good improvemets with this issue, but I am kind of wary on getting it right away.
  15. @steve40 Yes, there are many reasons that the game CTDs, but this thread discusses this particular issue. I state in my first post that there are other reasons for CTDs, but I label the particular symptoms for the CTDs I describe in this thread. Maybe I will change this thread into an overall CTD possibilities and how to check for them. @tetradite Awesome, I will defiantly add it to the list. As a matter of fact, I have a list of mods I need to add to the thread. At a later time when I am more coherent hahaha.
  16. I wouldn't be asking those questions on the Nexus. The Nexus peeps do not tolerate pirating( argh ).
  17. I started my own thread about a couple weeks ago to spread some awareness about one aspect of instant CTDs and new game freezes at the start,l I hope some people here find it useful: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/729491-memory-taxing-mods-for-skyrim/page__pid__5877331__st__10#entry5877331
  18. Is the dailouge edited NPC dialouge, or is it custom dialouge you put into the game?
  19. What is your issue? Why can you only have one? Is it because you CTD with both of them on, or they alter the same area and make wierd crap happen/CTD when you get close to the area?
  20. Not from outside the states here, but honestly, watching these men's legacy burn and crumble around them, is fitting. The officials are setting an example that no degree of child abuse is ok, and I am 100% behind them. Even though the students also shared these victories, this goes to show that if something is going on, speak the f*** up. Children's well beings are in distress here, so if a group of men concealed these truths just for their damn legacy, then I say let that legacy burn to the ground. A legacy of football built upon the harming of children is a legacy that deserves to die.
  21. @Roentgens Also, I do not know if the author of Riverhelm had fixed some possible compatability issues with Whiterun Outskirts Market, since I did read in the comments section of his mod that there were some issues between the two. Although, I am not sure if the issues reported were due to people pushing their game too hard, since by the look of things, there is some distance between the two altered areas. Skyrim has such a temper though hahaha.
  22. So Bethesda has put up the beta for 1.7 which has seemed to have fix the edited npc dialouge bug that 1.6 introduced( according to Arthmoor who is spearheading the USKP now that Kivan is on reprieve ). Arthmoor is still investigating to see if the entire modified npc dialouge bug has been fixed. The patch states that is also provides some memory optomizations and stability. It seems now that the game can handle more resource heavy mods, but needs some investigating. I will look into what I can also throw at my game to make it blow up, but I would like to give a little note before well all try cramming new mods into our game. I would suggest making a note somewhere listing all your mods that you have right before this 1.7 patch( or just a list of the mods that are resource intensive ), and keep it for future referance. I was thinking that this patch could possibly be the foundation for the DLC coming up, and if we start getting Skyrim to its max, when the DLC rolls in, we may ned to backtrack to less resource intensive mods to be able to run the DLC. I do not konw if when they release the DLC it will come with its own optomizations, allowing us to play it with all our currently instaled mods, but just in case, DO THIS! It ma save you some time and headaches if there is need for this.
  23. Is there going to be newly implemented through this mod that affects Ethas in any? Such as gameplay mechanics, or other various actions that currently do not exist in Skyrim? I ask because there is so many other popular mods out there that affect mechanics, we wouldn't want there to be any incompatabilities. Also, along with the forst question, will there be any new weapons and armor, or will everything be used in vanilla Skyrim?
  24. @AustinScott That is funny you say that, because that is exactly how I know which mods are very resource intensive! I guess I should've posted those things to show how you can find out which mods are taxing up the system lol. I also use the MO, great tool, love it. Just waiting to see if the author updates it for SkyProc stuff to work through it. For whatever reason, the way MO tricks the game into seeing it's directory as the game directory does not sit well with programs that stem from SkyProc( i.e. Automatic Variants, ASIS, and SkyBash ).
