  1. Or you know people could just donate money to the author for the mod to recognise their work, sometimes I download mods and find that they just crash the game. So paying in advance for that would be really annoying, giving money when want to is a much better way and plus the fact mods are not necessarily essential for the game to work. As you can probably tell I'm neither for or against modders getting paid simply because it sometimes the mod doesn't warrant the need for a long period of time to be spent making it other times yeah. Plus some modders take their time whilst others chuck out incomplete files which don't work so why should they still get paid? Yeah you could introduce a restriction quota for those who don't pay but then that just seems rather harsh in my opinion. What if someone really likes the mods but is on a low income job or jobs and they want to play a modded skyrim? Simply put this system will allow the richer gamers to experience more content than those from poorer backgrounds don't forget games in themselves are expensive at times PS4 games tend to be around the £50/60 price range these days. Personally I don't want to be constantly forking out more money either. One way you could look at this is that if modders want to be paid then why not join a game development studio and work for them to begin with? I mean yeah its a very harsh way of looking at it but still a valid one just like saying they should be paid for the time they put into the mod, after all artists get commissions for pieces of art yet most people can draw but don't get paid for their own artwork. For now lets just stick with donations and put this issue to bed for a bit longer.
