  1. I thought about it for a while and I wondered if fallout 4 could be used to create a good story driven FPS in which the player is a member of a brotherhood squad. The prologue would take place in Anchorage, you are a soldier fighting the Chinese, following a series of skirmishes, and a power Armour segment, You return home to America. Unfortunately you cannot adjust to civilian life and quickly elect to get back to service, You would be assigned to serve under Captain Maxon, assigned to Mariposa Military Base, and you would witness the atrocities that drove him and his command to mutiny, three days before the bombs fell. Then the game would take a dramatic turn, and would follow your journey outside, in radiation suits into the devastated surroundings, with almost zero visibility from all the dust, looking for survivors, and trying to locate the government bunker that could sustain the unit. You would be slowly introduced to the mechanics of the total conversion in this prologue, there is a home base, where you pool your resources, exchange for brotherhood scrip, and load up on limited gear for expeditions into the wilderness. The home base would feel alive, in the prologue it is improvised, dingy, the atmosphere bleak, and the cots full of burn victims and those suffering from radiation poisoning. You would be the fourth member of a four-man fire-team that is sent out on the missions. The team would move coordinated, like a proper military unit and make heavy use of scripted animations to react in a life-like way along the somewhat linear levels. Following the prologue you would then play as the ancestor of that soldier, living in the bunker you helped to seize and colonize, which is now developed, expanded, well supplied. You'd be able to explore much of the place, it would be made alive and breathing, it would feature a motor-pool, firing range, quartermaster, workshop, a grub farm, a reactor, the barracks, medical facilities, laboratories, leadership and administration, and anything else the brotherhood would need. The culture of the brotherhood has also changed with the generation. They have become technology coveting and pseudo religious, and bowing to the wise council of the elders. You would be a fly on the wall to many disagreements and arguments, the elders would mediate. You would get to know a colorful cast of potential fire-team members. After a while you would be given command, and be able to take men out to secure technology, fight super-mutants etc in non-linear levels. Many of these expeditions taking place on large, purpose built maps for the mission with side objectives. similar to that of fallout 1-2 and tactics. Instead of merely following you, the three members you take with you will move spaced out from you, in an arrowhead formation with you at the point by default, or go where you tell them to. Important missions will see you serving under squad leaders in quasi-linear levels again, allowing you to approach the mission in the way relevant to your play style by using the dialogue system (stealth or blowing s*** up for instance) I don't know what you guys think of the viability of all this, maybe it is too ambitious and relies heavily on animation, scripting and voice talent that simply isn't available or interested, but i'm interested to see if anyone has any ideas about it.
  2. Fallout tactics had a small shoulder cape. It won't hinder movement and lt looks pretty fly. Plus we intend to fully exploit the havok physx of fallout 4 So loincloths, cowls and capes are to be expected. Can do a variant without the cape or with slightly different style pauldrons to mix and match.. It's something I considered. I'd also like to be able to have the player dye the cape any colour they want somehow. Whereas the east and west brotherhood are closed off the mid-west is open to tribals. Armours would have warpaint, the head is shaped in the visage of a hairy deathclaw etc.
  3. You could try getting a picture of the frame and adding small components to it with photoshop to see how thin you can make it. It could be accomplished if you try not to cover all of the frame and allow many gaps in it.
  4. ...You want a niche cowboy power armour.. for yourself.. and you want someone else to make it for you. Have you tried Nifscope?
  5. It's my concern that without properly simulated suspension, any sort of vehicle would look very very cheesy. And motorcylces require leaning into corners, and cannot stay upright stationary without a boot on the ground, So ATVs are better.
  6. Well that's where the main quest comes in really. It's another incentive to allign with the institute, for selfish reasons.
  7. I think I will inevitably go with the fact that they are frozen in time, after recieving a colossal wound. to the chest. They died of shock instantly, and are, legally dead but the brain is perfectly in-tact. So you have to build a Vessel for the brain. I like the nightmare idea too. Echoes of the day when shaun was taken and your spouse was shot repeating every time you sleep
  8. Still a horse. Because there's not exactly Highway Maintenance anymore... Maybe an ATV would be better than a motorcycle. Or maybe one of these Darpa Robot things.http://static6.businessinsider.com/image/53c97b356bb3f7146b86591e/15-astounding-technologies-darpa-is-creating-right-now.jpg
  9. There should have been horses in new vegas. Lore be damned. And besides. They could be from a vault. Vaultech did all sorts of weird stuff.
  10. To expand on that why not make craftable turrets that can be made with any heavy weapon, including mods. (minus the junk jet I guess) and placed anywhere in the settlement, AND thhat can be mounted on your very own custom vertibird (with tribal warpaint and a companion/pilot)
  11. I'm guessing the situation in australia is basically mad max. Sure they weren't the target of many nukes, but the climate change still f***ed them up. Dry as balls there. So society collapsed and were reduced to eating maggots out of corpses and old dogfood and sucking moisture from the shady side of camel dung I would think. A mod set in australia would be interesting but honestly mad max already did it. It would be an interesting mod in the availability of guns and such being lower. So being substituted with melee and crossbows etc. But unless you can capture the expanse of the outback and add vehicles to make it more manageable i'm not really sure. America's kind of boring, in that there are more guns and ammo than people and finding some doesn't really give you the same satisfaction as it would in a non-gun crazy nation.
  12. Well do you have any examples of your work?
