  1. Once you're far enough ahead of them, an NPC will run to keep up with you. Whether they're on foot or horseback.
  2. Don't Martin and Jauffre both mount horses for that bit? Or were you just impatient and started riding off on horseback without letting them get to the stables?
  3. I'm actually hoping that TES V will be set in both Elsweyr and Black Marsh, operating with a sort of Cyrodiil/Shivering Isles link (eg. you can fast travel to anywhere in the province/world you're currently in, but you can't fast travel between them). It would satisfy people who want to see more variation in the setting, Elsweyr is a desert and if you want to know just how bad of a swamp Black Marsh is, go to UESP and have a read of 'The Argonian Account'. It'll also allow the story to focus on the two beast races, the Khajiit and Argonians. Anyway, that's just my thoughts on the setting.
  4. I'd like to see the next TES game to be set in Elsweyr and Black Marsh, possibly with the Trans-Niben (Everything in Cyrodiil south of Bravil) as a playable area as well. Other than the setting, I'd like to see the next TES game to have a skill list like this: Combat Heavy Armour Blade (short sword, longsword, claymore) Blunt (Same as in Oblivion) Armourer Athletics Block (Same as in Oblivion) Polearm (spears, halberds, staves*) Hand-to-Hand (Same knockout system as Morrowind) Off-hand (for dual-wielding)[could possibly go under Stealth instead] Stealth Acrobatics Light Armour Small Blade (Daggers, etc) Marksman Sneak Persuasion (Speechcraft & Merchantile) Security (Morrowind-style) Magic Unarmoured Illusion Alchemy Conjuration Enchant Alteration Destruction Mysticism Restoration *Melee staves have the same knockout effect as hand-to-hand (knocks them out first and only damages their health if you keep hitting them while they're on the ground).
  5. No; too many games use this already. The skill system's fine as-is, as long as they bring back the unarmoured skill and polearms (this includes using staves as more than 'spell-rifles'). At the moment, Monk characters and the like are only useful with either a moded robe or by enchanting one with a shield spell which is only going to be about 8% (from an early Sigil Stone) or would need a decent skill in alteration and access to the Arcane University (a deep wallet and a Soul Trap spell would be helpful for this as well). Oh, and they need to bring back dual-wielding as well, the current mods just don't cut it. Wagons would be good as well as somewhere to store your loot when you're on a long dungeon-delving trip, or for somewhere for companions to keep up ('Just sit in the back you lazy archer! Don't make me come back there! Hey; keep out of that, I locked it for a reason!'). And bring back throwing knives (not the throwing stars; I never really like throwing stars [not just in TES, but in anything])
  6. I can just imagine a powerful mage standing on a hilltop and firing that spell down at a huge battle. *six hours later* Mage: Damn, everyone left hours ago and it's only reaching the ground now. *insert ridiculously huge explosion* Mage: Hey! Where'd Tamriel go?
  7. I think Daggerfall had something to do with politics in High Rock or something. I know the player had to deliver something to the High Rock royal family (or its equivalent, I read this on wiki a couple of months ago) for the Emperor. Canoes made out of leaves, how's that? And I think Ebonheart was the place I was thinking of; I think it was somewhere to the west of Vivec, but my Vvardenfell geography (and memory) sucks.
  8. I wasn't talking about the prison ship that brings you to Vvardenfell at the start of Morrowind; I was talking about boats and canoes (sp?) that you can hire to quickly travel to other parts of the island. I can't think of the names of the places, but there was a city that had a large dragon statue at the port (probably of Akatosh, but I can't remember) and the owner of one of the ships there was willing to take you to another city for a certain fee. THAT'S the system I'm talking about. I'm suggesting that you can use fast-travel to get around the province that you're in, but not between the provinces. Eg: Max the Imperial has been given a Fighter's Guild job from a guild hall in Valenwood where he has to help someone on Summerset Isle. He can fast travel to one of Valenwood's western port cities, but not to Summerset itself. From there, he has to either buy passage across or purchase a ship to get there himself. If he already owns the ship, he just needs to get onboard and cast off.
  9. I have my own theory about where TES V will be set; Summerset Isle. The reason: daedra worship's been becoming more prevalent. What's been a common group of characters that the player can interact with in the Elder Scrolls games (I don't know if you could interact with them in Arena or Daggerfall): the Daedric Princes. The only flaw in this is that Summerset Isle's very small; only about half the size of Colovia. Which leads me to think that it'll be the first game since Arena (or Daggerfall, I don't know what the playable areas were in that) to have more than one playable province. Now they've already done Cyrodiil, so what's the only other province near enough to Summerset Isle to be used as a playable area? The answer is, of course, Valenwood. By bringing back the boat transport that was in Morrowind (or even allowing the player to own/hire a ship themselves), you have yourself as easy way to and from the Isle. Personally, I just want to see Summerset Isle; I'm curious about what it looks like.
  10. It only happens in Oblivion, the keyboard works fine with everything else (it's a Logitech G15 if that makes any difference). I've tried the shift thing you mentioned and I'm still getting the same problem.
  11. I have the same problem, and I unplugged the reciever while the game was open and it still didn't work. Also, for some reason; both it and the ' key end up putting the wrong symbol into type boxes like when you're enchanting something. I don't know why, but instead of putting ' it puts : and I'm not holding shift or anything.
