  1. The easiest way to do it would probably be to make a quest that has an NPC that will give the house key as a reward for the player giving them a set amount of gold. I have only used the CS for small mods that add shops or items and have never made a quest so can't give you any first hand advice. That being said this tutorial is clear and easy to follow and should at least send you off in the right direction: https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Oblivion_quest_tutorial Good luck out there :}
  2. Yeah OBSR sometimes interacts strangely with the game, I had to recently get rid of it because it suddenly disabled all of my combat sounds, glad to hear you figured it out though.
  3. Try getting onto a horse, if the mod is installed correctly it should add the spell to your spellbook if you get on a horse without it.
  4. Most of the time this happens [and deleting the .ini does not work] I generally just reinstall the game fresh, Bethesda games are not the most stable of games, especially when modded. Hopefully someone that has gone through the same thing [and not just nuked it and started over] will come along and help out, sorry I could not be more help. [Edit] Looked around on Google for a while but did not come up with much. Try disabling your mods temperately then resetting the Oblivion.ini, if you have made any significant hardware changes [or updated your DirectX] then the game will need to regen the .ini. A few people have mentioned that setting their video card to default settings seamed to help. It might be worth it to try to run the game vanilla and if it runs then start activating mods one at a time. I found a few other posts of people with similar issues but there are no resolutions posted so I assume that the poster just reinstalled their game. But I listed above all the stuff that was mentioned just in case it works for you.
  5. Yeah I tried OBMM install and I keep getting errors and crashes when I try to import the Omod scripts. I have only used Wrye Bash for Fallout games, and even then it was only for the patch and adding tags, though I will look into it. I tried to install it manually [which is how I generally install mods] but because the author insists that we use the obmm install method I was not able to find detailed install instructions anywhere and my game got messed up, a bunch of the doors in the IC where in German, large parts of the cities 'overlapped' and where only accessible in a 'one way' manner [mostly landscape issues, kinda like when you 'fall' into a rock or behind a wall and get stuck] where you can see and even walk into an area but when you turn around you can see though the ground. Thanks for the info about the OS as well.
  6. This happened to me a while back, I fixed it by deleting the Oblivion.ini file [located in Documents\My Games\Oblivion] and with how modded the game is you should launch the game with obse_launcher.exe instead of the launcher. Hope one of these two options helps out, happy gaming.
  7. I would double check that you have OBSE installed and are launching your game from the obse_loader.exe in the main folder. I can't say for sure as I don't know what mods you are using but generally once modded Oblivion needs to be launched through OBSE [as a good amount of mods require OBSE in order to run] Hope that helps a little bit, otherwise good luck :D
  8. I recently found a pretty cool looking mod [better Cities] but it requires a tool I have never used, the TES Mod Manager, after downloading and installing it [into my Oblivion directory] I tried to run it and it got as far as letting me choose which game I wanted to run the program for. After I pick Oblivion and hit start it gives me the following error: ------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, June 24, 2017 - 5:52:43 AM1.6.17 (Safe mode)OS version: Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0 Type: System.ArgumentExceptionError message: The directory name C:\Users\nw\AppData\Roaming\obmm is invalid.Stack trace: at System.IO.FileSystemWatcher.set_Path(String value) at OblivionModManager.MainForm.InitializeComponent() at OblivionModManager.MainForm..ctor() at OblivionModManager.Program.Main(String[] args) ------------------------------------------------------------- The above is copied out of tmm_crashdump.txt, the OS listed is wrong as well [i have Win 8.1 Pro x64]I have the GOTY version of the game, have it installed in a non default location and currently have no mods installed. I tried to run is as admin and tried to make the directory it lists [C:\Users\nw\AppData\Roaming\obmm] but it still won't start. If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate the help.
