  1. Exploring the feasibility of making dead NPC's start to decompose after a short time. I was thinking simple, along the lines of just texture edits, but model edits would not be ruled out if it did not make implementation any more difficult. Possibly using the same trigger that starts the buzzing flies. Possible issues I do not have enough knowledge about: can a blanket base texture swap (skin) be achieved on all NPC's including named ones or would there need to be an additional script (or whatever) for every single named NPC as wellHow many types of corpses (deathclaw, supermutant, dog, etc) besides human have the trigger for buzzing fliesHow badly would this interfere with something like the Cross Crit Gore-verhaul?ajs52698 attempted something like this in his mod Dead Actor Decay but seems to have abandoned it. To be honest it goes way overboard for what I want to achieve (Make people that are supposed to be dead for a few days look like they are dead for a few days)
  2. The Bug: NPC's, companions included, when equipped with a Gauss rifle will immediately emanate the sound of the "charged up" Gauss rifle. Once this happens you can never get rid of it. Equipping / unequpiping, having them fire / reload, etc. Unequipping then leaving them for a few days. Nothing works. The character is permanently left with that "charged up" sound looping for eternity until they die. This is 100% more annoying when your favorite Companion happens somehow gets their hands on a Gauss rifle. I have scoured the internet (some Reddit, Steam and Nexus links below) So far no fixes whatsoever. There has to be a simple fix. I'm pretty sure I could stop the looping in console. Drop console, click on the NPC and enter command. The problem is I have no idea what command I could use. Does anyone here have an idea? 3. This thread now has the second highest amount of responses of all "mod talk" topics. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/forum/3505-fallout-4-mod-talk/?sort_key=posts&sort_by=Z-A I'd have to say that this is one of the most popular projects with gamers on NexusFO4. I sincerely hope you will be able to find a way to finish it.
  4. It was updated days ago http://f4se.silverlock.org/
  5. The F4SE updates are pretty quick. It will not update automatically. You will have to get it from the website http://f4se.silverlock.org/ it is on build 0.6.6 which is only compatible with Fallout 1.10.75 new Fallout build is 1.10.82 so when the F4SE page updates to that number download it
  6. Yup. Played this morning, left my house for the afternoon came back and cannot play FO4. New version is 1.10.82
  7. Third play through. I will state upfront I do not care for the Automatron DLC at all. I only have it installed because so many of my mods are either "No DLC" or "All DLCs". I did NOT want to do the caravan quest which starts the whole Automatron quest line knowing it would start the non-stop spawning of Rust Devils. I accidentally ran into the caravan location at night running from a radscopion (survival, lev 20, radscorpion is waaaay out of my league). Said NO to helping ADA. Did not matter, game started the quest anyway. Thought I was safe because I did not pursue the quest. And sure as death and taxes, every single enemy encounter since has been the Rust Devils. Every. Single. One. All the random encounters. All the attacks on the settlements. Pretty much anything that was not specifically scripted as a certain type of enemy is now Rust Devils. No raiders. No Gunners. No Super Mutants. No Institute. Just those damn Rust Devils. To add insult to injury, They give me no ammo I need. I hate their armor (it looks stupid). I don't use robots so those parts are worthless. They only exist to drain me of all my ammo and supplies while offering little return. Plus the same enemy over and over gets monotonous. This is seriously sucking all the fun out of the game for me. Can any tell me how to edit the spawn rates of the Rust Devils? Or, is it possible to deactivate the quest so they just disappear? I have 0% intention of following the Automatron quest line, Like I said I just have it installed as a necessary evil required by many of my mods.
  8. A. Vault Meat has black hair, not blond. B. Shadman does not have the "exclusive rights" to a particular hair style. Even in the game itself (Fallout 4) you have 2 major characters with this hairstyle, Rowdy and Magnolia. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Rowdy http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Magnolia
  9. Very simple question. I made 2 simple texture replacement mods before Nexus Mod Manager was a thing. The zip files have the entire folder structure starting at the "data" folder, so back in the day you could extract (drag n drop) the data folder to the "Fallout New Vegas" (or Fallout 3) folder and everything would be in place. The question is will NMM handle this just fine or will I need to update the files? I have gotten a couple of questions about it no working with NMM and I currently have neither FO3 or FONV installed at tne moment files in question https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/61656 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/21880
  10.     LOL. Well, that's kinda the argument from a coder's viewpoint. It's an old, old problem. I remember people scoffing at Windows. "Why would would you need all that extra overhead? It doesn't do anything you can't already do in DOS". For your average person, opening the console, typing commands closing console, checking out what you want to see, opening console, typing commands, closing console, getting back to work, opening console........ to infinity is just annoying . I mean, why not have the whole game console driven? It's not a big deal using the console when doing a task like adding something to your inventory, but doing something that will be intensely repetitious (zooming view in and out while building) gets to be cumbersome. distilling the quoted answer even more, those who could make the mod don't really care to make the mod for their own use, so it never gets made. About 90% of mods are made by someone who wanted it in their game.
  11. Not trying to funny or annoying but what are you exactly referring to? if you mean the default power armors - those are androgynous. They are used by males and females. I know of no "male only" skins for the default armors.
  12. I've actually looked high and low for a 3rd person build view. Not sure exactly why the developers decided to lock your view into first person. This has been brought up before but I have never seen a solid answer on why it would not be possible / nobody would want to do it. Sure would be nice to be able to scroll out like normal to see if you've aligned something correctly
