You'll most likely have to make a snowy version through the texture or by using the decal shader in the NIF and applying vertex alpha where you don't want the snow to show. You can PM me about the latter being that I am randomly around right now and could talk you through it when I get home in a few hours. Your choice. :) Nice to see you're still around too Ishara!

Edit: Solved. Thanks N7R.

It looks like your distant LOD textures are doing something weird. That is why you are not getting it close up. As things slowly fade into detail, they are becoming more detailed and are using close-up textures. I'm assuming removing textures\terrain\tamriel if you have the loose version would also fix your issue. That way you would get to keep the close-up versions.

Gonna' say HD Enhanced Terrain?

In response to post #44235450. #44237245, #44239895 are all replies on the same post. Because ads are that lucrative, Nexus clearly doesn't require any sort of alternative direct donation system. Maybe gofundme should set up this new system for people like Hugh Mungus, so they can benefit even more?

'I don't like X opinion, so it's whining.' Leros, people can 'whine' or complain about what they want. If they weren't allowed, how would they express their opinions? By talking to themselves? By muttering under their breath? You are doing the same right now, but no one else can because it doesn't aline with your own views? Ok then. It was a bad idea as it was truly built out of corporate greed. It was an attempt to profit off the work of their user base, while watching some extra revenue roll in for doing absolutely nothing; basically, it's YouTube content ID. It's easy to work out why you should have never been a part of it from the very start.

That's how companies like EA keep getting away with nickle and dime anti-consumer practices. But no, let's not go on about it! Not the modder's fault? Did Bethesda hold a gun to their head? The spin is making me feel dizzy.

As expected, these interviews have already turned into: "My work is incomprehensible! Wow downloads! I love my users! I love vidya games!" This is why interviews with users who are already established are just plain boring. As I said before, you need to seek and spotlight the lesser-known creative talent, as well as the programmers whom don't get enough praise for the tools we just can't live without. I mean, I don't hate any authors listed here obviously, but we already know what Elinora will talk about (for example). It's not like she is going to tell us that she decided to make mods after her stint of nightly crime fighting was becoming too dangerous.

SSE NIF compatibility issues
CaptainCockerel replied to icecreamassassin's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
Does any of your NiTriShapeData have normals disabled? I just compared two meshes and the one with it disabled caused a CTD. -

Hi BlindJudge, I would honestly recommend interviews with lesser-known mod authors and software developers. There are lots of mods on the Nexus that don't get much attention, but they have had lots and lots of effort gone into them. It's easy to just pick out mod authors from the top 100 and have them iterate how good they are, but I'd like you to search around and give attention to the other end of the spectrum. Alenet (for example) is not as well known around Skyrim as he was with Oblivion these days. I'd like to see some 'blasts from the past' as well now I mention it. If anyone here has any suggestions, it would be interesting to look them up and have a look at their work!

I never liked the name 'bod33' anyway. ;) Here you go Axel, the Slower Dissipation download: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/14313/? -
The only problem with layers is I wish they would group obiects by type per cell. If I could turn off a static layer or decal layer I think I'd be okay. :) No problem either. I decided to release an update to get it out the way, but I haven't touched the plugin so I can still add to it without copying references. I'm just glad I have someone who is experienced with editing cells to help me. I have always hated using the CK, which doesn't help matters; it's just really clunky and horrible in a lot of areas. It's fine to upload here. If someone wants to download a lock with floating water, they are welcome. ;)

Fallout 4-Normal and Specular Maps
CaptainCockerel replied to gernash's topic in Fallout 4's Creation Kit and Modders
Hi gernash! Thought that dpi thing sounded familiar. ;) You won't be editing static meshes unless you get your users to use the INI edit "bUseCombinedObjects=0" which gives a performance hit. At least I think that is what you are saying with the "as a replacer to the in game mesh" line? -
Cheers bud, really appreciated again. I am going to order some more RAM later in the week, going for another 8gb to 16gb, so then I'll see if it is the HDD for sure. I'll try your suggestion, although I am sure I tried it before while trying to tweak the water, but it didn't work too well. I ended up making my own world area to test everything. It is weird though, becuase I can run other more complex programs rather easily. Please post it here if you like as my inbox is usually locked. I opened it for you and got a few people ask me to embed videos and what have you. I'd rather they ask me in the comments really as I don't have enough time to reply to everyone in my inbox. Mostly though, it's questions I have already answered in the description. ;D

Don't know if you will read this Chuck, or willing to help further, but I just managed to load it up in a tiny window after a quick defrag. It crashed again before I could do anything, but pushing those gaps up from that group would be fine because at least it will fix that right? On the unique lock piece, it looks like it could be lined up with the other pieces, but I get the water will stick through said lock. This would be no problem though because I can cut that off in a 3D program. Does that sound like the fix or am I missing something?

Please Help... So Frustrated.
CaptainCockerel replied to RS13's topic in Fallout 4's Creation Kit and Modders
Do you have Skyrim? It's possible you could try the FonixData from the Skyrim Creation Kit and it may "see" it. I'm sure you can probably get hold of that CK "unofficially" if you don't own the game, but I am not endorsing anything. If not, I'll see if I can upload it for you later (just woke up). -
Haha! I would be shocked normally, but with Bethesda, anything is possible! This was the Forest Grove one and not the other smaller one, yes (I honestly have not played in a while)? I really appreciate you Chuck, thank you for all your help; I'm sure quite a few people will be happy. I am meant to be asleep now, but someone's house alarm just went off for two hours and my head is ringing. ;D. I mean... :( Edit: Text and sentence fixes.

Please Help... So Frustrated.
CaptainCockerel replied to RS13's topic in Fallout 4's Creation Kit and Modders
Make sure you have removed every last file/folder associated with the kit, I think I had a similar problem. If that doesn't work, perhaps it is possible for someone to upload it separately for you (not sure on policies here)? I would but I am just goimg to bed and on mobile. You can pull the Creation Kit folder out and then uninstall Bethesda.Crasher and manually install it yourself. -
You can find a material editor here on the Nexus (sorry no link I am on mobile). Extract all the materials from Bethesda in the accociated BA2 first, open the gauntlet BGSM, find the right tab and change the filepath to your texture path, then save it with a custom name. Now in your NIF file, find the BGSM string and repoint it to your file. If none of that works for unknown reasons, just delete the BGSM string in the NIF and repoint your textures manually in the texture set. You won't get as much control for parameters, but you sound like you are just repointing anyway.

I'm assuming here that the gap in the video is causing the player to walk under the water (the water is just not aligned properly and needs manual movement and snapping). I'm not certain if the water planes are part of the precombined meshes system, but I don't think so. I think, before, I have only fixed water by changing the water type in the cell (cells which cause slowdown, but have not caused me to not be able to edit them). This was done via the cell menu and nothing needed to be moved manually.
