Ya i've done a lot of debugging and my final result looks like a problem with the motherboard. Thanks for the advice though.

I still have frequent crashes though I'm not sure what the deal is can't tell if its the witcher or a combination of my pc and the witcher gah... need to buy and new motherboard and rebuild

Kudos to all those that helped fixed it. I had to re-install and then install the patch while not connected to the internet. It still crashed when loading but second try got through and i saved it :) Thanks!

Fun new problem everyone haha it just keeps updating... left my computer on when i went out three hours later still updating just keeps loading and installing the same patch...

You're right Avast is better I just had a free few months with AVG so i tested it out. Ok I'm going to reinstall and see what happens. Also I used the tweak guide and some other stuff from EVGA i don't think that is effecting the crashes though.

update I tried turning of my 3D vision drivers and turning down my memory texture settings in game no luck.

Hey, So i've already done a lot of research and have had no luck. At the moment the game crashes when loading the next part of the game after you are leaving Flotsam on the boat. I've already done the bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa 3072 fix with no luck. I've tried play with no background programs running other than AVG which I can't turn off for whatever reason. Also I know I have above the minimum system requirements, I'm running a 560 Nividia, 6 gigs of ram, an i7, and a Flamingblade GTI motherboard. I have been experiencing problems with my motherboard but I haven't had these affect my loading to a new part of the game before. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you,
