The more torture in the game, the better it will be.

Shows how sick they must have been not to have considered the demand there'd be for it.

Working racks are close to the top of my Skyrim mod wishlist, alongside being able to knock out NPCs and put them on the rack, or end up on one myself if there was a capture-instead-of-death option for fights. Idealy, the ability to capture quest givers and torture the relevant information out of them instead of having to play nice and work with/for them like a hero would be part of any working rack mod. Edited to add that classic horizontal racks with solid bases instead of straps might be easier to position models on, and create animations for operating them: the wheel on the vanilla rack is quite small, and quite badly placed for the amount of effort that'd be needed to turn it.

I haven't the faintest idea how to do this myself, so I'm posting it as a request here: For someone to convert the female Royal Vampire Armor into a classic medieval dress-and-bodice outfit. The bodice and dress top are already there in the vanilla armor, but this covnersion would need everything else removed, such as the belt, bracers, gloves, cloak etc, and a full length skirt added as an extension of the top.

Alternative start using Creation Kit
DarkPoserGirl replied to shamanwise's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I've been trying to work out something similar: a simple mod that rewrites the start of MQ101, but I'm having trouble working out how to script it. I'm getting the hang of putting quests together, but the scripting is still casuing problems for me. This is basically the sequence I'm tryng to make: 1 - Chosing to start a new game takes the player directly to Helgen. 2 - Once the player has been loaded, the race selection/character creation menu appears. 3 - When the player finishes by chosing their name, the game autosaves. The exact location in Helgen isn't important at the moment, and neither is the player's clothing, or what happens after the autosave: I just need to get these 3 steps to work, and then I can build on it from there, so any suggestions or help would be welcome. -
If you're going to be adding the mod in separate parts, will the first ones be Bruma, Imerpial City and Skingrad to make a corridor along the Silver Road abd Gold Road to join up Skyrim with your Valenwood mod?

Any mod that expands the world south for more Oblivion goodness.

LE A mod that allows me to play a good character

I think the game is designed in such a way that you can either engage in genocide in the towns OR do the quests. I don't think it was meant that you'd be able to do both. That was my point about it being limited: even if you don't go the whole way of riding into a town as a slaughtering warlord, the game still doesn't leave any openings for a bandit/outlaw to terrorize a district and still make progress with quests by intimidating and kidnapping NPCs instead of being nice to them. I would absolutely love to have a mod that let us knock out NPCs (maybe if the final killing blow is with fists and not weapons?) and make the popup window ask us if we wanted to search them like it does for normal dead bodies, or to kidnap them, and bring them back to our hideout/lair. A knockout ability would also be useful for taking care of guards to sneak into places or to get rid of pursuers if you didn't want your bounty to get too high by killing them. -

IMO, the evil route is severely limited and has more restrictions than the goody-two-shoes route. My biggest complaint is needing to be nice to quest NPC 99% of the time, and when you have a big bounty, they all turn hostile and you can't make anymore progress, and most of them are unkillable so we can't even search their corpses if they have an item we need to continue the quests, and pickpocketing is hard when they're all hostile. There should be a mod that lets evil players continue quests even when the quest NPCs become enemies, so we can subdue the unklillable ones, then torture the information out of them. The way it is now is very unsatisfying: your bounty is high, you come to a village needing to find an NPC who's the next stage of a quest, the guards atatck you, the villagers join in, you slaughter them, you find the quest NPC, but they're hostile and unkillable, the quest comes to a crashing halt because you're evil enough to murder the whole village, but apparently you wouldn't dream of hurting someone who has some information you want. -
The biggest crime in Skyrim is Bethesda putting a torture rack model in the game as decoration and not as a working item! I mean, they give us 1) NPCs who betray us and/or annoy us 2) a way of knocking enemies down but not always killing them 3) a bound prisoner/escort animation 4) a private torture chamber 5) a torture rack model 6) tons of screams and shouts in the audio files...but they just didn't think to join the dots...

This isn't a mod request, only a mod quesion, becasue I haven't tried any serious mod-making work before. My question is: when the new construction kit comes out, how practical/easy would it be to use data from Oblivion in Skyrim? What I mean by that is expanding Skyrim to the south, using the environments, architecture etc from Oblivion to include all of Cyrodiil and make a mash-up of the two games, leaving out any quests from Oblivion that clashed with the Skyrim story (the main Oblivion quest, the Oblivion Dark Brotherhood quest line etc), and rewriting any others that had a passing mention to any situation that didn't match the Skyrim story. This would also include replacing all the Oblivion NPCs with the newer Skyrim NPC models, and retexturing places and objects when needed. I think it would be great to be able to play Skyrim while still living in somewhere like Battlehorn Castle, and go riding over the Jerall Mountains to do quests there, but sitll be able to ride to Imperial City too.

I was looking through some mods yesterday to see if anyone had made stuff that was similar to what I was thinking, and I found this one, which has something quite like the first stage of my idea - http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23862 It has an alternative where you can respawn at an inn or chapel when you're killed, or respawn in prison if you're killed while you have a bounty on your head, and that's ALMOST perfect, apart from it being a blanket respawn, so even if you were killed in the middle of nowhere, you'd still end up in prison if you had a bounty on your head, which isn't very realistic - my idea would mean you'd only end up in prison if you were killed by guards, or maybe even if you were killed inside a city. And I also found this one, which at its base is similar to my idea too - http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14671 It gives you different shackles in prison that have different effects depending on your bounty as well as increasing the length of time you're in jail and giving you some stat penalties too, but it's missing the actual torture part of my idea. I think it'd also be VERY cool if there was a more complex sentencing system for crimes, so that stealing from or killing peasants had a much lower effect than stealing from or killing people higher up in society, and gave you a much smaller bounty, because the standard system is lovely and equal, treating all victims as the same no matter what class they were from, it's not very suitable for the middle ages fantasy setting.

I'd LOVE it if there was a chance we could get tortured in prison! I've no idea how easy it is to mod the game, because I've not been playing it very long - but it'd be great if paying the fine meant you'd end up in the normal cells, as you were being cooperative and maybe even a bit repentant about your arrest - but if you refused to pay, or couldn't pay, and were then defeated, instead of "dying", you'd be dragged off to the nearest prison and be given a thorough going over in the torture chamber. The type of torture and length of time you spent there could be decided by how big your bounty was, and how many guards you'd killed or injured in the town, or even in your whole career, if your infamy was high enough that you were a known criminal everywhere. The torture could go from whipping, through hot irons, the wooden horse and strappado right the way to the rack, depending on how infamous you were. Like I said, I've no idea how easy a mod like that would be to make, but I know there are quite a few very cool dungeon poses already available, and a few devices, although sadly no rack, that's always been my favorite - but I guess the poses and devices would have to be animated too, not just static, which would be more work.
