  1. No problems, it took me a while to figure it out myself.

    Good luck in the big MT!

    A side note; I'm not sure if it will crash every time you enter and exit (I think is just the first time), and i think (not 100%) that you can re enable them once you are in OWB or HH etc. It might just be that first transition that causes problems.

    As for corrupted saves, I don't even know how to detect them :(

    It's a problem that worries me to this day,

    But I think you should be alright, timescale changes and weather mods shouldn't really cause corruption. (the weather might act strange for a little while after you disable though, e.g. cloudless skies until you rest for an hour)

  2. All too true Fmod.

    And yes really ModelV, :laugh:

    Of course "school" in the contemporary sense would just be ridiculous, hell there aren't enough children around anyway. I mean more like newly made libraries dedicated to science, or history, etc. Also along the lines of a university lecture/tutorial, where known "experts" sell the secrets to their trade. Or even just something as simple as teaching each other, like training in oblivion.

  3. I had a look through the nexus but wasn't very successful,

    I'm looking for a mod or mods that add some basic job style quests for all alignment types.

    E.G. Courier, drug dealer, mercenary, bodyguard, etc.

    I know about new vegas bounties 1 & 2, but they cause weird problems on my pc, and also that's also just 1 job type.

    Can anyone point me in the right direction or tell me of any upcoming mods of this sort? Even if they are repetitive etc, I'll still check em out.

    ( P.S. I thought the pornstar mod was a funny idea (funny because of the reference to fallout 2), but that is also kind of a niche job.)

  4. "Personally I think the New Vegas Medical clinic is Vegas's hospital. The hospital not being on the strip itself I think is a flook by the developers or possibly that the auto-doc is too difficult to move from the clinic.

    Anyway Benny says that they get Medical as a benefit so either there are clinics in the casinos that they just didnt put in or they use the followers."

    Yeah, I was just thinking that, in my last post was actually going actually to say; for arguments sake we'll just say consider there to be a first aid center (or room) hidden away in the casinos somewhere. They just aren't there in the game.

    It does make house seem a little less weird. At least he's concerned with their health.

    Don't even get me started on the lack of schooling around, there's just various forms of indoctrination to choose from, barring MAYBE House.

  5. Ah yes, the massive hole in fallout where a "gangster" character falls right through.

    I'd thumbs this up, just because there isn't enough choice to be a chem slinging gangster, or in this case an outlaw gang member.

    More "bad guy" choices and stories would be fantastic. I hope this gets taken up.

  6. Timescale adjuster was causing crashes for me when starting HH i think?

    Try losing that for the entry into OWB..

    That and put OWB below HH, not halfway into the load order.

    If there are still crashes, post again.

    Also that looks like a really old version of Project Reality, I had lag and crash issues due to project reality, that may also be it.

    But definitely try loading without Imps Timescale first.

  7. What parts are you concerned with most?

    I don't use fook so I'm not sure what all the change are, but there is definitely overlap between PN and fook, so you'll have to decide which is "more important" to win the conflicts.

    Then you can run a conflict filter in FNVEdit (with all the mods in question installed) and pick and choose what you want to do with the conflicts (I know it might be a lot of work) by either; creating a patch (or using your merged patch) of the two and editing the values that didn't get fixed by merge patching.

  8. LoL, you just gotta get past the thugs to get there, assuming you are injured at the time too :tongue:

    One casino would be plenty if it was big enough right? Ah well..

    And I'd say hospital if i had rad poisoning :D

    Jeez it's hard not to come off as snide (sorry if my posts make me seem that way). No amount of smiley faces seems to fix it. :pinch: :dance: 8)

    There we go.

  9. Hey thanks for the replies guys.

    @FMod

    I don't think I'll be able to do it through an explosion, a script would be perfect, but I don't really have one (I know its a really basic script, but I'm just that bad) :whistling: If I did have a script though.. Would I attach it in the conditions section of the effect under "script variable"? Or would I have to run the script through a quest?

    @davidlallen

    Yeah 1 per 5 would be just about perfect really. But how do you mean? Detect time passing through a script function? or is there another way?

  10. Well according to the laws of fallout.. If I stand just at the right distance, I'll be nuked into a ghoul!

    Then apparently i'll live longer than all you human suckers!

    Then I can become an mad scientist and eventually put my brain in a machine!

    Muahhahahaahahahahahhahahahahhaha!

    That right there is the definition of survival, or existence.

    But yeah. In reality if I survived the first wave I'd be a lot more worried about the people who dropped the bombs attacking again, or invading.

    Have we all just assumed there would be one big, simultaneous, worldwide nuclear fireworks show, then poof.. No winners? And no untouched countries? What about Switzerland?

    I'm telling you now, my neighbors wouldn't be raping and killing each other over basic supplies either. Any apocalyptic event in the contemporary sense would in all likely hood NOT be a nuclear apocalypse, it would be more likely to see large scale biological attacks, or just advanced cluster bombing. So there would be an abundance food and water (maybe not readily and directly available but it would be there) and most likely a rapid loss of medical supplies, from the ridiculous amount of injuries and loss of many manufacturing capabilities (at least most of the mass manufacturers).

    I'd say the first step would be to gather survivors while scavenging ruins for usables (also to bury or burn the dead, as horrible diseases come extremely quickly from such situations). After that would come rebuilding, both in a social sense and an architectural one.

    All in all, it would be a horrible, horrible time that would be a lot more boring and subtly dangerous place than Fallout leads on.

    @ModelV

    You forgot to mention such redundant and lovely things as;

    Cut shin on one of 600000000000 exposed rusty nails in ruins; DEAD (from blood poisoning due to lack of medical equipment)

    also

    Decide to have a child; Probably DEAD (from complications at birth and lack of painkillers)

    and finally

    Live long enough to see part of a new civilisation grow around you; DEAD (from invading colonists, who WON the war and need space from overcrowding)

  11. I have an effect that damages health, but I want it to drain much slower than the 1 health per millisecond that it currently drains. (The magnitude doesn't seem to go lower than 1)

    I tried through conditions but after a while I realised it may not be possible that way, (getsecondspassed won't work in this circumstance, getrandompercent also will just make the entire effect have a chance of failing etc)

    It is an actor effect (flagged as ability) which is attached to the player via a scripted quest.

    Is slowing the damage rate in this fashion possible without a script? Also is the speed of damage like this linked to the timescale, or just coded to run at a certain speed?

  12. Yes I have it on a quest which is start game enabled.

    If it works fine for you then it must be something to do with the perk.

    The perk itself has health percentage conditions as well, would this mess with the process?

    EDIT; weird when I tried to save it had a "syntax error" until I separated the two words..

  13. Hey thanks again.

    The script works pretty much perfectly, except the perk seems to cut in and out every few seconds even when the conditions should be met.

    Though this may be due to the problem you just mentioned above, I will fix that line and see if it works better.

    EDIT; fixed the line in FNVEdit, but I still get the perk turning off and back on weirdly every few seconds after the script conditions are met

    Also the ElseIf line needs a space between the two words (Else If)

    Would EndIf need a space too then?

  14. I can't remember exactly but are there any hospitals or medical centers on the strip? I just remember the casinos, the radio station, the vault hotel and the NCR embassy. How many NCR soldiers must die from alcohol poisoning before he installs stomach pumps on his securitrons at least! :laugh:

    How do the followers fit in too? Does Mr House want them around? To me they seem like the type that one would want on the strip, money isn't their main concern, and they basically help people for free if they can't pay. They really are in a bad situation with the kings, to say the least, why doesn't Mr House help them set up a hospital in or near the strip? It's not like they are a threat (well maybe a threat to the way of thinking, but in no way a physical threat to Mr House at this stage).

    Quote;

    "Before I decided on Mr. House my other option was the Legion. I pondered for awhile on whether or not the Courier could persuade Caesar into leaving him the throne. In any event Mr. House can do more good with Vegas then the Courier can with the Legion."

    This is true, if Mr House gets the chip, if not then he's stuck pooling money out of casinos run by people who want to kill him. There was a chance that Mr Houses plan to recover the chip would fail, but he put all his eggs in one basket. And without the courier, all of those resources were a complete waste.

    Here's another argument,

    Would the legion really have the capacity to take Vegas, if House never found the chip, and they "won" the dam war? (by win I mean take horrible losses but still be the last few standing). With the few (dozen?) securitrons he has plus all the inhabitants of freeside (assuming they would fight) plus any NCR remnants.

    They seem like pretty good defenses, considering what the legion are outfitted with, (plus I think the legion would have to go through the boomers to get there, or at least around them, or through a field of deathclaws).

  15. All the movie references so far sound great, though squishing too much in might create an overcrowding problem :D

    A Total Recall style society as greenknightfury mentioned would be great for adding sidequests and shops as well as adding some extra character.

    The Thing is a fantastic film (Carpenter's version) and would make for really cool quests, but remember there is a heavy theme of expecting everyone to be the thing, and people mutating in seconds, which may be hard to do (unless you can use an animation to hide deleting and replacing a human with a centaur or something). Also if you add the thing.. There'll need to be LOTS of flamer fuel around. (perhaps "the thing" could even survive on the surface in one form?)

    Logan's Run style "crazy" robots would be easy to add as there are quite a few crazy robot meshes and textures already, plus they were hilariously evil too. (I second the idea for the cold logic machine (possibly damaged) running at least part of things, I was also thinking the mad "curator" robot with an obsession for freezing humans, though I forget its name)

    I have not seen the Body Snatchers or Soylent Green (yet).. But I've heard enough about them to see where you are going with this :D (Old World Blues I think did a bit of homage to Soylent Green and Logan's Run, but that just makes the themes sit better, as long as it's not a repetition of events)

    Also if there's a ghoul, who is paralysed, does he speak? or use telepathy? This could work in well if you have ancient martian remnants, perhaps the ghoul can communicate with the remnant technology in an alien tomb,

    E.G. The aliens have "ascended" to a new level of being that the ghoul can also achieve.. If the player lets him of course.

    This could add extra "drive" to the quest, as the ghoul is being "called" by the martians to return. Adds a bit of a curiosity angle, plus the Martians could be the "good guys" or the "spirit of the land" that is trying to stop the "evils" conjured up by the humans and their scientists.

    It would probably be a good idea to get some permissions from MOMOD or something similar, as there are some really unique mutant variations that are already made up and ready to go. It would save some time at least.
