  1. can someone please reupload the dropbox file? i am searching desperately for it atm...
  2. the shader effect text file from the first post worked like a charm for me. char was sometimes completely invisible, sometimes i could see the eyes and hair. bat sefsh ftw!
  3. that's what i wanted to say ^^ i don't get the point here...
  4. i'm gonna follow your advice and deinstall the breezehome ladder fix plus. never trusted this one  but brawls bug patch stays where it is, until i hear some other opinions on this one. it was set there by the boss magic. i TOTALLY trust ihud, skyui, racemenu and immersive armors. i never seemed to have major issues with one of the other mods as well on older savegames. but bft ships and carriages is very new and i don't have much gameplay experience with this. maybe it's this one. but i'm not sure. maybe this whole search is pointless and it's an issue of many mods working together. i just discovered, that boss is only showing the recognised mods in one list. this is the full mod list:
  5. yeah, you're right. didn't thought this one through. then a streching of the textures would occur (which we definitely have in the game!). but this can't be the problem. i just can reference to the theory of relativity at this point.
  6. that's a tough task for me. never done it before. just a sec... (some googling in progress) second try:
  7. memory card? that's a word i haven't heard in a long time. i remember these small bad ass motherf*ckers from my playstation (:
  8. well at first: your rig isn't high end. sorry to say that. and you said it already. your frame rate dropped, as you set up first seed enb. so clearly your system can't handle the massive graphical improvements (i never used this enb myself, so i can't say whether it's performance hungry or not). or you overestimate your pc, have thousands programs running in background while playing skyrim (maybe playing 3 games at once?!) and these slow down your system. try to experiment a bit with the settings in the enblocal.ini. maybe if you change some values, your game runs smoother. google it up, how you can tweak your enb settings.
  9. i think your attemp with the meshes was quite good. i'm no expert myself, but i know, that first a geometrical shape is made, to which the textures are added. the meshes. and it may be, that bethesda didn't pay that much attention to whether the textures match the meshes or not in some parts. or it's just part of the game mechanic, that your look in first person is a slightly different perspective in reality (VIRTUAL reality. i have friends and i know what real reality is!). you could try out some mods, that alter the meshes and textures of cliffs, rocks and mountains and maybe this will solve the problem. don't know. try around a bit. be snoopy ;D
  10. the second time i see this post and your comments and i begin feeling a bit sad for you ^^ i really can't say the same. i didn't discover these problems. for me skyrim's performance just got better with new driver and game updates. maybe it's just a problem with your system? not that the hardware is too old or anything, but the hard drive could be massively fragmented, your graphics card may be burried under a huge pile of dust, you may have a virus or some programs are running in background that are very cpu heavy?! it could be so much. check your system first, before you blame skyrim :P
  11. i made up my mind a bit and come up with these two options: option a: did you checked your load order? because i saw the bashed patch somewhere in the middle of your mods. usually boss puts it at the end of the plugins and before the unrecognised ones. option b: it's one special mod, that causes this problem. it must not be a mod, that alters the waiting or sleep menu. it can nearly be any mod. try to uninstall one after another, go ingame and sleep or wait. try indoor and outdoor locations to narrow the problem down. and last, my personal thoughts: i like to play a game, which is customized, but not too heavily modded, so it stays mostly clean. i decide whether or not i really need a mod or not. decide for yourself, but don't forget to actually play the game
  12. but i didn't deinstalled any mods with my current savegame :(
  13. it's part of the skyrim engine, sadly. you can make them look better with some enb's or you just reduce the shadow distance in the skyrimprefs ini. right at the top under [Display] should stay "fShadowDistance=8000.0000". experiment a bit. try to half the value to 4000 maybe and look at the shadows ingame. they should be a bit smoother now, but you will experince shadows popping in as you move. it can't be helped, unless you have a very beasty rig and can max out some enb settings. i'm running with the default shadow distance of 8000 and the Saraan Suun ENB performance preset http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/43765/? and i'm very content. i try to concentrate more on the gameplay than the graphics (: give it a try maybe
  14. explain a bit more. in which situation do you don't die? is it dependent of a place or a special enemy?
  15. i would go along with this one, but you may also use other mod manager, like wrye bash. that's my one for all ;D
  16. may be a stupid question, but did you tried restarting your pc? i just had this issue, that i started up skyrim and couldn't move my cursor in the main menu. i thought "let's keep it simple, maybe it works" and after rebooting, it worked for me ^^
  17. maybe it's just the shadow fade distance set in the skyrimprefs.ini? just sayin'. solutions can be easy sometimes ^^
  18. i have the same issue. don't know, what causes it :( help!
  19. many ctd's are just caused by the memory management of skyrim. take a look over here http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1340369-skyrim-memory-patch-fixing-ils-ugrids-ctd-freezes-for-real/
  20. maybe it's because you have installed too many mods, that add many new things and therefore pushing the dedicated memory block to it's limit. that's the best way i can describe it right now ^^ if you have no clue of what i'm talking about, check this very detailed video by Gopher http://youtu.be/37xAMUQc1oY. this gives you a little insight of the memory usage of skyrim and how you can expand it. a very nice "hack". give it a try ;)
  21. Hey guys, At this point I only want to ask, if someone knows how the status of the project is. Are the authors still working on it? Because last state I know is 2.2.6. And this is present, like for months... I'm a bit confused because on the main page (http://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.6) stands, that it is on a biweekly release schedule. I'm quite excited to see the new design of the S.T.E.P. with the packages and stuff. It would be great if someone heard something about it or heard of someone, who heard of it. Merry gaming!
  22. did you check it against the boss masterlist?
  23. ok. you ran the DSR patch. but how about the FNIS patch? try following these recommendations: http://wiki.step-project.com/New_Idles_for_Skyrim#Recommendations
  24. try to follow these steps: http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Troubleshooting#tab=Mods_and_Savegames
  25. maybe it's a value in your ini's that have been changed? or even in the enb settings?! hard to say without any further information.
