  1. I have Norton Internet Security and I Googled this, it shows OK on Safe Web on ALL issues, how ever it may just be so new it hasn't been updated\ reported... But no way am I going on there to prove Norton wrong!!! Besides there is a ton of established and very trusted sites for content...
  2. 1. I would guess probably not, because Oblivion, FO3, FONV, and Skyrim technically use a variation of the same engine, although FO3 and FONV may be able for some if not all the things you mention, I am just unfamiliar with their possibilities. 2. If manual install, default location of steam would be C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Data or C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Data If you plan to mod your game It would be very good to install Steam outside of your program files folder, because every time you change anything in that folder a popup appears asking permission to change something in that folder, this can be very frustrating at best (eg. C:\Steam) If you plan to run more than 20 to 30 mods or more I suggest looking into mod managing software like Nexus Mod Manager, Wrye Bash, or FOMM, and a load order program Like BOSS (witch stands for Better Oblivion Sorting Software, but works for about 5 or so different games, FO3, and FONV included). These are very complex and take time to learn to use but, you will thank me in the long run. :-) 3. As for searching for other than english language, under the file drop down look for tag search and it has a filter for many other languages. I hope this helps... and good luck in modding your games...
  3. My guess would be video card capability, I have a XFX HD 6870 1gb dual fan factory overclocked (stock gpu and vram clock) running very high with screen res 1920x1080i and my video card is maxed performance, I get occasional rendering problems. Also I run Win 7 x64 and I hear Win XP runs graphics way better. If you run SKSE you can use ELYS MemInfo here on Skyrim Nexus for some memory stats plus fps, mine runs about 55 frames at the top step of Dragonsreach, that's with Skyboost (Scriptdragon plugin), without I run about 47 frames.
  4. Even if you have no terrain textures, some mods that add houses, castles, trees\foliage etc. can also add LOD files, because those are the files that you're seeing when you see something distant. Also it may possibly be an ini. tweek vs. video card limits.
  5. On PC yes, use console command Player.additem <item id>, but you can't on Xbox 360, either go back save(s) or hope a future patch fixes it...
  6. I have to agree to a lot of this, and add that in Whiterun after the Battle of Whiterun some homes are inaccessible other than through the use of console commands, 1 such home is a quest target for a thieves guild quest, which leaves completing the full quest line broken unless console commands are used (coc), unless completed prior. And you also have all the rubble cluttering your game in and outside Whiterun, and some in Solitude.
  7. It was in the books category for me (PC), I never tried before finishing the main quest, but I got arrested and when my items were taken it was gone, otherwise I could not even drop it or place it in a container, even after completing the MQ. Since your playing Xbox 360 I assume you may have the latest patch (1.4.27) which I've been hearing a lot of bugs out of it so that could also be possible...
  8. The placeatme command. although you need the followers base id instead of their form id, I would suggest checking out UESP wiki's list of console commands for a way more detailed description and use, alternately you could just tell your follower to wait for you there and they will stay put until your return.
  9. It may possibly be a bug with map LOD, I noticed on the list of a bug for A Quality World Map With Roads mod with the cloth map type optional that it would show up as world map LOD files, and you may see the cloth map as in game terrain LOD. That's just my guess though, as I am not really familiar with how map and game LOD files are treated by the exe..
  10. What I can't, for the life of me understand is the severe decline of the arcane arts in only about 200 years time since Oblivion. Yes I know the whole back story about the destruction of the Arcane Academy thing, but the elves were the most gifted in arcane arts and the in game (Skyrim) reference of Calcelmo himself of devoting 2 lifetimes of men in his own persuit of knowledge of the Dwemer. That at worst would seem to me only 1.5 to maybe 2 generations of elves, worst case. And then I can also remember the High Elf woman in the Cheydinhal Mages Guild hall that was Ondmund's sweetie saying all the time about choosing the right partner for Elves was so important because of their severely long lifespan. Come on Beth. you did kinda drop the ball on that one... Edit: Sorry I got carried away, yes I miss the welkend and varla stones too.
  11. It's actually 256, Skyrim esm. is 1 and update esm. is 2, but you can increase this with Wrye Bash's bashed patch with multiple esp.'s merged into it.
  12. There's another file on skyrim nexus called unplayable spells that lists 2 teleport spells 1 in and 1 out, you might need the esp. from unplayable effects made playable, I haven't tried it, but thought it was worth mentioning...
  13. fms1

    DOH!

Load a save from before you used the console command, may want to exit to desktop first.
  14. I really am not sure, but maybe some of Wrye Bash's more advanced features may allow you to export/import facial features etc. And then you could possibly tweak stats with CK, but that's kinda out on a limb... (just a thought )
