  1. FIXED! In a rather silly train of thought, my mind went "this is likely what the void looking back feels like" and remembered a certain sentence from the mod Scrap Everything : Reinstalled that mod without "Disappearing Objects - Terrain Fix" option and voila! No more void staring back at you! Haven't quite figured out how to edit the title to add the "resolved" prefix but will edit the initial post with the solution. Hope this will help!
  2. Thank you for the reply, AGreatWeight. This is very strange as I do have a system which fits the game's requirements. Dxdiag info under the spoiler. I already am using ENBoost. Additional processes which are running in the background are steam, discord and a pointless aesthetic thing called MysticLight. Nvidia shadowplay during the video. No fps loss whatsoever, aside when using default-generated ini files. Quality always "ultra". Just to clarify, this has really never happened before, already went through 10 playthroughs and now just playing for the sake of simulating The Sims feeling in the wasteland.
  3. SOLUTION: Install Scrap Everything without the option "Disappearing Objects - Terrain Fix"! First encounter with this issue came after trying to play the game after an extended period of time. Thought it was related to outdated mods, which, after some research, proved to be almost every single one on the list. Reinstalled entire game, redownloaded mods, fixed things up proper and played for around 100 hours with zero issues. However, launching the game today, no changes made whatsoever since last night's session, got this issue to return. Perhaps I'm searching for the improper keywords (please assist if you can, so that this thread can be improved) but have not encountered a single complaint of this happening next to an imgur album portraying it, seemingly related to a settlement mod, as it has been only reproduced when the camera hit one of the settlement objects. Album, made by imgur user Astantos can be found here: https://imgur.com/gallery/GcNrH However, my issue at present seems to be happening in an area untouched by mods. Things I assume could be causing this if we disregard the mods which seem to have been working flawlessly for the past week or so and no changes in that field have been made: - Driver update. - Nvidia control panel settings (although reverting to default did not seem to resolve it) - External ini edits (similar to the above, regenerating the files achieved no changes) - Game progression, but reloading to an earlier save now will cause the same issue in the same exterior location. Another symptom I have noted prior to reinstalling the game was transparency of certain objects, as will be portrayed in the upcoming screenshots. Potentially a light/shadow issue setting? Things that have been done to resolve the issue but resulted in failure: - Reinstalling the game - Reinstalling the mods (redundant ones removed) - Verifying the integrity of the game cache - Regenerating default .ini files - Resetting all settings - Tested multiple recommended settings found in "guides" - Optimizing with Nvidia GeForce experience (don't do this if you have an ultrawide monitor, some ui stretching cannot be remedied by either DefUI or ultrawide mods) Screenshots under the spoiler (Vault 88 ones are prior to the reinstallation, note the transparency of the ceiling light fixture) Video in which the most recent encounter of the issue has been recorded (please excuse the quality, I am not proficient with Shadowplay): Currently out of ideas. Thank you for any and all suggestions in advance! Will update thread with new findings if any appear in the meantime. For now, I will try to proceed playing without turning around. Load order attached Could not attach the .txt file normally, so here's a link. Note that everything works proper, even all workshop items appear as intended.
  4. There's a valid reason for necromancy - why create new threads when so many with the same topic remain unanswered. Clogging the internet pipes is never a good idea. Here's a bump. No enb, no further environment settings, just plain old Launcher setting of hdr on and hdr off in Fallout New Vegas. What the game lacks is some tuning beyond brightness which the reduction of causes quite a few areas to look like you have sunglasses stuck to your face without wanting them there. Haven't yet found a proper solution for the issue, but then again, it's an "old" game so there's no reason to expect grand community effort. There are some nice exterior screenshots on this page (underlined link leading to tweakguides.com, Fallout 3 article, but considering it's the same engine, the elaboration applies).
  5. Just a tiny necromantic note since this is one of the very first things that pops up in search engines when looking the issue up. NPCs can go missing even without mods. The easy way around it is to type player.placeatme baseID into the console and move the missing NPC to you, provided that they haven't been killed. To look up which baseID the NPC you are interested in is tagged with, easiest way of finding it out is looking it up in one of the wikia articles titled with their names. Should you not be spawning a person of a certain faction within the boundaries of another, all will be fine.
  6. To avoid conjuring this thread back into our plane of existence, here's a new one. With a fully updated game and meticulously checked mods for conflict and versions, I am experiencing it, so a fresher thread might benefit those that might be searching for solutions. The nature of the problem primarily looks like invisible furniture. Pretty much exactly the same as the original thread poster indicated. http://i.imgur.com/xTeKPge.jpg http://i.imgur.com/eRMLarJ.jpg Now, before any further text, I feel the need to express that I've played this game for about 6k hours and haven't had a single issue of this nature before.Initially thought that a mod might have caused this, despite being careful solely to install the vanilla home variants. The mod didn't feel right in the end and I've uninstalled. In fact, I've started playing back from the save in which the mod didn't exist. No changes to the areas it was supposed to affect. However, after a few days of gameplay, I've finally decided to build a house and proceeded with what I've always done - only to face this strange furniture issue. - allowing the housecarl to furnish it makes no difference- waiting for the furniture to appear does nothing- installing the same mod mentioned above with Hearthfire additions actually offers a whole lot of invisible walls (installed prior to building the house) Upon closer inspection, I've noticed that parts of the "invisible" furniture is actually poking through walls http://i.imgur.com/Mi0K7rO.jpg And low and behold, a quick tcl inspection shows that the furniture was not invisible at all.Just displaced.Moved.Outside of the house. http://i.imgur.com/31VJEqt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/wOeN4ng.jpg http://i.imgur.com/mmRbUKh.jpg What could possibly have done this? The only other mod I have that is affecting hearthfire homes at all is USLEEP.Tried reinstalling that too. No changes. If anyone is familiar with this issue or perhaps any manners of resetting furniture positions manually, do tell! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Due to lacking a solution, I've resorted to an alternative - Jaxonz Positioner. With it, I've not only remedied the issue but made the interior a whole lot cozier and habitable, to say the least.
  7. Sorry for raising the thread from the dead, but I just couldn't have left without thanking blove. Removing that damn automat fixed every single issue i've had with the game since... well, two years ago. Blove, I only regret the lack of ability to personally hug you. THANK YOU.
  8. First, I am sorry for posting a second topic in such a short notice, even though it's completely unrelated. I don't practise addressing the internet for help personally unless it's something i've already spent a good amount of time trying to fix. Problem: No interaction option whatsoever. No name, no crosshair when looking at the npc. Crouching, however, enables the pickpocket action. All other npcs are fine and act as they're expected. I have no previous save to go back to. Situation: After marrying mentioned npc, after the ceremony was over and the rings were exchanged, the npc started walking towards the temple's exit. While walking, the spouse spoke of moving in together, but never actually initiated a conversation about it, as normally would happen. For some reason I've decided to finish two more quests in Riften before going after the spouse, as I knew he was headed to his home. After finally getting there, above mentioned problem occurred. So far I have tried: - Disable / enable npc, - kill / resurreect npc, - kill.player, - resetai, - recycleactor, - resetting marriage quest, - bat divorce, - applying several spells that change npc disposition, such as "Seduce", "Calm" (i have noticed that "Mentor" spell, a mod that teaches npcs a spell you have in your other hand, doesn't work on spouse anymore), - hurting npc till they become hostile then sheathing weapons, - changing npc stats in creation kit, - disabling mods, - verifying cache, - restarting pc. The npc responds with the same move-in-together sentence after getting near him, but nothing else. He also continues his daily routine, from home to inn and back, if that's any worth mentioning. [EDIT] Adopting a child and assigning them to a house moved spouse too. Still no interaction available other than pickpocketing. All suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  9. [ Apologies for the walls of text and excuse me for double-posting] I have updated BOSS and re-sorted. Holy hell, that's a lot of errors! Deleting duplicate files definitively made a positive impact on loading time, however, it did little for the subject of this topic. After this experiment, I have removed all mods and waited 30 days in Seeptimus Signus' outpost. Then per exit, the game crashed. Tried that two more times, with the same result. Then i killed the player character and reloaded - same result. I have restarted the pc and repeated the routine. Same crash occurred. Moving the mods back in got the game back on it's feet, everything peachy and fine, but, fast-trevelling, walking or tcl-ing anywhere near the four mentioned locations caused a crash. Ah yes, I've also visited all other dragon burial mounds on the map with no issues. Seems so. I've ran through a new game, mostly advancing through console, and managed to escort Delphine and Esbern to Karthspire with no issues. This savegame was made with no mods. When I put the mods back in place, the problematic dragon burial mound had an "undiscovered location" sign (misc map markers mod), and I've managed to "discover" it with no issues. What does come to mind is the fact that Karthspire actually has several punishments for premature exploration. Yes, that thing i couldn't resist doing in the main save. At least there are no more important quests around mentioned dragon mounds. If ultimately there is no solution, i can just proceed avoiding them. Thank you, ripple for taking the time to help! P.s. my fallout games wouldn't be same without you, so thanks for that too :')
  10. Thank you so much for the suggestions! It's true, I've installed and moved around several mods after autosorting, which was actually... quite a while ago. I seem to have overlooked the fact that 3rd Era Weapons is included in the Immersive weapons! I've downloaded it quite recently. Also, I have just updated JSwords! The first noticeable change were the loading screens, which now have matching text and images :D Oh gosh... that will be a drag, as I've been manually installing some updates, sometimes even just parts of them, to reduce the time spent on meddling with it. But I shall! I must! I will! Indeed. Wrye Bash is, and I'm not putting this lightly, the most useful tool I've ever used. As an obvious mod hoarder, it's impossible to even imagine running fallout games without it. For some reason, I still haven't put it to use when it comes to Skyrim. This obviously has to change. Anyway, thank you for the very useful reply, and I'm officially off to test the game without mods.
  11. Thank you, and I'm sorry, I didn't know the forum will resize the photo this much. Plugins.txt The load order is most likely causing the problem, as that is the only thing i haven't double-checked after boss-autosorting ("if it doesn't ctd on startup it's okay" rule). Thanks for your good will.
  12. http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh115/necromunchy/loarorder_zpsa33d0c20.png Aside of that, there's the data folder, which consists mainly of texture and mesh edits, half of which have been taken out of various nexus mods (I do my shopping here and here alone), and half made by myself. I can get into specifics, if it's really necessary, but it would consume a lot of time. Another two locations that i have failed to remember are the dragon mounds between Druadach Redoubt and Deepwood Redoubt, and the one south of Karthspire and west of the shrine of Mara (next to the bridge). Second one had been making a lot of problems once the quest Alduin's wall started, and i've managed to do it only by coc-ing to the Skyhaven temple and then going out to the blood seal, by tcl-ing through the head door (where Delphine and Esbern conveniently waited). One more thing, the crashes I'm experiencing occur only on my main save. All new games, alongside that data folder, allow going to mentioned locations just fine. However, I haven't quite had the time to test if its maybe quest-related. It started as soon as I've met Delphine, if i remember correctly.
  13. ...with or without mods. Only thing I haven't yet tried is a clean reinstall. Most problematic locations are the burial mound SW of the Reach Imperial camp and the one SE of the Pale Imperial camp, as there is no way to get nowhere near them. What I've found so far is that, at certain occasions, a dragon is supposed to spawn around them, which doesn't happen, no matter how much time passes (tested with 30 days). All suggestions appreciated.
  14. Okay, i think i've got the hang of it. Everything seems to be in order after following these eight steps (and occasionally consulting the manual), so it's probably safe to celebrate now. THANK YOU! Is there anything else? P.s. I'm not exactly sure what becomes of this topic...
  15. First of all, accept my humble expression of virtual love. I haven't been able to reply immediately because of actually playing the game. Now that everything works i'm ready to go further and learn more! Please teach me everything you can :D
  16. I'm eager to try Wrye Flash, as it held my attention for a long time now. It would be much appreciated if you could just help me get started with it, since i've yet not had any experience with it. Should i... send you a private message?
  17. Thank you for replying, once again. Reinstalling sp2 definitively didn't help, as well as uninstalling the last few system updates. However, there's a line on the NV fomm page, where the author states how they're "actively working on a replacement". Hopefully it'll manage to function despite the mentioned issue, so i'll try to wait for it.
  18. Thank you for replying. I am already aware of this, and even though my automatic updates are off, it keeps happening. Unfortunately, the suggestion concerning framework didn't help, and after i checked on the updates, it seems that the last one was installed in February last year. Could there be an update that doesn't show on the 'installed updates' list? [Edit] I've came to the conclusion that it's an issue of .net framework 2.0. The only possible solution is reinstalling it, but, since i have vista sp2, it's embedded and said to be impossible to reinstall. Currently searching for an alternative method.
  19. http://i54.tinypic.com/b6ee52.png This has been happening pretty often. All of a sudden too, as it seems. It doesn't matter if i played the game 10 times that day, or turned it on for the first time, or even just decided to restart it without any changes. The solution until now has been a system restore, but today, i've found out that there were no restore points available. Game works fine, launcher works fine. I've seen this issue being mentioned quite a few times, but not a single solution was given. Is there anything that can be done?
