i know how to export armor with the body.. but.. when i export gloves and boots do they need feet and hands? do i put the hands in the gloves and export them together?

wait so i can just do one glove and mirror it to the other hand? i gotta find that tool lol.. hah thanks that actually saved me a ton of time :) i click the right glove, click tools then mirror, then x and copy and bam now i have 2 gloves the same on each hand.. you rock :) now if i make changes to the original glove does it copy the changes or should i mirror it when im all done?

im having aonther problem.. im done with the left glove and when i moved on to the right glove the xyz slider thing is stuck to the left glove.. so i cant see what im moving.. i think i might have selected something and i dont have any idea what it could have been... to make things more clear, the right glove is selected and i push move, instead of the xyz thing in the screen, its on the other side of the model. nevermind, it was use pivot point center.. i clicked it and it went back the glove.. so complicated lol..

what button turns them off? i looked around in the menus and didnt see anything specific to shadows. so many questions sorry, what is deference between select and move and select and manipulate.. they both seem to do the same thing.

sweet thanks, and the shadows? they get in the way sometimes.. specially when i am zoomed in the whole screen turns black.

lol, one more quick question.. ive only used this program for 2 days and i have the torso perfect.. so im doing ok.. when i move the camera around by hold the alt key.. how come sometimes it twists nicely, and sometimes it throws the veiw around so far i get lost where the model is and have to start over from home?

i guess i dont understand what skinwrap does cause when i moved the bones around it didnt move the glove like i thought it would. its probably cause my glove doesnt fit on the skyrim hand yet so it was just moving around empty space.

so your saying i can import the skeleton, then skin wrap the gloves to it and move the fingers around to fit the hand? i might try this. that didnt seem to work.. :(

im not sure how to post screen shots.. ill try to explain more detail right now im trying to move gloves onto a hand model. im just playing around with this to learn so when i get serious i can do what i want easier. the problem is my gloves are stright, and the skyrim hand model is bent at the fingers. so this means when i put the gloves onto the hand his fingers stick out the top.. i been just using the soft selection tool and moving one dot at a time, x y z.. this takes a very long time.. but i know there has to be an easier way.. this program has so many features im guessing one of them does what i need lol..

is there any way to snap a mesh onto a body automatically? like snap to selection or something.. say i have a mesh and its a few inches off, but i want to not only move it x but rotate and align it.. do i have to do it all by hand? or is there a magic tool that lets me just move to place. maybe i should say what im trying to do.. im trying to make sleeves.. so i make a O and then i drag it down and i now have a tube, but how to i move that tube onto the arm without destroying the shape.

you need a plugin for 3ds max to import nif files.. its called niftools.. i have v 3.7.1 google search should find it.

this is common, it has to do with the way the game morphs the 0 and 1 files.. the 0 is the thin version and 1 is the larger version a quick fix is to copy one over the other so the models are the same size no matter how the weight is.. i am having this same issue with my own armor mod, i cant get it to morph right. :(

i am having this same issue.. all the vertexes are the same. i put a smooth modifier on every part under skin.. but it still blows up..

i just kinda went through this tonight.. your steps are not correct.. but then i still cant get the weight slider to work on my armor.. so im not a pro.. lol here is my steps. it at least gets the item in the game. import skeleton.nif and a body.. vanilla, cbbe, unp, ect.. load/create/edit mesh copy skins from body to mesh using the skin wrap modifier.. also make a dismemberskin modifier and select the whole area red. make sure to make a smooth modifier set to 2. just under skin. export as nif run nifscope and copy the lightingshaderproperty from some armor that is original. while in nifscope go into shapedata and make sure has vertex color is yes this is important or the armor will be black.. also in nifscope go to dismemberskininstance and chose the correct partition number for the armor.. like torso is 32. this is also important cause it will be invisible if you dont. the nif should work.

i think to make them bounce you need to edit their armor to have the physics applied.. unless you removed all their clothes and they still dont bounce? -

Ghosu, one more question.. i adjust some armor to fit the slimmer body and when i export it i follow the guides to the letter. basically a quick rundown on what i did. import female skeleton import unp skinny size 0 body import armor, in this case its skimpy dragonscale with no shoulders by killer.. its made for cbbe. i remove the cbbe body. i remove the skin from the armor i edit the armor, adjusting so parts dont stick out and such.. i chose skin wrap then i choose the unp body to make a skin. i did it for each body weight. 0 and 1 i ran nifscope to copy over the lightingshaderproperty from the original. cause 3dsmax messes that up on export.. i put the files in the game, with the guide you gave , thanks btw :) everything looks great, only for weight 0 and weight 100 weight 1 to 99 is all messed up.. any ideas on what i need to adjust to get the weight slider working? a quick fix was to save 1 and copy it to 0, but then the model is large no matter what weight.. if i could id like to fix it. one other problem i seem to be having is the texture is black.. i didnt make it black on purpose.. yet it looks pretty good.. im guessing its some modifier somewhere i have to change in nifscope to get the color right? -

so i made some armor tweaks and i know how to replace the mesh and texture with existing items.. but can someone show me a tutorial or please make one to make an item unique? i dont really have to go into the whole crafting with special items thing, just something i can player.additem ###### 1 to get the item and not have it replace existing items. also maybe have the tutorial explain values too, like how to make my armor/weapons different from the armor i copied and re-textured. thanks :) -

im not doing something right.. i import everything in, its all stacked up, i remove the "old" body and keep the new body.. everything is nice except certain body parts usually bleed through.. so i move the torso back a few and scale it a bit so it all lines up and looks good, i then remove the skin to copy over the skin from the model and it all pops back the way it was.. any idea why it wont stay? then i try to export and 3dsmax crashes.. when it says exporting torso_0.kr im doing it step by step, im trying to mod the killer skimpy barkeeper outfit to keep the breasts from peeking through. -
So i edited the file to increase the tactics slots (put 40 on all the lines) and upgraded my guy to level 25 and with maxed out tactics.. yet he only has 21 slots.. this is the same for all party members.. is there a secret for more then 21 slots? ive also tried the 25 and 30 slot files found on this site.. same only 21.. im runing 1.01 version. should i upgrade? 1.02?
