  1. Confirming this solution worked! Thank you NocturnalDeity! Realizing it's an old post, but still relevant.
  2. SE allowed me to reach Skyrim nirvana and I don't think I'll ever go back! My goal has always been to have a stable, high fps, graphically beautiful Skyrim with all the Mods I want for a given playthrough. I've worked with LE for years and was never able to "get it all". Although SE required a graphics card upgrade for my rig, the results are worth every penny. With SE, I just set up my mods and play. Simple, easy and no worries. Goal accomplished!
  3. Resolved by upgrading to a GTX 1060 6gb. No surprise that an upgrade would resolve it, but results prove that (at least with my RIg) when playing SSE the RAM usage is directly connected (limited) to the VRam (or the Graphics card). First test with the new card showed average RAM jumped to 2.5 Gb compared with 1.5 - 1.6 in previous tests. VRam average increased by almost the same % confirming the correlation. Thanks again for those who responded with suggestions! For others that run into this scenario, I'm still hopeful that some tech savvy individual will figure out a way of uncapping RAM / VRam on SSE (like we have for Oldrim). BTW - The upgrade is nirvana! SSE plays buttery smooth in vanilla, heavy graphics and fully modded (over 200 mods).
  4. Update of sorts (and maybe some ranting as well ). No matter which SSE setup I run (Vanilla, graphics only, 200+ mods, etc.) my RAM usage is stuck between 1.7 - 2Gb. I know it's an SSE specific issue because Witcher 3 uses as much RAM as it needs (between 2.5 - 4 Gb). At this point (rant alert)... I'm giving up searching Google and various forums for a solution to my Low RAM usage. Most search results are related to the opposite problem of high RAM usage or VRam. There's already a lot of info and guides to address VRam strain with lower textures, ini settings, etc. (or buy a new Graphics card). Unfortunately, the few search results I've found of other SSE Users with the same Low RAM problem - no suggested fixes are mentioned. IF anyone comes across this topic with some RAM uncapping suggestions - Please post here or PM me. Thanks!
  5. Please share how you fixed your RAM limit problem. I have the same issue and even with 200+ mods I never get over 1.8 GB of RAM usage. Thanks
  6. Update: No improvements from BOSS guide (even lost some performance with a few INI tweaks and Razer Cortex had no affect). Only options that seem to be left are to reduce graphics mods, tweak INI settings on grass, shadow, god rays, etc. and limit my mods. Thanks again to those who responded with ideas! If anyone has any other ideas about how to get my Rig to uncap the CPU% and RAM usage - please let me know.
  7. OK, checked vsync and everything is good there. I also did Testing between adding mods. I started a new game and repeated the previous gameplay for testing comparison. Started with Vanilla and then added texture mods in groups of 5 - 10 and recorded performance monitor results. No surprise that as 4K and 2K textures are added - VRAM usage increases and FPS drops while GPU remains high at 88 - 91%. What does not change is CPU and RAM usage. In all tests the CPU % was steady at 30-33 and RAM averages were 1.4 - 1.6 MB. Something is preventing CPU and RAM usage from expanding, so the graphics card is getting overloaded. I know from research that others experience much higher CPU and RAM usage with SSE and my Rig does as well when running Oldrim. Why it won't do so for SSE is beyond me. <heavy sigh> Next step is to go through the BOSS guide and see if something there solves this. I'll post an update afterward (in a few days).
  8. Thanks for the latest suggestions. Give me a few days to try these and I'll provide an update. I did compare vanilla SSE on Ultra before the original post and get 50 - 60 FPS, but the RAM/VRam ratio and GPU % are the same as modded.
  9. Thanks for the reply. SSE Fixes was just updated on 4/4 for SSE 1.5.39, which is what I loaded via MO. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/10547/ If I don't get any suggestions to increase RAM / CPU usage, I will definitely have to start cutting some of the settings you mentioned.
  10. Thanks for the SSE Fixes suggestion, but I got the same choppy gameplay performance and same stats as before. I keep thinking there must be a way to get SSE to utilize more of my RAM / CPU like Oldrim does.
  11. Hi Everyone - I'm new to the Forum and would really appreciate any suggestions on this situation. Thanks! I'm experienced in modding Skyrim, but I'm stumped here with SSE. Please let me know if any further information can help. In comparison with heavily modded Oldrim (running very smooth), my modded SSE runs at 1/2 the FPS (with stutter). I'm assuming there are adjustments I can make to my PC because SSE utilizes 1/2 the RAM of Oldrim while doubling the % of GPU. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Averages in comparable game play: Oldrim SSE SSE Compared RAM 3612 1861 52% VRam 2405 2477 103% CPU 46 41 89% GPU 47 92 196% FPS 53 27 51% RIG Intel i5-4690K CPU @ 3.5Ghz (Quad core) 16GB RAM DDR3 AMD Radeon R9 280X - 3GB - GDDR5 Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB Windows 8.1 (gaming optimized) SSE Modded Over 250 Mods, Graphics mods are a mix of 2K and 4K, ReShade, No SKSE Oldrim Over 400 Mods, Graphics mods are mostly 2K with a few 4K Optimized for performance, ENBoost no ENB, SKSE, etc.
  12. Hi Axel. My Skyrim download history is also affected and only reflects a few mods. Could you please check if it is due to the same problem and, if so, apply the fix? Thank you!
