  1. Are you moving in the same fashion as when you do when you're overcumbered? Could be that something caused your weightlimit to go over. Wouldn't explain the 3rd person immobility though :/
  2. Thanks for the replies, i think you might be right. I loaded and installed loremonger version of DD instead(removes special dragons and uses vanilla) and now it seems to work fine. Seems mind you  Luckily i had a save in a house before the dragon encounter comes, so i didn't lose any progress. Added kudos for a nice fast reply that helped solve the problem.
  3. After the patch, but the questline dragon before it worked fine(i don't think DD affects questline dragons). Come to think of it, this is the first real "random" dragon i've encountered. Just weird 'cause it doesn't freeze right after the dragon appears, but at random intervals and often when the dragon lands or breathes.
  4. Well the topic kind of hits the mark already. Outside my home(build your own home), dragon appears from the woodworks(do have deadly dragons), everything has been working fine but when the giant lizard looks at me and throws a firebreath my way, instant freeze. I've tried enabling 3gb, taking off high res textures, the memory doesn't spike over 2gb anyway. Tried disabling deadly dragons(which only then makes the game crash due to an error). Everything points towards some form of problem with dragons, but i have no idea what as DD is the only mod touching dragons(as far as i know). So in nutshell; Dragon appears -> game freezes or even crashes with error. EDIT: Ofcourse could be because of the 1.7 patch, which would be a pain to find out...
  5. Try this; Spawn a Powder Ganger with console commands (player.placeleveledactoratme 00104c6a 1) and kill him. Might finish it (found from wiki).
  6. You could try this http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/34778 Or from dimonized body mod; "Once installed, go to Documents\My Games\ FalloutNV and right click the Fallout doc. Look at Properties, if it is Read Only uncheck it. Open the doc and Ctrl+f. Find SInvalidationFile. Change the [Archive] block to look like this: [Archive] SInvalidationFile= iRetainFilenameOffsetTable=1 iRetainFilenameStringTable=1 iRetainDirectoryStringTable=1 bCheckRuntimeCollisions=0 bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 bUseArchives=1 SArchiveList=Fallout - AI!.bsa, Fallout - Misc.bsa, Fallout - Voices1.bsa, Fallout - Sound.bsa, Fallout - Textures.bsa, Fallout - Textures2.bsa, Fallout - Meshes.bsa In the same folder find the FalloutPrefs doc. Again, look at Properties, if it is Read Only uncheck it. Open the doc and Ctrl+f. Find SInvalidationFile. Change the [Archive] block to like you did for the Fallout doc. Now go to Program Files\Steam\steammaps\common\fallout new vegas and open the Fallout_default config doc. Change the [Archive] block like you did for the Fallout doc. Once all of that is done, open the FOMM. Go to Tools and select Archive Invalidation from the drop down menu. Toggle archive invalidation on and off and then leave it ON. Now load the game and play. " No idea if either will help, or make things worse(please don't hangman me), but worth a shot eh? :D
  7. If completing it doesn't work, you could try resetting it. resetquest <QuestID> Base id for that quest is 00104eae Might work, question mark? :D Once i remember that there was a powder ganger hiding behind some house, so might be worth to look around as well.
  8. ¨I had the same problem with a re-install i made. I fixed it like so; http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/34778 nvidia fix, simple drop to base folder. Changed my secondary monitor to my primary monitor(from resolutions menu). Might not be an issue with you. That's it really :P Hope it helps!
  9. Posting this on other thread, but might work for you too; http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/34778 Helped me ;)
  10. Hmm. Yeah, doesn't seem to work with those pesky powder gangers. I can't think of another solution outside resetting the quest. resetquest 00104eae or simply complete the quest with completequest No idea on the consequences, but someone else might have an idea on how to spawn those pesky powders.
  11. placeatme X should work, just need the ID to replace X with, which you can get from ingame by grabbing a savegame and console clicking a pwder ganger. Make sure you've killed http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Joe_Cobb as he is a chicken and will run :D So, to get the powder ganger; - Load sasve wit fight on. - Press console key (§ for me, might be different). - Click on a powder ganger. - Get ID on top of screen. - Load the save with the bug(after fight). - type placeatme id here - Kill powder ganger, win game, supreme commander of univerrse.
  12. True. I keep an eye on my enegy weapon skill these days, since i don't use it and if it gets wonky i know something is up. Luckily the console command player.forceav works wonders
  13. Figured it out. The sleepy time mod(http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39188) and skilled perk have a bit of a glitch, where every time you use the sleepy time, it adds +5 to all skills(basically redoes the perk). Bit of a work to remove 20 points from all skills, but all should be fine now
  14. Quick summary; Somewhere between level 11-12, i suddenly have recieved +15 to all skills. This might be a glith in some mod, or a gift from the Great Gerbil God(who lives behind the green couch of the atomic wrangler of all places). Now, as i've already ventured a level after this happened, i'm not too inclined to run around hunting fiends again. Any simple solution, or should i just console command -15 to all skills? Much love and appreciation.
  15. Thanks for all the answers. I did have things patched, but after auto sorting things seem to work wonders. No idea if this or that helped, but you guys helped anyway in some magical way :D
  16. Hello thar, been a while since i've poked my head in the nexus. Wel, new vegas, expansions, a lot of mods to install and ofcourse i ran into trouble. I've been looking at my modlist for a while, but can't figure out if there's a problem with the load order, or if " a buggy game is buggy". So, would appreciate any help/suggestions on the load order and, well, other comments and suggestions are welcome  Big hugs and all that!
  17. Yeah i got paint.net, seemed like a nice addition to "my free stuff to play with" :D Managed to complete my first retexture thing(tat work), retextured the demonized body(i think that's the one) with some pics from net(modified to fit what i want ofc, couldn't be bothered to draw them). With some other mods(alternate clothing which i can't remember where it's from), some kikai stuff and hairmod(which i think everyone has). I like the result, own taste so ofcourse i do :P http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/2341/tatst.jpg Can't really see the legtat that well, should post a seminude pic for that. Basically a dragontribal that goes from upper leg->ankle.
  18. I was actually thinkigna bout same, but then my inner realist came poking at my cerebreal breakfast and said "Style over survival!", so now i just run around without a helmet :P Maybe if someone made "Pip-Gel 3000 - Your hair has never been so firm (Now with added metal particles)", as a non-slot item to add damage res. Hmm.
  19. The answer is, create a custom race for your PC and add custom textures to this race. You can even use different body mods for it. Fairly simple  Oh, well that's refreshing :D Usually i expect some kind of three page explanation on how the multithreaded hyperbolator needs to be recalibrated to the passive neutroninhibitor :P Thanks! EDIT: Oh one little question, while on the subject; Is texture changing really as simple as "open dds, edit, save dds, enjoy bunnyimage on your armor"? Or does it need more to, for example, work for others?
  20. Thanks for the welcomes, will try getting my baby steps in gear and maybe get some gear ingame ;) Starting with some non-brain power needing graphic changes, just to see how things work. Speaking of which; anyone have an idea how to, for example, change only the player texture? Changing the female texture for example seems to apply to all. I'm guessing the answer is "no way to change just the pc" :P
  21. Thanks all for the fuzzy welcome. Think i'll start with some little graphics modification, seems like the easiest step when you can just edit the templates. Maybe start with a tattoo job or some such. Baby steps :P
  22. Just posted my "Hi i'm new" at the newbie forum, so decided to say hi here too. Err...hi! *wave* Love the work you guys have done, spent most of my weekend adding stuff to FO3 and love the outcome. Makes my game of the decade even more decady :P All mods(i've used) seem to add without feeling like mods, fit the world and overall keep the immersion at bay and even better (ammo weight, xp limiter, weather, karma revamp etc, brilliant stuff). So, i did have a point to this thread too, beyond the "Hi thar" thing; Is there a way(beyond posting screenshot of FOMM list) to see if i'm running my mods in right order? Otherwise, i'm planning on starting my modding "career" with FO3, seems it's a good platform to do so. I've got a background in game design/dev so, it's kinda in my blood. Any help ofcourse is appreciated to avoid things that others have faced ;)
  23. First i'd like to say, after a long-late weekend of searching, downloading, adding and such, that i admire everyones work here. I finally have a Fallout 3 that has challenge, feels like a wasteland and all in all, is fun beyond fun. So a lil bow to all, will try to approve the 10s of mods i added whenever i get the chance. That out of the way; Hi, my name is Crosshare and i'm a Fallout addict. Yes i know it's spelled crosshair, but i'm hoppy in that way ;) Something about myself; I'm a 30+ old lifetime gamer, rock'n'roll damnated, single (raur) and i've been working in the Finnish game industry for a little over 10 years, nothing major to note for (Transworld snowboarding is probably the biggest title). Now-a-days i'm in the designer business, freetime and worktime. As such, modding has always been a "have to get into that" area and with Fallout 3, i finally found enough interest to do so. Back in Fallout 2, i already considered the path and even built a gas station scenery(which i never finished). Future plans involve getting into the modding scene a bit more, with a mind overflowing with ideas and especially with a new scenery coming(New Vegas). As such, all tips and old timer tricks are appreciated to help avoid the pits and bumps. Also would help to know if there's a certain decore to the forums, wouldn't want to poke the hornets nest with my newcomer status. Any questions and comments are welcome and, well, i guess there's enough there to confidently say; Hello (nexus) world. (As an added question; would it be cool to post a screenie of my FOMM launcher to see if there's any noticable order problems with it? Game works, but better is better ofcourse ;)) (EDIT: Well darn, the topic is already in a paraphrasing use. Ah well, bygones.)
