  1. Does this exist? If not, I really REALLY hope someone could make it. Just one of those silly things that why restrict it? If someone (read: me) wanted to make a dual shields character, he/she could do it. It shouldn't be too too hard to do, and there are even shield bonuses from a skill tree. Anyone?
  2. I didn't know it at the time, but look at this video: They actually have a working demo of that system that they created but didn't get in-game. Most of the things in that video I would want to have :(
  3. My bad, it was at "performance" and I changed it to "high quality". My inner dyslexic showing through :P
  4. But let's say you already have UAC completely disabled. Then what? For example, I have a textures mod (Skyrim 2k HD to be precise) that isn't showing up at all even though I have them in the data folder AND I have them in a textures folder within just to cover my bases. In the "data files" menu in the launcher they're all enabled, as well as in the NMM. If I turn it off, it says my save is missing files. And yet, there is still nothing showing up even though it all seems to be okay. I'm like two seconds away from just redownloading the 3 GB mod and seeing what happens. Sorry for hijacking your thread, but maybe any answer I get could help you as well. Are you also experiencing low quality (blurry) textures in general? If so, you should try going into your graphics card's control panel and making sure that Texture Filtering is on Quality or High Quality, not Performance or lower. You may have general settings in one place, and then specific settings for Skyrim, so make sure you're messing with settings for Skyrim. Also, Skyrim HD's .bsa archives belong in the \Data\ directory as they already contain the rest of the file structure the game looks for resources in. Placing these archives in the \Data\textures\ folder is just eating unnecessary hard drive space. .bsa archives are a completely different subject than replacer textures. If none of the above helps I recommend getting a simple texture replacer (something like this) and installing it via it's instructions to see if it's working. If so, then your issue with Skyrim HD is coming from the plugin activation side of things... I went in, and my setting was indeed on "performance". I set it on "high quality" for the time being, will check in-game and report findings. The graphics card I'm using is Nvidia Geforce 560m. EDIT: Alright, it didn't work, thank you for the suggestion though. Hold on, I'll try the texture replacer as well and see what happens. EDIT2: Yeah, no dice. I try to spawn them with player.additem 0005B6A1 and all I get is "clothes". Nooo idea. Does "Load Loose Files" have to be checked? Cause it won't stay checked.
  5. A good idea, if possible, would be that if you attack IMMEDIATELY (note: Within a 3rd of a second or something) after a parry, you should have a chance to disarm the enemy (read: knocking it out of their hands when they're off guard). I think it would be pretty cool, and while not always going to happen it would make the combat feel a lot more real and immersive :)

  7. It may very well be. Keep in mind, mine was more extreme examples. Maybe mixing Fireball and Chain Lightning won't give you an entirely new spell effect, but maybe add Fire damage to your chain lightning. Maybe make your fireball break into a chain lightning on-hit. There are probably simpler ways to do it that don't involve making new spells from the ground up and just involve (when you merge the spells) adding existing attributes of one spell to the other. Of course it wouldn't be as *cool* but it would still be better than what we have. Think of Magicka. Mixing certain elements and hitting shift can give you like a lightning bolt, or a blue screen of death attack, or Haste, but just clicking to attack will cast the spell normally (a basic spell with attributes of all the elements you chose as opposed to an entirely new spell) I think it could work. Welp, time to learn how to mod. Thing is, that's the type of mod that can keep expanding. Maybe start off with 10 new spells or whatever, and then you can take suggestions or maybe someone can get their (fitting) spell in if they donate; things like that. It's really up to the maker, but there's a LOT of potential there. (Btw the Magicka comparison was just to highlight two potential options, not being able to switch between the two like you can in Magicka.)
  8. It's something this game desperately needs to make the magic system more enthralling and something it was supposed to have from the beginning. OKAY SURE anyone can take a fireball in one hand and a fireball in another hand to make a big fireball. Sure. But can just anyone take fireball in one hand and chain lightning in another to make a fireball that bounces between 5 targets with increasing speed? Can just anyone take a Flame Rune in one hand and a Conjure: Bow in another to spawn a bow that fires arrows with a delayed explosion on impact? Can anyone take a Waterbreathing in one hand and a Paralyze in another to turn your target into a fish? Didn't think so. Keep in mind, there wouldn't have to be combinations for EVERY two spells; it would be hard to keep them interesting and varied, but it would be awesome. I was thinking about doing it myself.. but I have no clue of the first thing about modding. All I know is I thought about this before the game even came out and was disappointed when it wasn't there. I have faith in you, modding community <3
  9. All of today, I was trying to get one mod working: Skyrim HD (the 2k pack). No dice, still, as of now. I started off with the data files thing in skyrim launcher being blanked, and I fixed that. I ended up with them not showing up in my menu, and I managed to fix that. Now, I finally have all of them in my game and in my Mod Manager as plugins (a bunch of separate parts) and they're all activated, but they're STILL not showing up in-game. Help? I will post screenshots of any files or folders when requested. Before we get there, yes I have a "cracked" copy of Skyrim, but I have a legit disc. I didn't want to run it through Steam. Never been a huge fan when I have ways around it. I can post pictures of my disc as well if anyone has issues (the serial has been used, I let my stepmom use it after I got my copy installed. Yes my stepmom plays Skyrim.) Either way, all discrepancies aside; does anyone know what is going on or how to fix the issue? I already went ahead and completely disabled my UAS, so that's not an issue anymore. Please. I'm almost at my wit's end.
