By the time it would even be close to being finished, Bethesda will probably have a new engine and the âmodâ would be outdated.

Considering Bethesda has been working with the same engine since Oblivion and Todd Howard doesn't want to devote resources to developing a new one, I doubt that very much. Considering the travesty that was FO76, I don't think it's a bad idea to put more faith in the community to make a better game with what's available to them than Bethesda. I mostly just wanted to pose this as an idea to be discussed, since if it generated enough discussion the idea would eventually reach Bethesda -- or at maybe an indie dev, who could use the ideas in their own games. It's not like talking about larger-than-life ideas is detrimental.

Thanks for not answering a single one of my questions though, your negativity is very helpful.

What questions? I was not being negative, it is literally just too ambitious.

  2. No one is going to do this, youâre right, itâs literally making a completely different game with hundreds to thousands of hours of work. By the time it would even be close to being finished, Bethesda will probably have a new engine and the âmodâ would be outdated. Youâre better off just waiting until the next Fallout comes out and hopefully thatâs more enjoyable for you.
  3. If there are specific mods you want converted, check the ârequirements and permissionsâ tab on the modâs description. If you canât find anything in the description or the permissions, you could always kindly ask the mod author to port it or if they canât do it if they can give permission for others to port it.

Modders (who arenât the original mod author of the mod you want ported) wonât help unless you can get permissions.

  4. I've been forced to download the latest Photoshop after using Photoshop 2015 on my old computer and being unable to get it back with Adobe's BS/subscription crap. Intel TextureWorks was an absolute lifesaver and I used that plugin for every mod I've made when doing textures, but unfortunately it's not compatible with the new Photoshop. Does anyone know of any alternative plugins? I can't find any at all and I'd really rather not start using programs that I have no idea/experience in when I've got so many WIPs that I want to try and finish :(

Please bear in mind I'm not a 3D modeller so telling me to open the textures on the model in Blendr is, I'm sure, said with the best intentions, but I can't do it.

Wonder if the modders who spent hours doing content about the darker times of germany will have a chance to backup their work or if stuff will just be outright deleted from now on.

Y'know, a bunch of modders trust the site and wouldn't bother keeping backups, or lost the backups long ago...

If someone doesn't have backups of their own work and assets, that's 110% their own fault. Nexus Mods is a hosting service, not a file backup service. Simple as that.

This. I also have to question who these people are that spend hours making content like this.

  6. This is from invalidfateâs profile:

Just feel free to use/modify/port/redistribute all my published mods AS LONG AS

    1. Proper credits (including all related authors), as a basic respect.

    2. Get the permission from the original author if any (for ported mods)

    3. do not make profit

So if you can abide by these rules and get permission from the original modder that invalidate ported from, then you should be able to go ahead.

  7. In the articles tab on the Hardbody mod there is a conversion guide. I think it will be more fruitful if you do them yourself :) it is a really good and not too complicated tutorial with only a few steps so if you are a beginner it should be easy to follow.
  8. If people donât have permission, they wonât port it. You will have to wait for permission. I donât think the person who porter to Xbox has permission, hence the non response.
