  1. The world model is the .nif file, which is the mesh. For example, female body mesh is found under meshes > actors > character > character assets > FemaleBody.nif. What exactly are you trying to give a nif to? Or are you trying to give it a ground mesh (the thing that you drop when you drop it from your inventory)?

  2. I'd say it's probably best to model it over a vanilla hairstyle, and maybe offer one alternate version that's a bit higher than the first one (maybe use a hairstyle you like or one you see around a lot that has a bit more height). Unfortunately, you can't please everyone so I always say it's best to do one 'vanilla' and one 'modded' version for people. Hope that makes sense :)

  3. It's a savegame, which means it can't be made standalone unless the author installs Transfer Settlements and then transfers the settlement cells.

I'd recommend contacting the author to see if it can be done, however you would still need to download all of those required items.

  4. Hey everyone,

I'm having the issue where the eyebrow retextures that I've made either:

    1. Turn the character's face brown and removes the eyebrows

    or

    2. All eyebrows are the same bushy style

I've read all of the suggestion on the ThBrows page (as people seem to be having the same issue with the latest version of that mod), yet nothing I've put into application works (same size textures as face texture etc etc). I've tried using numerous face textures and it still doesn't work. It seems to be an issue I've seen across a few mods and a few websites, but I've yet to see a solution.

If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it! I just hand painted ten sets of brows so I'd really like to get them working!

  5. Hey there, if it's just a retexture, you don't need to use the Creation Kit for it. You just need to package it in it's correct path so the Mod Manager can put it in the right place.

Example if you were retexturing Hancock's outfit, the way your file would need to be packaged is: textures > clothes > Hancock > Hancock_d.dds.

    Hope that helps!

  6.

Thank you for posting this, my female presets are on there.

I have no idea what people even gain from doing crap like this.

of course money... they did something very discouraging for us modder, especially no-profit modders like OP

I know money, but for sites that aren't that popular, it's not even worth it.

  7. I don't get it.

Isn't it possible to just have a standalone copy of all the various rain-blocking roofs with transparency in the texture files and other obvious glass-like texture art added with frames and what-have-you???

    Come on!

Wouldn't that then essentially be the same thing as a regular good-ole rain-blocking roof but just with the added transparency? Not really sure off the top of my head but I think the ammount of transparency couold be set in such a way that it wouldn't just look like a hole in the roof with no water coming through it. LOL

Would that work??? Not sure how that would handle sunlight though... but then ligh goes through walls in FO4 already anyway.

I think people at bethesda might benefit from some sort of ADD medication to help them see things through ALL the way to the end when they start doing something - or a palm strike in the face. *censored* slap?

No, that's not how it works. If it is an outside cell, there is going to be rain.

There is no way to fix it.

  8. I do ports when possible, I use the same name on beth as I do here and 90% of the mods I have there are legal ports.

I agree with playing on the sofa, FO4 feels more like a game you want to play on the sofa. It's nice to be able to use mods on Xbox but, sorry to say the children did this to themselves and I can understand why some modders want nothing to do with console mods.

    ... only 90%? Yikes.

  9. The best protocol to follow is if the modder hasn't asked for critique or says they are taking requests/suggestions, don't make them. A request can be 10 words long, but in reality the actual work required to do it would be 10hrs long. I understand that a lot of people who don't mod don't really understand the actual process of things, but it's better to learn yourself or post requests in the mod request forums to see if anyone is willing to take it on.

  10. What The Vampire Dante said, and also because everything you want in a mod pack, someone else might hate. So then you will have to have 500 different versions of one mod pack otherwise people just complain. It's easier to download mods individually.

Also you can always ask if something is compatible with something else..

  11. I think this is a cool idea! And it’s nice that it’s opt in/out so people that don’t like it for whatever reason aren’t forced to be doing it.

You also covered all of the questions I would have had about it, so thanks for the extensive post! Looking forward to seeing the system in action :)
