  1. looks like its unanimous then..lol.. Good job to as I really like the glagolitic alphabet as well.. I only put the old English there to show it, I wasnt considering using that for the Imperial alphabet, I completely agree Shadowjin.. But I might use this on Nordic banner, signs etc etc.. http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j398/ActusReus/Thread%20Banners/IVCyrodilicEmpire.png
  2. This looks nice. That does look nice.. The glagolitic alphabet also looks very nice IMO, its what was used in the Witcher 2.. Google Images... Ye old English or Englisc looks pretty Nordic as well.. Englisc The old German or Gothic alphabet looks pretty nice too.. Gothic..
  3. I will doing some brushing up on some more Nifskope tutorials later today, if I find anything out I will post here.. fingers crossed.. Otherwise I might have to try out the latest version of the import/export script again.. Yes, yes, yes, no..lol.. I will be replacing all banners, shields, helms, outfits and weapons in the vanilla Skyrim.. with a few exceptions as and when I go, no exceptions when it comes to armour, just some of the peasant clothes, as I think they fit quite well.. Farmers Clothes 01, 02, 03 & I think 04 are all nice enough.. Female version will be made, however they will not be skimpy or sexy.. the standalone mods will be the non-faction armours I create as and when I go, these are basically demo versions of the future replacers, they will be updated and possibly changed when the final project is finished. Whereupon they will be replacers and non-replacers.. By this I mean that all vanilla armours will be replaced, but there will also be much more variation of each armour added by Credo.. Example being, instead of.. I dont know how many leather armours there are in vanilla but lets say its 2/3.. there will be at least 4/5 variations of the "normal" leather non-faction armour to choose from.. but none of the vanilla content.. Like I said if someone wishes to create a version of the mod that doesn not replace normal vanilla non faction armours, I will upload this as an optional version of the mod. But I will not be working towards this..
  4. Cyrodiil was going to be a hybrid Greek/Ming Dynasty setting with immense jungles and dragon motifs everywhere. The only reason the are dressed like they are in Oblivion is because nobody paid attention to the Morrowind in-game lore/books and probably assumed that because Cyrodiil was the "middle" province, they made it generic as all hell. Credos Empire outfits are a reaction to this; I'd rather see some Witcher stuff combined with the preexisting Vanilla Empire armor than having them haul around in brightly colored leotards. Realistically, the Empire is spread out all over the place trying to fend off the Aldermeri Dominion while also dealing with the Civil War in Skyrim. Because of this, their supplies are low and it doesn't make much sense to have heavily plated armored soldiers in the battlefield. It looks cool, but realistically and economy-wise, its impractical. The Stormcloak armors look nice though; like some peasants just slapped on some gear over their normal work clothes and picked up an axe off to face the Empire. As for the Blades, I'd leave em as-is, because iirc the Witcher 2 has hardly anything really oriental looking. Can't wait to see what he comes up with in terms of mage robes/vigilant armors. Latin Really? I was looking over the UESPWiki and couldn't find much reference to that, I'm certainly not calling you a liar, however I am glad that they ignored this lore though.. I would argue about Cyrodiil in Oblivion being generic, I loved some of the differences in the towns, Chorral and Bravil were awesomely different IMO.. I get what your saying re the Empire is waning, however an Empire as great as the Cyrodilic one even when a shadow of its former self would still be immensely rich, I point you to the real life shadow of the Roman Empire i.e. the Byzantine Empire. Whilst meagre in power when compared to the old Roman Empire it still had great wealth and was able to field well equipped and trained men (just nowhere near as many as before).. The Blades will be changed, and I now have some solid ideas, however I see them being amongst one of my greater challanges and will require far more work on new meshes and textures from my brother and I. As for Latin.. I disagree, Latin is no more lore friendly than Greek, they are both real world languages and equally unfriendly to any fantasy setting, just because Beth made a poor attempt on basing the Cyrodilic Empire on the Roman Empire does not mean Latin becomes more lore friendly, not in my book at least. I do agree that Greek is a poor choice, but when I chose this alphabet I had no idea it was the actual Greek alphabet, I recognised some of the symbols, omege, beta etc etc, but was not aware that it was the full alphabet. It was listed as "Symbol" in Photoshop and I just liked the look of it. Now as far as using another language, I am certainly open to ideas, if anyone can post and examples of the Imperial alphabet I would be most grateful, however I am not J.J. Tolkein and so do not have the ability to create my very own working a language for the purpose of the mod. Saying that.. maybe I can create a fictional alphabet, just using the same linguistic rules as the English language, i.e. ABC etc but fictional letters to replace these.. This I woulld like to turn over to you guys for some ideas, if anyone wishes to design some letters and post here that would be great.. Only? You mean no vanilla replacers for standard items such as Steel armour etc etc.. I am afraid this is not something that I will be working towards, but if someone wishes to do the CK work to make a non-replacer version I will upload it as an option with the completed mod.. Hey Gron, thanks for you constant support and help.. I will iron these out shortly.. However the Gauntlets of Plate was intentional, due to a momentary lapse in imagination and there already being "Plate Gauntlets" in the CK.. Soo I kinda got stuck on what to call them and still be able to find them in the CK..
  5. Can you be more specific? Re: the low res textures?, I have not settled on what I want to do with the blades yet. Do you know of a more lore friendly alphabet suitable for the Imperials?.. Yes, unfortunately.. I am currently using an older version of the Nif import/export script for 3DS Max as it is more stable and this means there are less Biped objects to choose when setting up the BSDismemberment modifier.. If anyone knows a way to change this in Nifskope it would be much appreciated.. I will be releasing an optional file at some point tomorrow where the Helm and skullcap/liner are both just one item..
  6. My ideas of how I like things to look is the only real credit I am due, of course as long as you subscribe to my re-imagining of Skyrim.. Always respect the monkeys! This is outlined on the 1st page and on the main page of every mod I release, it probably did need stating again. So far I have made very few models from scratch and no outright armour sets. If I were making each one of these from scratch I would most likely still be on my 1st armour..lol.. There will be some completely new components and already has been one or two new texture (bits).. But essentially all the hard work was done by CD Projekt RED.. Ported over by L0rd0fWar as said, along with AlphaWolf and my self.. However, its not all just there game ready once I put them together, I still have to reskin them which is probably the most time consuming.. do a tonne of Nifskope (the more objects the more work) and do the weight sliders, I don't count re-texture as work as I absolutely love doing it.. I will not be doing this, as I don't have the time to spend away from working on the main project, however I remember Necrocytosis volunteering to do some CK work a while ago, not sure if your still interested.. If he's not and no one else wishes to volunteer, then I am afraid they will stay confined to the Smithy.. Only in the final package will work like this be done by me.. sorry..

  8. lol.. Thanks.. Yup.. well.. no actually, I just don't have a job at the moment.. Things will slow down dramatically when I get one in Jan unfortunately..
  9. Hey Skooma, looking great, nice to see you followed through with the WIP..

  12. @Skooma... Thats my brother commenting, he is far better to appreciate your architecture..
  13. Thanks.. Working on that one right now Gron, both got pushed back a little, DCOP update and alternative armour (Like the Northern one) will most likely be finished tomorrow.. These will feature in the final release of Credo also..
  14. Thanks Skooma.. Thats a very nice looking tower, would be perfect for the later stages.. I look forward to seeing your progress and talking to you about possible collaboration/contributions in the future.. Big update on the Northman Armour mod: New version just uploaded  Now 2 armours, a heavy and light version of the original (well there is a big difference with the light).. http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j398/ActusReus/Northman%20Armour/NorthmanTitle.png NEW Northman Armours
  15. Thanks for all the great pictures guys, and the support... Going to be an update today.. FIX for the calves vanishing when you wear other smaller boots on the Dark Coat of Plates.. And a variation on both armours with new helms, and maybe one or two surprises..
  16. Err. could you provide link to that thread?I am not going to trust that link. lol.. certainly looks fishy..
  17. Well, I havent made any yet..lol.. They are all reused, resized, reskinned and retextured assets mainly from the Witcher 2 as CD Projekt RED were absolutely amazing in the fact they allowed anyone to use them for non-profit purposes like this.. I have also used some Open Source models and textures from the TaleWolrds forum and the Mount and Blade Nexus, mostly for Helms, but I will be relying on them heavily for all sorts of medieval and nordic weaponry.. Whilst my brother and I will be creating brand new content for Credo, the project would be almost impossible for a 2 man job when creating everything from nothing.. And it would seem a crime to not use what CD Projekt RED have so generously allowed us to use.. The technical aspects of what I have done so far are amateur, the only part I have true belief in is my own artistic eye and vision for the project as a whole.. I am currently acting like a sort of producer, choosing bits here and there and re-painting them to make something new (whilst not exactly original).. I have recently been quite harshly criticised by a fellow modder (who will remain unnamed), because my 2 released mods made it to the Hot files. The criticism was that I did not accomplish any of the work my self. And have never claimed to have made any of the models that I have not, and always given credit where it is due.. Its true that I did not make any of the models from scratch, but I did put them together in such a way that other people enjoyed them and wished to download them for their personal use, this is what matters to me. I do not see my self in competition with anyone else. I am simply creating this Credo mod for my own benefit, as I was disappointed with many of the aesthetic's of vanilla Skyrim. Not for popularity. Saying this, of course it is a very happy bi-product if other people share my views and tastes and even tell me they are looking forward to playing Skyrim all over again with my new look.. Sorry probably more info than you bargained for.. With regards to learning to do what I am doing, its easy.. as long as you have the time and patience.. Nightasy video tutorials Check out the above, its where I learnt pretty much everything I know.. 3DS Max is available for students and the unemployed (apparently), so that's what I use..
  18. @Nuked.. Right I looked through them all, amazing.. just amazing.. I will be coming back to that post for some time I think.. Oh and this http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ls0hh2q0Ou1qa09nfo1_500.jpg What is that? I'll tell you what that is, its completely inaccurate and over the top.. But I love it..lol.. maybe not the helm and certainly not the oversized mace, but it looks like one of the better miniatures from warhammer but life size.. @Siegrain.. Also fantastic, especially like how the knights/men at arms are dissected and the different parts are explained. Re the historical accuracy of certain items: Its more by feel than by strict time periods, I think it was more than a little inaccurate of my self to label this a medieval themed mod in the 1st place.. Whilst what you say is true about the technological differences and the lack of realistic open field battles, I see Skyrim as a possibility to take part in a play (sort of).. By this I mean certain things must be scaled down by need, i.e. the amount of combatants in certain battles or the amount of NPC's in Holds.. So I will be striving to find a balance between creating a feel of something big (I have gone off the word epic due to its over misuse on the internet) and something that works within the constrictions of a computer game.. Credo, will be at some stage modular.. This 1st Credo being defined by replacing Arms and Armaments with that of a broad middle ages aesthetic. Empire = Advanced powerful European house of the middle to late medieval period, a healthy balanced mix of the Holy Roman Empire, France, Spain, England and the Italian City States (my favourite of which is Venezia).. Nords = Norsemen of an earlier period in the middle ages, spanning from the dark ages to the mid medieval period, whilst still having some influences from their more advanced neighbour the Cyrodilic Empire.. Not just Norse, but everything the men of northern europe helped influence.. i.e. the Rus, Volga Vikings, Varangian Guard and certain other troops of the Byzantine Empire, Anglo Saxons, Normans and of course Vikings themselves..lol.. Sounds like a complete mess, when I put it like this I know.. but then its my job (now along with my brother Aspicio) to use our imaginations to meld these designs/cultures/aesthetics into something presentable that we can both enjoy whilst playing Skyrim.. I stated that Credo would be modular.. Future modules of Credo (entirely depending on the passage of time and circumstances it may bring), will be to Overhaul other aspects of the world or Skyrim.. Interiors, castles, architecture, NPC's and more.. but this is currently so far off its not even worth talking about yet.. Actus
  19. Wow, Nuked, making up for lost time eh? Thats loads.. Love the miniatures! and welcome back.. Sorry to hear you were affected by the storm, hope all is well.. I will take a proper look through the links you posted later today..

  22. Whats ACE? and keywords?..lol.. Should hopefully work fine with Immersive Armours.. No, the only armours currently released are 2 non faction ones: Dark Coat of Plates & Northman Armour ol.. Im not sure what you mean by hats? The kettle helm?.. And..lol.. I really don't know why you would think the colour orange is more fitting for Imperial outfits.. Is that lore related? As there are no Empires in history or fiction that I know of that used Orange as their primary colour (although I am not certain).. Thanks Gron, I think you post here more than I do.. .. Yeah no helms just because I havent settled on what I am using yet.. Whilst the Hounskull Bascinet looks pretty awesome, and along with the Pigface Bascinet will be used in the mod.. I dont see it fitting the look I am going for with the Northern Knights of the Hold.. Now this is the kinda of offer I like, Nuked has not been on here posting Osprey pictures for a while now, and this was my favourite source.. I completely agree with your idea of showing some cross border cultural influence, like you said in the soutth of Skyrim. Your English is perfect and your input is most welcome. Thank you..
  23. I will be creating new outfit lists and my own level lists. I will also have to go through the NPC's with a fine tooth comb to ensure everyone is dressed how I feel they should be.. Whilst compatibility is something I will try to keep in mind, its not a top priority.. As to how many more before release.. many..lol..
