  1. You've come a long way, nice to see you are still making more armors for your mod. Great work on the designs, Actus, the Ulfric Armor is specially badass :)

    Why thank you my friend..

Wouldn't a cape get in the way during combat? I mean, I can see royalty and such wearing it, but your typical guard, especially in riften, seems more inclined to be more mobile in order to catch those pesky thieves.

I agree with this. Not just in combat, but I also imagine capes getting in the way when trying to run through foliage and stuff. A quick google search told me that capes were often used to distinguished ranks and alliances, so I could understand a guard captain using a cape to show his/her position. Maybe you could make the capes a separate piece of equipment like the Cloaks of Skyrim mod and only give it to high ranking guards. Also I think that back in medieval times people wore more of a cloak kind of thing rather then a cape to keep warm. But it really depends on what your style is; if your trying to be more aesthetically pleasing or historically accurate. Either way, the armor looks amazing.

That is a picture for my idea of a "Knight of the Hold", this ranks him much higher than said guard captain.. This is not a town guard..

Is there any chance for a standalone set of all of the armors and weapons that you could just put in a chest, as I absolutely love the 13th century armors, but I have a lot of mods on mine already that are armor overhauls. Also, I'm not an amazing modder, but I am a damn good history buff, and I'd love to help you out.http://therionarms.com/links.shtml lots of good weapons made now in old styles.http://www.madmattsarmory.com/14thCentury.php Armor, modern made old stylesFiore fighting style if you change animations http://www.thearma.org/essays/Fiore/FioreDeiLiberi_StudyGuide.v3.6.pdfhttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0756606543?ie=UTF8&tag=stormthecastl-20&link_code=as3&camp=211189&creative=373489&creativeASIN=0756606543 good bookhttp://www.aemma.org/vmp/books/armsArmour.htm books, some affordable, some not so muchhttp://www.armorandarmsclub.org/research.html book referenceshttp://books.google.com/books?id=tftMAAAAMAAJ&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_ge_summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q&f=false free Ebook, very good reference

I'll be frank.. no, the mod will be released as a whole package when ready. Thank you for your sources you have listed here, I'm glad you enjoy your history and your ideas views are most welcome..

Edit: There may well possibly be a few armours released on the way, but no faction armours..

  2. @xxfmanxx.. lol.. don't worry, that's my own stupid fault, biped object issue in the CK I didnt set correctly, fix will be up by tomorrow as its nearly bedtime here for me..

    Todays armour:

  3. Thanks for the input, I havent done any Stormcloak armours yet though..

The 2 under Sons of Skyrim, Windhelm Guardsman and Windhelm Knight of the Hold are Ulfric's own men, not Stormcloak rebels..

Each Hold will have a Guardsman and a Knight of the Hold and there will be at least 2 variants of each one..

  4. I just remade my armour mod from scratch and still cant get the 1st person models to display.. Unless they are used a replacer instead of a custom armour...

Biped Objects in CK : Checked

BSDismemberment : Checked in Max and matches up to Nifskope

Skin : Redone and redone again..

Vertext colours and update tangent space : Checked..

and besides "Unless they are used a replacer instead of a custom armour" so the models are sound.. and unless I am going crazy my CK work is fine.. but still nadda! :wallbash:

  5. comment pulled straight from the bethesda skyrim forumsUpdate isn't far off. We're working with getting it up with the folks from Valve. Fingers crossed for Monday. once you get through all the hate, But tbh they kinda deserved t for being so short sighted hardly takes a genius to say lets release a ck update @ the same time so we dont break anything

  6. I cant seem to "see" where I could use them. Probably will change though as I get more ideas.. Not committed to them being used for Imperial Knights, but then they are too fancy for anyone other than the Imperials..

There's plenty of other military forces that might use something that fancy, maybe the Knights of the Rose from Wayrest, High Rock? The lore states that Wayrest is one of the wealthiest cities in High Rock.

    http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Knights_of_the_Rose

    Do they feature in Skyrim?

I havent played past the 2nd Greybeard mission, as I was taking my baby steps in modding when Skyrim was released.. I stopped trying to mod and stopped playing Skyrim as I could not mod it, at the time. Since the Nightasy tutorials I have learned so much and am now able to work towards my goals with Credo.

So please no spoilers (I have already spoiled a few things for my self by looking through the CK :armscrossed:)

But suggestions like this are very useful.. so thanks

  7. Not a problem. I knew when I posted it that it'd be a long shot, given that your focus is more on western Europe in the 1300s, but I'm a big fan of the hussars' style, and thought I'd bring it up. If you do find a place to use elements of that design - awesome, I'll be psyched. If not, I'll still be downloading your work, because I'm already a big fan of Credo. As a history buff, your attention to detail appeals to me.

    Thanks, that means a lot..

Quote, quote everything! Then there is always proof. :P

Oh god, just imagine if people could quote you in the same way out there in the real world.. I'd be in trouble.. :whistling:

UPDATE: Alright, not sure about this one, especially the helm.. that's why I haven't updated the 1st post, I should have gone to bed at least 2 hours ago, so will probably look quite different by tomorrow evening..

    http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j398/ActusReus/Thread%20Banners/SonsofSkyrim.png

  8. For future reference:1. Go to Steam2. Go to your Game Library.3. Right click the game and go to properties.4. Go to Updates5. Select "Do Not Update Automatically"Second, unless you have a very good reason for it, don't make your mod dependent on update.esm
First, the above fix will not work. Steam will still update anything you have, as soon as you try to use/play Skyrim or the CK. It thinks "Don't update automatically" just means "Wait till I'm online." But you can check here, for SkyrimUnplugged, which generally does stop updates.Second, there is one very good reason for making a mod dependant on Update.esm -- It generally ensures that the person using your mod doesn't have a pirated copy of Skyrim.

I wasn't using the Update as a master.. just the main file.. and things are still all screwed up for me atm..

  9. Sorry about that. ;D I can edit the quote out if you want.

lol..no I suppose it will teach me a lesson for the future.. Obviously the lesson is not "dont get drunk", just dont post whilst drunk..

Oh and to respond to your suggestions from last night in a more sober manner: I was thinking about the winged hussar's helm, as there is already a ported model from the Witcher 2, thanks to L0rd0fWar.. It worked well in the Witcher, but then they are Polish so it was really a given that they would like this..

I'm still not a 100% on them though, not because I do not like them, I know I came out with some historical accuracy drivel yesterday (sorry about that), its just for the moment, I cant seem to "see" where I could use them. Probably will change though as I get more ideas.. Not committed to them being used for Imperial Knights, but then they are too fancy for anyone other than the Imperials..

    Thanks for the suggestion.

  10. hangover lolololol...could you translate your drunken english to normal english plz?

You're a true Son of Skyrim Actus. xDHope the hangover isn't too bad and keep up the good work!

Yeah, not the worst hangover I've had, but had a lot to do today, with me missus taking me away from my PC to go smelly food shopping.. >:(

All I can say about my stupid drunken posts last night is..

Cant even edit them as Janus quoted me.. :armscrossed: lol..

Will definately have something new by this evening, and I really hope I will get the fixes done for the Dark Coat of Plates and the Northman Armour (If required, although I haven't heard anything about the Northman). Can't do much though until they update the CK..

  11. ActusRes, Obsidian is creating a game like Baldurs Gate, Its called Project Eternity, and by the way, you sound like Oghren, drunk guy.

    Yeah its looking awesome..

Welp I guess he won't be working on his mod early Saturday morning, that's for sure!

Ha! proved you wrong! plenty of water, 4 paracetamol, blue monster, english breakfast and im good to go..

  12. Kudos to Nivea...

anyoe remember lands of lore or Ravenloft? or Baldures gate I and II, thats were I wish games were at these days, why dont they make em tlike thy used too? going offtopiv on my own thread..lol

    still orange!

    Edit6: there wrere not 2 edits 5's!!!

    there wrere 3 lol.. wopps

  13. I think this project is great, seriously, the armors look awesome.but in my opinion it would be a bit more awesome if you would make the armors a bit more lore friendly. I know that this is your own interprentation of the tes lore, but i think it would be better for the heavy imperial knight armor to have some hoplite-type helmet so they kinda look like they did in Oblivion, same for the light armour and archers, and the stormcloaks could look a bit more barbaric, kinda like your northman armor, the armor of Ulfric and Tulius look awesome though.i know you probably aren't gonna change a thing just because i commented, but i felt like sharing my opinion.the akaviri are still going to be eastern right? even if they don't resemble the japanese warriors.EDIT: after reconsideration i think the archers look fine lol? besides do you need some inspiration/sketches for the replacement armor/clothing of the jarls?

All ideas, thoughts, feelings and suggestions are warmly welcomed on this thread, post as many links to pictures or sources you think would suit this mod as you like..

At the end of the day, it is me.. and at the moment only me whom is creating these assets.. I have my work cut out for me, I have not been kidding my self as to how much work will be involved, but ultimately I am doing this for my self. Do not misunderstand me.. If others like my ideas and wish to contribute their own, I am over the moon.. I love the fact that other people may share the same or similar taste as my self, I knew I couldn't be the only one..

Addressing your point regarding Hellenic style helms for the Imperials like that of Oblivion: I'll be frank.. I'm not a fan of the Greco style helms with medieval style armour.. This mod is a medieval/ish (ish meaning spanning a larger time period, but not as far back as ancient Greece) interpretation of Tamriel in the 4th era..

To be specific..(probably not too specific)..

The armours I am most interested in the armours of the middle ages encompassing the 5th to the 15th centuries of Europe.. This is a huge time period with a huge variety of armours..

  14. Ohh dear..

I released a fix for one of my mods yesterday, tested it thoroughly before release to see that it worked, then I get someone informing that they have just started experiencing said issue..

So I go back into my game with my UNCHANGED esp, and there it is.. the problem is back again, after I saw with my own eyes that it was resolved..

Around this time I noticed the little steam pop-up (bottom right) saying that Skyrim has finished downloading..

Is this likely to be related do you think? I cant see another reason..

Edit: My mods were not mastered to Update, just the Main file and the active file were loaded..

  15. Same.. I tested it.. just now gone back into my UNCHANGED esp.. and floating hands!

My Skyrim was updating yesterday, did yours?

I also redid the 1st person view completely and it still doesn't work.. I really don't know what's going on..

The boots I also fixed in the last updated, and tested.. will go back into the game and see if this has now magically stopped working

EDIT: Looks like the culprit was an update that I knew NOTHING about, thanks for that Steam.. (bunch of jobbers)

    http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/821467-last-update-killed-creation-kit-help/

  16. Wow.. I fixed that yesterday and tested it on both weights _0 and _1 before release, and now I have just gone back in to test again and its happening to me to.. :armscrossed:

Very confused as to why this is happening.. will post a new version of the armour inclusive of all previous fixes once this ones sorted.. Thanks for the heads up..

  17. Thanks Patrick..

xxfmanxx, I dont understand fists are hands? Not annoying whatsoever, bugs need to be reported in order to be fixed.. When I tested the latest version yesterday I tried 1st person mode with and without gauntlets and I could see his hands.

Or is that not what you were referring to?

  18. Thanks for the pics Art the sketch and the far right armour are my favourites, something to keep in mind.. Oh and when I tackle the Akaviri armour I certainly will not be using Samurai armour as the basis.. as cool as Samurai are..

UPDATE: Managed to get another one done tonight, been a good day all'n'all..

    http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/j398/ActusReus/Thread%20Banners/SonsofSkyrim.png

  19. Hmmm.. I thought the biped options were ok.. let me check..

EDIT: New update available for DL FIXES missing calves when armour is equipped with no boots or small boots

Thanks for the heads up xxfmanxx

  20. Thanks people for the kind comments..

Oooookay... after staying up most of the night and getting up early tomorrow, I beleive that all the issues people were experiencing with the Dark Coat of Plates armour are now resolved.. I accidently deleted the entire bloody mod last night, I thought I was just deleting the file, but no I deleted the whole thing..

Its on it way back up as I type, and it now should be working fine..

I would very much appreciate if there are any willing and experienced screenshot takers out there to take some for the main images for the mod..
