  1. This is starting to sound familiar. Hmmm! I haven't actually played the game yet as Amazon were sluggish in getting my pre-order out to me, so I'm still waiting to play, but I bet these random CTDs are someting to do with the in-game auto save feature. Try disabling the "save on rest", "save on wait", and "save on fast travel" options in the settings menu. It's just a thought. That used to fix those annoying CTDs is Fallout3, FNV, & Oblivion... Purple Textures are missing textures, so another way around this might be to extract all the contents from the *.bsa files and copy them to respective folders: Textures, Meshes, et cetera. I can't say it'll work for sure but they used to work in the past. 4GB enabler too! Can't believe we're still having this problem though. Maybe Bethesda should pass their coding to Valve just before release so that they can check for errors, haha. I've never had a Valve game crash on me and they always ran like a dream ;)

  3. I have absolutey no idea how to build landscape in CS. I've managed to create custom races and import weapons (made by other modders) but that's about it. Ironically, I'm more well versed in TES4EDIT than I am CS. Any help on how to do this would be awesome! I would have no idea where to go in order to do this in CS and most of the tutorials I've found are quite generic and don't offer much help (or perhaps it's just my inability to apply that knowledge to my issue, who knows ;))

Hi all, I'm currently using WAC's overhaul which can be found here (you'll need to sign up in order to see it):- http://waalx.com/Rea....php?f=12&t=249 It's an awesome piece of work and I urge anyone who's unaware of this project to check it out. I found it completely by chance earlier this year. You can't download it from the Nexus or Planetelderscrolls as far as I know. Within the WAC package there is a plug-in named Gladiators which effectively is a complete Arena overhaul. I absolutely love it and won't go back to the drab one. The only little niggle I with it is that, from the Arena Cell POV, (including the Spectators Arena Cell, etc), there's no VWD allowing you to see the IC white tower or the trees that surround the arena from the outside. I know that mods already exists that make such changes. One example is 'Arena Immersion Upgrade'. A picture of the subtle changes can be found here - http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/9881-1-1192859266.jpg There's one small problem, they aren't compatible with 'WAC - Gladiators' because of the way 'WAC - Gladiators' changes the content and positioning of objects within the relevant cells. So I would like to know how I can go about adding these features to the WAC - Gladiators plug-in myself. Is there some tool/utility that'll allow me to do this? I have a feeling it's probably a very simple thing to achieve. I'm just not sure how to do it. One difficult method I tried was to load WAC - Gladiators and an Arena Immersion Upgrade-type mod side by side and try and copy the VWD data and reposition it. But that is extremely hard work as you're practically working blind. If anyone could assist I would be most grateful :)
  5. I'm also trying to do the same, Auriana. I'm trying to convert some m/f armors from a mod into Roberts/HGEC models respectively. I thought it would be relatively simple and that I could do it in Nifscope. It appears not.   6. Since the initial post I decided to do an FNVmaster update (which I understand is still in beta stages?). Somehow it removed my archiveinvalidation.bsa (thus invalidating my textures and meshes) and messed up my DarnUI font settings. I didn't think it had any effect on the *.ini!! I know it's not supposed to do this... It might not even be possible for the MU to do this. Either way, I used MU like I would in FO3 and my FO3 was fairly stable. Well anyway, the master update seemingly messed my setup so much that I decided to uninstall all the mods through FOMM and I'll start installing them again this weekend. I wonder though, might it be a conflict between Populated Casinos, Wasteland Repopulated and IWS?? I can't know for sure but it's just a thought. Are these all compatible when running side by side? I was doing console saves in Fallout 3 but I hadn't even step foot outside of Goodsprings let alone make a save so I can't have a corrupted save - I start from the beginning each time. My ATI graphic settings are almost maxed out (I don't OC incidentally) and I don't turn on the native AA because the depth of field and DYNAVISION 2 effects make up for that (also runs more smoothly that way). I forgot to alter the iNumHavokThreads to 2. I'll do that now in prep for my remodding this weekend. If someone could shed any light on the suspected Populated Casinos, Wasteland Repopulated and IWS conflict I would be most grateful, preferably someone with a similar setup to me.   7. I haven't done a masterupdate (FNVedit) but will do if anyone feels it will make a real difference. I hear it's not always wise to just masterupdate even if it seemingly fixes the problem?
  8. Hi all, Need a bit of advice as I'm having some really odd non-specific CTD during the initial Goodsprings area after starting a new game. This is a fresh install of FNV (and Dead Money DLC) through Steam. I'm using fewer mods than I did with FO3 and I have tried the most obvious things to try and fix the problem. My setup is as follows: Win 7 64-bit ATI 5870 HD 4GB RAM AMD Athlon II x 2 Processor I said I receive a 'non-specific' CTD because there doesn't seem to be any catalyst. Though there is a small pattern emerging. It seems to be CTD after initiating conversation with Sunny Smiles and following her outside to get a lesson in shooting. It might crash when I follow her but through the Mojave but never at the same particular point. Nothing stick out in FNVedit but maybe I'm not looking hard enough or know what I'm looking for. I have a feeling it might be my load order or perhaps my set-up just can't handle the Hi Res textures. Haha! It runs smoothly and then just stops at random points for reasons I cannot find. I am using FOMM, fnv4gb.exe, latest NVSE (activated using console and getNVSEversion during gameplay) Hope one of you can help. :) Is FNV really as unstable as they're saying it is?
  9. It could well be that but I'm certain it was crashing before I installed the weather modification two days ago. I found the 'Dynamic Weather' mod initially: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10607 The confusing part was that it seemed to be telling me that Dynamic weather mod requires Skingrad's Enhanced Weather Rain & Snow in order to work properly. I attempted to follow the instructions given for both mods but they were too haphazard in description and seemed to contradict eachother in places. (example - get rid of this esp or keep this esp) In the end I just installed everything from both mods. Thing is, if I disable these with FOMM, I still get crashing. So does this not rule out the possible weather mod conflict as being the cause of my problem or do they still have the ability to affect the game even without being loaded?
  10. I'm also having problems similar to Puckstoppers. It seems to be crashing often yet intermittently. Current system specs/information: AMD Athelon II x2 250 Processor ATI Radeon 5870 HD 4GB Ram Granted it’s not the best out there but I hardly suspect it has something to do with my specs. I’m using real GOTY version of FO3 (with all DLC) installed to my C: as advised. Every mod I’ve installed is working so I thought perhaps it was my load order through FOMM. And yes I have ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated - Program Version installed and activated! I have the following mods installed: A Good Hair Day AgedPaperScraps Alice Body Type Alpha-C-ev_Underwater_Home-15135 Ambient_Wasteland_2_MP3_edition-12602 Hi Res Main by 4Acres HiRes Armor and Weapons Hi Res for all DLC Rock Add on Pack (Not the MAXIMUM res version of this, the step down from this) RivetCity hi res MiniHideout-v013 NeilMc_Terrain_Pack_1024-774 Everything else can be found in my load order picture attachment. If anyone can tell me why I’m having issues whilst playing the game, that would be great. The crashes tend to occur when I’m running through the wastes and multiple enemies are about or when I can see it loading the textures on in the background or loading into a new space. Rivet city being the main culprit.

Hi all, This is my first post here... :) I'll give you a brief background and level of modding knowledge: I've completed Fallout 3 several times when I owned it on the PS3 (Inc DLC) Last year I got rid of my PS3. Recently upgraded my home system and decided to buy Fallout 3 GOTY I came across Falloutnexus purely by accident after I heard there were hi-res textures to be used by the game. Went here and followed the instructions - http://www.donsalva.com/hq-hd-high-res-texture-packs-for-fallout-3/ I'm becoming increasing acquisitive the more I see amazing mods created by most of you. My understanding is still low level I would say... I'm seeing what most things do but admittedly, some of the mod installation techniques are over my head or don't come across as very clear because of patches, fixes, similarities... lack of differentiation, incompatibilities, etc. Now to the point! Also, regarding weapons: if it's a set then I presume it will overwrite the default weapons in Fallout. Any answers to this question are appreciated.
