  1. does anyone else get a slight pause whilst running across the wastes and the game needs to load new data?
  2. does unpacking a bsa into its individual files make loading new grids in the waste quicker as it doesnt have to unpack it each time to load the new grid?
  3. does anyone else get a brief pause whilst loading a new grid in the wastes? is there any way to make it less of a pause?
  4. i will try and change the values, its weird i dont get mini stutter or anything like that just load stutter and always in the same points, but i dont have a slow hdd at all! the ini's i need to change are in : C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas and C:\Users\Bob\Documents\My Games\FalloutNV?
  5. thanks i will give some of those a try, but i think its unfortunately here to stay....broken....engine....
  6. i will give this a try, but this looks to clear up microstutter, i dont have any microstutter, only stutter when it renders new things in the distance, and its not very often i have to run a long way in the wastes for it to come to a new bit it needs to load, and then i get a mini freeze depending on the part of the game depending on how long it lasts, considering the game normally runs at about 65-75 fps during these mini freezes it can dip to 20 something. its only at these specific points....stupid game engine....
  7. it only happens when running through the wastes and loading detail in front of me, but it isn';t my hardware :( i have a raid 0 which averages about 100mb/s. a gtx 460, a q6600 b3 at 3.2ghz and 4gb or ram, it happens at specific points in the wastes but once its "loaded" if i go back a long way away and go over the spot again it doesnt happen so its the first time its "loaded" into memory i guess. fallout new vegas stutter remover helps a bit and setting max pre rendered frames to 8 in nvidia control panel helps a bit. it only happens at specific points, from what ive read its been an engine issue since oblivion something to do with bad mem management, just looking for a way to reduce it. i tried reinstalling game, video drivers, even a clean windows install unfortunately still there.
  8. i seem to have an issue in certain parts of the game, its always the same parts and its when im outside, as i get closer to something and it needs to render a lot of new detail i get a mini pause and a drop in fps, it happens at the same points each time, it isnt random. ive tried different drivers, defragmenting, its not my hdd as i have a raid 0 array with fast transfer, it only seems to happen in this game i have found other people with a similar issue. is it the decompressing of the textures? and what can i do to remedy it?
