Nevermind, I already fixed the issue. The culprit was this mod it seems: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=87278271 Ironically this mod I installed to try to prevent exactly what just happened.

I can't seem to find any solution to this problem on the internet, but anyway here goes: I just want to change my character's face as a vampire. I had downloaded a mod which allows you to use human face textures as a vampire so I could use the same face as before (though I wanted to keep the fangs and eyes) and it worked, but at some point my character's warpaint suddenly changed to a different one, and i tried to use showracemenu but to no effect, all of the options for warpaint, warpaint color, and eye color are all the same one and same color. I can still change things like hair style and color, but I just want my old warpaint back again. Is there any mod that allows you to keep your own face and 'protect' from these kind of changes? Or a way to revert back to your old face? It changed at some point and I didn' even notice for a good thirty minutes until I turned the camera around. EDIT: Loaded a previous save. found that my face stays the same until I use vampire lord. Then it changes and I cannot change it back.

Hi all, I just finished the main quest and was a little disappointed to find that Azura did not show up and did not give me the awesome ring she's supposed to give, which means I went through the trouble of killing Dagoth Ur and have nothing but a journal entry to show for it. I really really wanted that ring though. The first time I beat him I just cast almsivi intervention and got out and then remembered I wsan't supposed to do that, loaded up a previous save, killed Dagoth Ur again, and voila- no ring. Loaded a save before I got to Dagoth Ur, ran through, killed him again, still no ring and no Azura. She fall asleep? I had no saves any farther back so I have to wonder, am I just forever locked out of getting the ring? Is there a cheat I can use to add the ring to my inventory and to force the cutscene? Or a patch that fixes this issue? Thanks.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=517504726 After going Vampire Lord and back, without the mismatched colors but still with the tattoo.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=517504793 Here's a better screenshot (Note: downloaded a face replacer and eye replacer mod, those arent results of the bug) I downloaded a mod that stops the face/skin from changing when going to VL and back, and that removes the color mismatch by making his entire body dark. Well, it's better than having his head be a different color I guess. But the tattoo is still there and the second I open showracemenu it adds the color mismatch again and I'm back to square one (until I go VL and back again) I hope someone is reading this.

bump, completely full reinstall later and nothing works. Some said try to use console to "setrace bretonrace" and then back to "setrace bretonracevampire" and while the regular breton race I could change skin, hair, warpaint and scars when I change back to the vampire his body stays light but his face goes very dark and back to unable to change anything but the shape. Changing any colors does nothing, changing scars, warpaint does nothing (but he at least kept the scar he already had) Changing any face tints like cheek color, lips, etc, predictably did nothing. The hair is the odd one here, because sometimes it lets me change it, but as soon as I leave the race menu it reverts to the one he had before. At other times if I try to change the hair it layers it over the top of the existing one so he has two hairstyles at once, if I accept the changes like that it doesn't change it at all, he keeps just the original hairstyle. I have seen this same or similar thread posted in several places on the web and apparently nobody has found a fix for several years since Dawnguard's release. Please look into this, devs, if you're out there.

Hi, I got the all too common 'black face' bug on my breton character when he became a vampire. When I use showracemenu to change the skin color everything except the head changes color. Also, warpaint doesn't show up at all, and every now and then he has some warpaint that appears to be something non-vanilla that I don't recall downloading, so I don't know why its there. Or why it only appears sometimes and other times its gone. It also disappears if I bring up the race menu. I will take a screenshot the next time it happens. I downloaded several mods aimed at fixing vampire skin, but the best I could do was get a light skin color (at first I had no problem with my character's skin being darker, I just changed his body's skin to match, but his face kept getting darker until it was too dark for the sliders to match it) and match it. I know vampires are *supposed* to be pale but I want his original "slightly not pale" skin back and I want to add some warpaint as well. Changing hair worked fine until very recently when changes made to his hair don't take effect until I restart the game. I haven't been able to find anyone else having this same problem. I am thinking about going through the Companions storyline and becoming a werewolf instead to cure the vampirism and see if that fixes it, I don't like to use the console to change things more than I have to. I'll edit this post with an update if that does/doesn't work, but I got all the VL perks and I'm wondering, which is why I'm hesistant to try this, if I lose vampirism and later become a vampire again, will I keep the VL perks?
