  1. This is really confusing to a total computer illiterate like me. Years ago I was able to use DAO mods no problem , Can someone direct me to a step by step instruction for a total dummy ass like me. I also get the same message.
  2. I have downloaded the DAOmodmanager but it only accepts dazip files. I want to use several mods that are not Dazip. Is there anyway around this? The ones i want to use are the no Helmet Hack, Dreamy Alistair, More Hairstyles and pineapple vibrant colors. Years ago (and two computers ago) I was able to use these but for some reason I can't get them to load Any suggestion would be very welcome
  3. I re-installed The Witcher 2 yesterday and when it asked for the activation code, I could not enter it. I pressed OK and then I had to download the "patch Downloader" Program. Unfortunately after a few seconds the message comes up that the files cant be downloaded... check your internet connection or retry. Needless to say - after multiple tries, I still cant download this program and i still can't enter my activation code. I am not sure how to fix this problem - now I am unable to play the game! Can anyone help?
  4. I loaded yet another dazip and it seemed fine. The two dazips that I am having trouble with are wings of velvet and anzolino's robe. Was able to do the Mage Item pack. For some reason even though I extract to a specific file - they automatically go to the contents file (which is NOT where I extracted to) , and are not showing that they are dazips...
  5. Somehow it has magically started to work :) But I have just downloaded two dazip files and they seem to automatically go into the Contents file. When I try to add them to the DAO modmanager, it indicates that they are not dazip files. I can create an overide, but it doesn't work in game. I have successfully installed two other dazips so I am confused.... r
  6. I can install the dazips, but the overrides are not working. When I try to install, I get a message that the manager cannot find a part of the path... any ideas on what I am doing wrong? I am creating the override package and it appears at the bottom of the mod screen but I can't install. Help!
  7. yes, I read the article and do not have any questions. I understand the two locations for files. I have deleted all that I put in the C:program/dragonage area I had put the mods there only because I assumed this was how the Origin download worked - ndidnt realize this was created for the disc game as well.... ... the other (my documents/bioware etc) having been from the retail disc All the mods are in the correct file as per your screenshot. Below are the locations of the mods that aren't working. I have followed the instructions. I http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/392 - i have the DAmodder and the mod is installed there. It is alos in my packages/core/overide folder. I do not have any mod that modifies the Character Creatorr. I do have the CharGenMorph Compiler by TerraEx.. http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/1609 - pretty straght forward.. Dont know why these two mods worked previously...
  8. I really, really appreciate your efforts to assist, but unfortunately I am not sure I am sophisticated enough to understand your advice. Are you saying that I should delete everything that i have in my C: program files/dragonage (deosnt say bioware) in the override file and work from the files "\[user's documents]\Bioware\Dragon Age\packages\core\override". If that is the case, all the mods that I downloaded for the retail disc game are there and were working previously... but not in this game!! Furthermore, interesting enough there are no screenshots from my current (Origin downloaded) game in the screenshot file. "Getting those mods to work requires understanding how to update the "CharGenMorpCfg.xml" file. Most authors provide the appropriate .xml as an additional file with their mod, but if the player is using more than one such mod then they'll need to integrate those entries into a single set. See: Using Dragon Age Mods for Dummies." Finally, the instructions that came with the two mods - more hairstyles and dreamy alistair indicate that I was to place the files in the packages/core/override folder. I do not recall making any manual changes to these files in my previous game and they both worked... so unfortunately, I remain confused... :wallbash: Again, I do appreciate your patience and assistance!
  9. So are you saying that I should create another folder under my documents (currently I have the bioware/dragonage in my documents from the retail disc) and transfer all the files from my computer that appear under program files/Dragon Age (from the Origins download) to this new folder. In addtion to this i should delete any duplicate files from the original disc folder? As an aside - all the dazips are working fine on the Origins version for whatever thats worth.. Just cant seem to get more hairstyles (an override) and the Alistair morph to work.,
  10. The Origin download... I lost my game disc so Origins kindly downloaded the game for me....
  11. No I downloaded from Origin - it went to my program files : program files/Dragonb Age When I had the disc version than yes - that is where the files were found.( user's documents[/i]]\Bioware\Dragon Age.) I still have those files in the hopes one day I wold find my disc! The mods used to work. Should I delete them?
  12. Well, that's the right name. So presuming it's a valid facemorph file, the question now is: "Where are you putting it?" packages/core/overide...
  13. The file is to modify Alistair's face... not the warden. The file is called hm_genfl_alistair.mor, Do I need to change this...
