  1. Would be kinda neath to have a large part of the game re-voiced to balance it out, get rid of the duplication issue, and in some cases the terrible acting. (chough* the lady summoning Potema *chough) For example I'm just running the Thieves Guild quest again and far to many characters you deal with are voiced by the awesome Stephen Russel. Mercer Frey -thief quest giver Cynrick - thief NPC fluff Mallus Macius - thief quest fence Erandur - thief quest translator If you ask me all this duplication basically ruins Russel's fantastic job on Mercer.
  2. From what I've noticed it seems that the Fallout4 community has moved on to use Bodyslide for prepping NIF files for import (it does both armor and statics). My guess is that, for whatever reason, Nifscope stopped support vital to Creation Engine games while Bodyslide kept updating it, otherwise people would just use Blender as a 'one stop shop' today, but elas. As a 3D artist I'll keep dreaming of the day we get a 'drag n drop' like Unity or Unreal4. Edit: So after some browsing it turns out the Nifscope app has not been updated since late 2017,neither have their plugins or anything at all really, and the forums are dead ... guess that's definitely bad news for the future. And bad news for us who ever wanted Blender 2.8 support.
  3. JoP works by removing a restriction to camera angles inside the NIF file of the armor iirc, or something like that, it does not do anything to the character so that's why the head doesn't (and should not !) be there as it would obscure the FPS camera, this is also why armors that have not been patched don't show up in first person with JoP enabled when you look down. Also Skyrim's render engine is from the pre PBR era so there aren't any real reflections heh. Blindness ? You might have been asking entirely the wrong questions if that's what you where after, I'm certain that's a screen overlay effect, and not a 3D mesh or helmet or even a camera tweak like JoP, sure you can make a helmet but you'll still need the overlay to fake the effect in first person first and the 3D mesh to link it too can be anything. Sounds like its entirely possible,I have seen near blind effects in quests (Just remembered the Thieves guild, Karliaha's arrow knocks you out) this isn't my 'territory' so I can't help you,it would probably go something like this : -grab any helmet, heck any piece that goes on a charterer will work, a pair of boots for all I care its not like engine knows the difference unless you tell it too. -get an existing effect, and tweak it to be dark and annoying to see, I absolutely hate the drunk effect so if you don't know how this stuff works, grab that to start. (or Karliahia's arrow ! but I forgot how her name is spelled pff ) -set up the boots to permanently give your PC the drunk effect, if it works you're practically done as you figured out the way. Now all you now need to do is tweak the effect to be even more annoying and link it to a helmet, then ask more experienced people how to limit this to first person because the other stuff is not my thing, and is just me tapping into my old Morrowind days of doing weird stuff with armor, but the camera swaps might be papyrus related, done. Edit: for clarification, these screen overlays and effects are stored in the magic section of CK.
  4. Not the bringer of good news but if I where you I'd start fresh, and I mean really fresh like uninstall everything, remove the DATA folder, start from absolute zero and use Mod Organizer 2 to keep your core folders clean from mods. MO2 uses an entirely different, and safe way, of putting mods into your game, this way it should be impossible for disabled mods to haunt a new game.
  5. What Jnaejnae said is spot on, when you play 'First Person' in a game, you are usually a flying disembodied camera with a pair of arms, here is an example from U4E :
  6. Getting custom meshes to work in Creation engine is torture in its most pure form. Can't say I'd recommend this engine to a beginner as the amount of weird hoops you'll have to jump trough is more than any trained circus tiger can handle.
  7. I can't seem to find any information on this, not any that fixes it at least, but my CK applies a blurry filter when I activate the Sky/climate light and I'm not able to find an option to disable this example when I keep it selected (aka mouse pressed down) its fine tho I've disabled Anisotropic and FXAA in my Nvidia driver, didn't help out. Someone also managed to fix it by running it in Win7 compatibility mode but this doesn't work for me (I'm on Win 10) Any help to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.
  8. I'd be down for that, just checked out Beyond Bruma and Project AHO, lets just say my mind was blown at the sheer quality of these DLC sized mods. Meanwhil my own progress is halted because Nifscope is being Nifscope. If the new game is like Rust I don't see a reason to get it, but if its like Skyrim Together, now THAT's something I'd love. Roaming the wasteland with a buddy sounds fun, 'Fallout the Rust edition' however, does not.
  9. I'd just like to leave some feedback, hints and tips here Do your research but watch out, your best sources are the people who have these disorders and the people that live and work with them. As someone with a few disorders myself I can vouch there is a lot of bogus information floating around. Your best most direct source these days might be reddit sience or 'ELI5' ('explain like I'm 5' ,great subreddit for questions when you want a simple but direct answer) Don't forget to make quests that DON'T exactly focus on this disorder. We are not our label, I will never use my disorders as a definition of character. A great example of this is the Leyawiin Mages guild quest for your recommendation. Dagail uses an amulet to supres visions that greatly interfere with her being able to function as a regular person. At first glance it looks like it is a 'get this, cure that' quest but no, the amulet has been stolen for malicious reasons by a guildy who did not approve of working under someone who 'needed magical trinkets to remain sane' (imagine that if today someone refused to work for a boss because he was taking anti depressives) its a little touch that made the quest much more human. I wish you the best of luck, I'd be curiously waiting for the results c:
  10. I'm trying to move over because it's more stable but so far I've been disappointed and annoyed more than relieved. Its just that after 10 or so hours LE version crashes, and continuously keeps crashing no mater what so I have little choice but to move my business over to SE . Mods that previously had indicators on screen, do not have those in SSE (frostfall, Ineed) Mods that had MCM menus, now usually don't have it MCM menu's that are broken (Especially Frostfall) Some mods installed that I can't even figure out if they are working because thers zero indication at all. (Convenient horses) Edit apparently all my issues can be tracked back because of the scrip extender 64 version being Alpha and mods simple not using it yet. CH finally kicked in working, and Frostfall can be 'fixed' by installing some Papyrus mod. Didn't go the whole 9 yards to fix up the menu's but clothes give proper cover now !
  11. (Edit ; I keep effing up quote system ffs this is a reply to Bigandflabby's image ) Orrr hold on, that box down there is very empty while mine isn't. I was using a copy of kellogg's armor to build upon https://imgur.com/eZB2Iht this is the window where it crashes if I pick my own NIF https://imgur.com/EGttzi5
  12. On exactly the tab of your screenshot, so you got further in than me with the exact same file, lol. Hmm well it doesn't have a material, still have to figure that stuff out but I figured it had textures so I thought it should suffice. I'll keep this in mind, though what you're actually doing is removing the skinning and just redoing it, so doesn't that imply you could just start again with your original OBJ ? Either way I'm gonna keep this as an option and keep tinkering on it, thank you both  !
  13. So after a year or so (probably longer) I've delved back into modding with the idea of creating custom cybernetic or prosthetic arms, but it seems that even tho we have Outfit Studio I'm still heading to a dead stop when it comes to actually getting it into the CK without it crashing and burning. Just like last time I have a new mesh with textures (lost the old one, dunno how I managed to do that tbh) https://imgur.com/p9fR1p4 Unlike last time it's at least showing up in Nifscope AND has textures, progress ! https://imgur.com/ywAtRIC But yeah, CK is crashing so that definitely means there are huge errors somewhere in the file. I would greatly appreciate any help to get this to work so I can actually start making more of these, file can be found here https://www.dropbox.com/s/pmtnqin07q17qtm/KParmorTest_01.nif?dl=0 The only tutorial I found that didn't bother with older versions of Blender or rigging/skinning in 3D apps while doing the autodesk import/export tango, wasn't even really a tutorial but a loose guide https://www.reddit.com/r/FalloutMods/comments/5ilziv/fo4_any_easy_way_to_rig_a_custom_armor_mod/
  14. Dead link btw. You using Max or Blender ? If you're using Blender you might chek this out https://www.reddit.com/r/FalloutMods/comments/5ilziv/fo4_any_easy_way_to_rig_a_custom_armor_mod/ It's not something invented 'in' the engine, the engine just reacts to the info it has ... or sometime it fails and creates hilarious looking glitches. They are morph targets, but you'll probably get much more information by googeling 'morphs and blend shapes' then I'll ever be able to write, as I'm not a technical artist, lol. I'll just call this 'my educated guess' from my own experience with morphs or blend shapes but I'm not a programer, and I'm not familiar with what happens under the hood of Creation Engine but I just expect it to be exactly the same as regular 3D apps. You weighted the armor mesh to the body, the body has the information of various morphs already so the vertex of your armor will try to stay at a consistent placement linked to the nearest body vertex. And I'll put some emphasis on 'try' because I'm quite certain there will be mistakes if you only just copy the weights, so at points you will be going in, put that body slider on whatever is messing up and fixing said vertex placement by hand.
  15. Can't personally help you as the last time I tried was well over a year ago, but have you looked at these https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UYRag3h23o
