  1. 1. Personally I use robes, but have light armor gloves and boots, sometimes helmet as well. 2. Which spells are you using? I pretty much stuck with flame, then frost to take down the flame resisting creatures. My most used spell though is Fireball, it has a blast radius so that means AOE(area of effect) damage, and with the perks for fire it does 60 damage, but I dual cast them which just says "it gives a stronger effect." 3. I focused on 2, just using one can be bad at times. Say you chose fire, well what happens when you fight a flame atronach? Same with lightning and frost. Thats why I think its best to use 2, working on all 3 I think the perk points could be used elsewhere. Like I said, I stuck to fire and frost, fire does more damage and frost hurts the stamina of those you fight. Shock I just never liked it though it does magicka damage, but when your a mage you typically have some sort of resistance to other magic so using stamina damage with frost helps with those melee fights. 4. Fireball is what I use it gets the job done and in a hurry. Have not explored for a more powerful spell. On normal gameplay difficulty guards are pushovers as well as anything else, your hardest fights will be dragons that use fire, frost dragons are also pushovers. Giants and mammoths would be your 2nd hardest opponents. 5. From what I notice you basically level a skill by using it. When that skill levels you get exp toward your characters level. Skills being destruction, conjuration, alchemy, one handed, two handed, etc... 6. This really depends, at first I focused on magicka, as I found my fireball tome early and it uses a good deal of magicka. Also I play a high elf as my magic caster, they get an extra 50 magicka. Notes about my character: I use the ring mod so I do have more then one ring, though I keep it realistic in the amount I wear. For my gear other then jewlery, I use Arch-Mage robes with Morokei mask, my gloves and boots use to be Elven armor, now I use what I got from the Dark Brotherhood. With the extra rings yes it makes it easier, but the rings do not affect my damage output. I also use the Blessing of Arkay which adds 25 health. Currently using the Mage stone but I would like to use the Atronach stone or the Lord stone. I am currently level 23 and I played 100% legit no ring mod from 1-18, not many problems at all. I did have a few close calls while doing quest to obtain the robes and mask but after that nothing comes close. I just recommend keeping potions till you know your going to be ok, I hardly ever use them now. Though I sometimes will fight with restoration in one hand and destruction or sword in the other, battle mage ftw?
  2. I like that whole list especially the headbutt and roundhouse kick, totally could make a Chuck Norris character for that. Now back to the OP, I would like any extra finishing move mods really such as finishers you see in movies, or shows like Spartacus. I want some violent stuff though like for the 1handed axe, have like a halfway decapitation where the head is slightly still attached. A nice stab to the face would be cool too. Also some more assassination moves.
  3. I use to be able to jump and swing swords at dragons, but then I took an arrow to the knee. Anyway, I think this would be a great mod to have. You could be more ninja like :ninja: jump up shoot your arrow and fall back behind whatever it was your hiding behind. Plus the jumping attacks make it seem more realistic I think. Though people typically do not hop around like rabbits swinging swords, the fact is you could if you wanted to.
  4. Any idea what is causing this texture issue? I had it once before though it was worse, shadowmere was like the banners picture, and was see through. I managed to fix the issue just playing around with my settings in the CCC. The textures will flicker back and forth while moving around. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t267/Busted11290/TESV2011-12-0807-20-08-22.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t267/Busted11290/TESV2011-12-0807-20-05-57.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t267/Busted11290/TESV2011-12-0807-18-30-01.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t267/Busted11290/TESV2011-12-0807-18-24-95.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t267/Busted11290/TESV2011-12-0807-18-16-62.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t267/Busted11290/TESV2011-12-0807-18-13-05.jpg
  5. I have a dual core, but with the current post about it dropping FPS I feel like :psyduck: I will backup my stuff and update it we shall see if it helps or breaks. EDIT: Well I use 1.1, I just have a lot of HQ texture mods. The game will crash on me without using the 4gb mod. So, my first test was FPS on the normal .exe not a single difference in FPS in 1.1 vs 1.3 both crashed the game. I then took my skyrim launcher and tesv.exe from 1.1 that I backed up and overwrote the new ones. I then ran it again and noticed about a 1-6fps gain, and it still crashed. I then ran this same setup with the 4gb and I noticed about a 1-10fps gain, didn't crash either. The 4gb would not run with the 1.3 tesv.exe and launcher. Not sure what if any help this info provides but there ya go  P.S. I used the 4gb with just 1.1 and now with the 1.3 files after getting the .exe back to the 1.1 version, there is a slight gain in FPS. Also with the 1.3 stuff the looking around doesn't seem as choppy. As for the other issues not sure yet.
  6. I started with Morrowind, but honestly I liked Oblivion more. Might be cause I did not do my quest on Morrowind, just ran around killing everyone and everything. But, Morrowind is what really got me into TES so for that I thank it. And like others have said I would like to see some features from the older TES games put into Skyrim.
  7. Basically yes, but you need to know the entire directory of the file system for the textures to work. Like my dragon mod you need Data > textures > actors > dragon > then the .dds texture files themselves. Most of the mods you download from nexus will be in the data folder already. So you just extract that or drag/drop that to your Skyrim directory (where the TESV.exe is) It should ask to merge the Data files, click yes and done, only time you will get something else popup is if you try to overwrite texture files, i.e. using 2 mods for the same files.
  8. Well I being just about every time I leave the dark brotherhood sanctuary near Dawnstar something seems to be waiting. I have had multiple dragons attack, saber cats, wolves, bandits, etc... And about 95% of the time I run into a dragon when I step out from the sanctuary. I think this has to be my most plagued town in the game they are always fighting something. I would have to say the most I have fought at once there is 2 dragons, a mammoth, handful of bandits and 2 saber cats. Is this normal? lol and I don't use console command of this character. So what is your most plagued town and what happens there?
  9. If that's who I think it is, she was the first person I murdered after leaving Helgen. She used to be a Hagraven like you, then she took an arrow to the knee.
  10. I can not seem to get the center of the coin, the black parts, to become transparent  I have played with the alpha over and over :ohdear: Anyway the coin says on it, Fah Nust Prodah Vokul, Draal Faal Dovahkiin Zindro. Which is the dragon language meaning, For they foretold evil, pray the dragonborn triumphs. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t267/Busted11290/TESV2011-11-2521-45-28-04.jpg
  11. I save mine as palette ARGB 8 bpp | 256 colors + alpha so far no issues.
  12. Thanks for that info, I just need to go talk to that chick that took the horn now I can see my new skin on the dragon. Preview of the first dragon attached, any feedback welcomed  EDIT: http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t267/Busted11290/th_TESV2011-11-2500-19-15-27.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t267/Busted11290/th_TESV2011-11-2500-15-49-96.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t267/Busted11290/th_TESV2011-11-2500-13-53-59.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t267/Busted11290/th_TESV2011-11-2421-54-24-80.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t267/Busted11290/th_TESV2011-11-2421-49-47-34.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t267/Busted11290/th_TESV2011-11-2421-49-38-00.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t267/Busted11290/th_TESV2011-11-2421-49-26-71.jpg
  13. Well, I seen some screen shots of it and they are nice and all but it got me started on doing my own "colorful" dragons. The ones I seen are just to bright for me and in the comments it seems others agree. Now I have one completed mostly I just need to find a dragon so I can see how it looks before I move on to the rest. I can't seem to find a dragon to save my life I have been wondering around for over an hour slaughtering everything that gets in my way as I search out the land for one :pinch: . Anyone have a save file that is at a dragon already? Or know how to fix nifskope to load these .nifs for skyrim and use the textures?
  14. I have read in other post that the game seems to load slower and even preform slower after you have saved a lot.
  15. Alas, I also enjoyed my head-less-ness and continued play for a long time afterwords, so loading so far back would be in-advisable. Going to try transforming to a werewolf and back to see if that change to the character forces an update, once I find a way to contract werewolf-ism. Anyone has any other ideas, or knows any console commands that may force an update to my character, would be grateful. Especially one that forces a werewolf transformation. Just a few quest into the Companions at Whiterun you should get your warewolf power. Also this reminds me have you actually seen the headless horseman of Skyrim? I have seen him once.
