I agree, we need the ability to print the load order due to the fact that the plugin list in Vortex is enough to make you crazy. It may look cool, but not very usable. The greatest thing about printing your load order is being able to see it in one concise and lucid print out that is very useful for planning especially if you are at max plugin number. also, see if someone could fix Vortex inability to figure out that yes I really have updated to the latest Fnis mod and stop that very annoying message concerning Fnis being too old. Just started using Vortex and seriously considering putting it back in the bottle.

I think Dark0ne should call it anything he wants, he's paying the bills. What i wish is that they are building in a way for those of us saddled with a slow internet connection (3.2 mbs) to bypass the requirement to let the manager download all our mods. I use 348 mods in my game (counting texture mods)) and from what I can determine, that would take about 2 days to get everything downloaded. So far I am stuck with version 56.1, not because I am in love with that version but because I have to. Hope the team is listening.

Anyone tried SKYRIM PERFORMANCE BOOSTER by Jenna Watson?
Roguespear replied to Grogthenailer's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Is this mod compatible with ENboost ? -
In response to post #28942849. #28976944, #28978454 are all replies on the same post. Does it matter that it Skyrim wasn't even released yet?

In response to post #28911349. #28911939, #28913369, #28915494 are all replies on the same post. I tried it and it did not suit my game setup, but thanks anyway. As for reinstalling my modified mods, (which is almost all) my question is WHY, software is supposed to solve problems not create more. Here's hoping someone in charge is really listening, I can't believe that someone else is not having similar issues. I realize NMM is free but am hoping they get it fixed, someone mentioned a choice allowing the user to turn off profiling and not uninstall all our mods, what a GREAT idea!!!!!

I have commented here before but now I have a question, are you going to support pre .60 versions of NMM? I have spent 500 plus hours unpacking all the bsa files into loose file variants and using Gimp and Photoshop, I recolored and modified where possible all my texture files. I did the recolors because I wanted the look of an enb without the inherent overhead an enb can bring to the game. I have 247 active plugins and 76 script and texture mods, but with my loose file setup in Skyrim, It seems that using anything above 56.1 would render all my work moot. Yes I can restore my game from my backups but all the texture work would be trashed. Does anything in .60+ allow me to retain my recolors? If not then unless I am mistaken, 56.1 is it for me. Also how about those of us using merged mods, what then? I am trying not to be too critical, but NMM seems to have gone the way of Windows 10. They have something they regard as the coolest thing ever but now appear to be working over time to restore a host of conveniences back into the OS they removed for what ever reason. It would be nice, if before a well regarded and much used piece of software was modified so extensively, the end user was asked what would enrich their experience with it, possibly in the form of a survey or series of surveys as to what they would like to see. I realize that 40,000 users tested the new changes, but having been a beta tester for Windows 95 as well as using all the preview versions since then, I can tell you it takes a certain type of individual to take on this task. The dedicated users that tested the new NMM are probably a very small percentage of the user base on the nexus, and though the included changes to NMM seemed to be stable, the question no one seems to be asking is "what is behind all of the negative chatter" . Why not ask the entire user base if they actually want the changes. Lets put it in a simpler form, I would really like Ferrari , but how would it work in my daily commute to work?

I have noticed a recurring trend with all the chatter both encouraging and vitriolic. As you all know, Windows 10 is out and experiencing some of the very same difficulties, by updating to the new OS using that old gremlin autoupdate. I have installed Windows 10 some 20 times and have been witness to total loss of all of a users data. Windows 10, as Well as the NMM update, carries the exact same caveat: When going from an old version to a new version of ANY SOFTWARE without BACKING UP YOUR STUFF is like sticking your hand into the fire and expecting not to get burned, completely mental. As far as NMM is concerned and Skyrim in particular, Make a new folder, preferably on a different drive and copy the following folders (that's copy not move) common, NMM, and My Games. You do not need to copy the steam folder. This will allow you to put everything back to where it was, hampered only by the speed of your drive. I adopted this regimen after the very first Steam update bricked my game. I also think that Dark0ne should make sure a prominent Warning is displayed with a check box to be ticked, before NMM continues with the install process. Something along the lines of: "WARNING" BE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR GAME BEFORE UPDATING check the box if you have read and understand. Do I think this will make much of a difference, no, it seems that many people tend to click first and engage brain second. If you think the vitriolic comments are reserved for NMM just go the Windows 10 forums. Still love the work by the meager NMM crew.

First, I think that a totally software solution to setting up a game is a nice idea, but the nexus team overlooked on or two things, Mod authors for starters, the small alert triangles telling me there is an update for various mods are sometimes bogus. I have 12 of these triangles that I can not get rid of because the mod author has either hidden the mod I am using (visible only to the nexus software but not to normal users) and the authors not updating the xml file telling NMM that it is in fact the new version. Leaving me with 5 of 0ne type and 6 of the other, and no matter how many times I download the "new version" NMM still tells me the file is not updated. What might this have to do with .60's problems you ask? the answer is , I am not sure, what I an sure of is that automated software systems of a type NMM seems to be striving to be, simply have no AI. The software can't tell if the mod is properly set up by the author and it seems to me that this could cause a problem when NMM try's to identify what mod to download and install. Secondly, as a user who lives at 7200 feet in elevation virtually in the woods, I live with slow internet. Where we live our best speed is 3.2 megabits and that is on a good day. I am not sure if that is a problem, but it impacts other software systems I occasionally need to access. The other caveat is that users in the US find themselves living in a country that is 27th in the world for internet speed and reliability, I do not know if this could be an issue but just saying, who knows. I have been playing Skyrim since it was available for preorder, and NMM just as long, I don't download the new NMM till it has gone at least a week without an update, and I never use the auto update feature when NMM starts, That way I have the old version on my computer if the new one blows up. Having said all this I still would not use any thing else to maintain my game, keep up the good work.

The Steam coupon almost made me skip this survey, I have a Steam account for one reason and one reason only, it was required by Skyrim. Since then Steam has become more and more user unfriendly and after 15 e-mails with support question that went unanswered, Steam for me has fallen into the FOBAR category for me. As for Nexus, it is the shinning star of game sites in my opinion.

It is all well and good to think about mods making money for the authors, but anyone who has downloaded a mod with a glowing description and found later it was not ready for prime time. What warranty will there be for the gamer who has paid good money for a mod that, as it turns out, is totally FOBAR? Riddle me that:(

Crash to Desktop on new game, using mods.
Roguespear replied to KingLupusMortem's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
first, put the save into documents\my documents\Skyrim\saves (if your using Windows 7) and do not select new game, that is exactly what it means NEW GAME, instead select load and pick your Stormcloak save. -
Nexus Mod Manager doesn't completely open
Roguespear replied to xWildxManx's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
what version are you using, Robin has set it up so that only the newest versions get on the server, at least that is what I have been told, back when it was in the version 45 to 49 it would not work and overloaded the server. -
You may need to start over, when you get to Riverwood, go see the store keeper and get the golden claw quest, do it and when you return to Riverwood and collect your reward either before you do this or just afterwards an orc will ask if you want to kill Vampires, say yes, then a guard either in Riverwood or Whiterun will give you some gossip about the dawnguard and it wil be in your journal. if that fails do the following, in the console type player.setstage DLC1vQ01MiscObjective 10 this will but Dawnguard in your journal.

I have used IE since it first came out and have not had any of those problems. My experience with Chrome is, if you have a laptop it will drain your battery (google has known about this for over 3 years and lately said they might get around to fixing it one of these days) and it messes with your security settings, I call it rusted Chrome. I have noticed that Nexus has little glitches and once in a while you have to refresh the page before pasting. What version of windows are you using may I ask.

A Hardware Solution to Save Bloat
Roguespear replied to TheknightofRand's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
It has been said that using quick save can foster broken scripts in your saves I don't use quick save so can't verify. I have over time installed ssd's in all my computers and it does make a difference I have 2 in each computer. skse.ini change was good tip by the previous poster. Checking other players load order for mods that could cause save bloat is a start, If you have any of those just deactivate the ones your unsure of and see what happens, although I do not know if a bloated save scenario will show any evidence of slowing down, may need fresh game to gauge the effectiveness. Play up to 50 saves with current load order and make changes to your load order and try again. Trouble shooting is sometimes a slow process.
