So I've completed the main story and downloaded FWE and a couple of other mods and am going to start a heavy roleplaying game as a wandering explorer/adventurer type and not going to go anywhere near the main storyline at all. So, I have the 5 expansions, what I want to know is... is the Wasteland full of adventure and fun OUTSIDE of the main storyline, or is it as dead as it looks? Blowing raider heads off in abandoned schools and looking at tortured/mutilated corpses on mattresses in cellars is fun, but it needs to be broken up by quests and other interaction with friendly or at least neutral people at times.

My knowledge of PC troubleshooting is crude, but effective enough that I can fix stuff that isn't working. With that, I can explain how it's possible. PC's are just weird. That's how. I've had that very same problem with other games. In Crysis, I had crashes so frequent with all medium graphic settings that the game was basically unplayable for me. When I turned everything up to max settings it never, ever crashed again, and there was no drop in performance whatsoever, yet on low settings I could never get more than about 7 FPS. When that game came out my PC was already 3 years old, yet I knew people who had PC's they had just recently purchased with all the latest cutting edge gaming technology inside them, and they just couldn't play it on all max settings without serious performance issues. As I said, PC's are just weird.

The DLC's are already in the data folder, STEAM loads the game on to your computer that way.

Before I start, I've googled, and googled, and googled... I've followed the instructions to a tee... I have the 1.7 patch, I have the latest version of FOSE, I did everything right. I extracted the files into steam>steamapps>FO3 GOTY (not in to the data folder, as per the intructions), and when trying to launch the game with the FOSE icon, it crashes INSTANTLY. I don't even get as far as the menu where the option to play the game is given. I click it, and "Fallout3 has encountered a problem and needs to close". I'm on Windows XP, I don't have GFWL, and I bought the GOTY edition through STEAM, and so obviously everything goes through that. Please help, I'm running out of hair to pull out in clumps. >:( Oh and also, I'm not using the German no gore version of the game, it's the English version. A lot of times when I have come across a thread on my google searches the problem has been because the guy with the problem has the German no gore version. Not the case here. Just thought I'd mentioned.

I have seen a mod for every single thing you mentioned there. I've only been playing the game for a week and spent about an hour today looking through all the mods at http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/categories.php. Click on the division you think your desired mod would be in on that page I linked, and in the sort box up at the top click on "downloads" in the first drop down box and "descending" in the second drop down box, so that the most popular mod with the most downloads is listed at the top of page one, followed by the mod with the second most downloads, followed by third most downloads, and so on and so fourth. All the mods you say you want will be in the first few pages of each category there as they are all popular, I'm not exaggerating, I saw a mod for every single thing you want. Hope that helps. I also wanted more weapons, so I downloaded 19th and 20th century weapons pack, which is the most popular mod in the "Weapons" category, and it's good, but the problem I have with it is that the weapon textures all look like they're in pristine condition, just came out of a factory, never even been taken out of the box. For me this just doesn't fit in with the game. The whole world is wrecked and everything around you is an improvised piece of crap made from pieces of crap that people found laying around after a nuclear holocaust, yet everybody is running around with shiny, perfect weapons that don't even have a scratch on them. It doesn't work for me. The mod is great in that it adds so many new weapons, must be at least 150 new guns, from pistols to rifles to machine guns to grenade launchers and everything inbetween, but they're too clean and shiny looking.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but it is my first time posting, I only registered 10 minutes ago. I've used the search function on this website and I've used google too but it has turned up nothing. I'm looking for a mod to reduce the amount of ammo, stimpaks and other assorted medicines and drugs you get from corpses and containers. I've been playing FO3 for a week now and it's great but I started modding it today because there are a lot of things I am not happy with. For a start, after getting out of Vault 101 and doing only 3 quests for the residents of Megaton and exploring Springvale school, I have 60 stimpaks, over 400 bullets for the pistol, enough bottles of various pills to satisfy the drug habits of all the junkies in the game for a month, and a stockpile of ammo for every other gun in the game, like 300 assault rifle bullets for example, 80 shotgun shells, and I haven't even yet seen either of these guns. I know playing on hard would solve this but I don't want to, I don't want the AI to cheat to solve this problem so I was wondering if a mod had been created for it? I know there are complete overhauls with this built in, but I don't want one of those either, just a standalone. Thanks in advance.
