although you dont have it currently installed, did you ever have enb installed, because although it might not be the only reason, it is one possible cause. but i heard a fix is to go into your skyrim folder and delete the d3d9.dll file hope this helps :) -
don't know if it would work or not, but perhaps messing with the behaviour files of the actors might help :S

what fg109 posted is completely right, and its the method i use. I also believe its the only way, or at least the best, as it is the mothod used in the bethesda scripts

it really depends on what you want to mo; making your own dungeons, houses, etc? making quests? making new characters/models? scripting your own events and such? all of these require different skills and different programs, some just the creation kit, some need notepad softwares (notepad ++ i recommend), and others need 3d modelling programs, the list really goes on. if you can say what you would like to start off with i would be happy to point out a few tutorials to you :D

although i don't agree that there sould be glasses in skyrim, as there doesn't seem to be much of a way to fit it into the lore, goggles sounds like a good idea as people might use them for the snow and such

thanks for reply, i think i get it now, still might need a tutorial though :D and also, i tried just following your tutorial for a new animation, but had some troubles, so i then decided to load your plugin, and when i load the plugin it comes up with a warning which says ANIMATION:Could not find root behaviour for project actors\character\release/bethseda.hkx. is this set up properly? i clicked yes to all to disbla all warnings and found the npc 'bethseda', loaded it, but when i looked under the animations tab i couldnt find the animation called beth, its just not there if i go to the gameplay tab at the top, then click on animations, i can find the animation thing there though. could you please help me with this, i would greatly aprreciate it :)

Hey, I've read through your what you've written, and it sounds mighty good. I have some scripting experience, not too much in quests, though I can easily learn. I wouldn't mind giving you a hand with anything to do with scripting (could also help with quest scripting if need be). If you want to take a look at a bit of my work, just search 'Shifts of Power' on Skyrim Workshop. I'm also making another mod at the moment which allows you to exchange perks between each other, so once again, if you need help with some scripting, I'm happy to help.

hey so this has been exactly what i had been looking for in the past few days, and i am really impressed that you have got it working! but in relation to creating new animations for things; do i need to create a new skeleton for an actor to give it a new animation as an example, lets say i wanted to add a new animation to a giant, is there no way i can use the skeleton that comes from the skyrim - animation bsa file, even if i convert it to xml standard hkx? I think you may have already answered this, but it didnt seem very clear wether you were talking about adding a completely new actor, or using one from bethesda Thanks :)

Hey guys Back in New Vegas I loved to play on Hardcore mode and found it would create a much better challenge than just 'upping' the difficulty of enemies and such. I believe it would be a great mod to be added into Skyrim and having read through some of the suggestions to what it would involve, I wouldn't mind trying to tackle this head on. I am, however, currently working on another mod (check out http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11553) and am not exactly the greatest and most well known of modders :D, but I would love to try and get into this mod perhaps with another few modders and collaborate to create this mod. I am quite experienced in scripting and perhaps if some others are willing to help and had other skills, we could all work together to create a 'Hardcore' mode for Skyrim :) If anyone is interested (hopefully) you could send me a message or maybe just reply on this. Thanks!

Hey everyone! I'm kinda new to the forums but I have really gotten into modding Skyrim. I have created my first mod called "Shifts of Power", and if you want to check it out here are is the link http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11553 But the main reason for my post is to promote my WIP mod which also involves Shifts of Power and adds a story to it. I always wondered why Otar the dragon priest had perished and what he had done, so I decided I would make my own story for him! The mod will also allow to to trade perks (my way of compensating for the lack of being able to add perk points) and also exchange stats for each other, such as health for magicka (this is what Shifts of Power allows) to make for a more dynamic experience late game. The story will involve Otar being the one that created these stones of power. He was killed by the other dragon priests though when he became too powerful and kept persisting in becoming pure arcane energy, and this is where you come in, after you discover the dunegon to the Stones which was locked away for hundreds of years. So far that's the basis of the story, and I have currently done 3000 lines of script just for the dynamic components of the game and am not even half done with them. I am also going to learn 3DS max basics to create my own models. So if you have any ideas for the story or tips and tricks that you wish to share, please do :) Thanks!
