Do you install the hair mods for the correct race/gender? What exactly are you doing? This is character creation and not in BE?

Remember that you need all the files that comes with DAI tools suite to be in the same folder. So i'd just create a folder "DAI tools suite" and re-download the suite from the link i provided earlier and unzip the contents in your newly created folder.

It can be because you don't have DAI tools files in a separate folder. You have them in Documents, but you have to unzip DAI tools suite in its own folder. Try that first and see if it still happens. I was getting this error too when i didnt have DAI tools suite in its own folder.

I made some photos. Everything in the color red is added by me. 1. Click Mod Manager v.1.0 from the list so it gets marked like in the picture. 2. Click Launch (if you do not have it installed click Download first and then click Launch when it's finished downloading). http://i.imgur.com/PXJgWnW.png After clicking launch, the Mod Manager window appears. Note that if you haven't opened it before, the first thing you'll get is a prompt to locate your Dragon Age Inquisition.exe file. Just browse to it and click open, then this window will appear. 1. Click Browse next to the blank Mod Path, like shown in the picture. Find your DAI mods folder and click open. You'll be returned to this window again with mods showing up in the list as shown below. 2. Click merge. http://i.imgur.com/imKU8OM.png

Take screenshots of your process and i'll see if you're doing anything wrong.

You probably have the wrong version. Here's the latest version: http://daitools.freeforums.org/latest-version-announcement-t1060.html You have to have DAI tools suite, as it's the only way to get the latest version of ModManager. When you have it downloaded, unzip it in its own folder and click the executable to start it. It should look like this: http://snag.gy/VPbvN.jpg

I agree, but BioWare nor its developers are to blame on this one. Frostbite was pretty much forced upon them (from what i've understood) and it's mainly a FPS engine but have also been used for racing or strategy games, and thus comes with restrictions for RPGs. I think DAI is actually the first RPG game that's been built and released on Frostbite. I hope they have made changes to the engine in development of MEA so we don't meet the same issues with modding there as we do with DAI though.

Add away! :) You have DAI tools suite? 1. Create a folder named "My DAI mods" or something like that, anywhere you like. I have this folder in /User/Documents/. This is the folder where you place all your wanted mods, so it's the only folder you have to worry about. 2. Download the mods you want and place (unzip) them in this folder. 3. Use DAI tools suite to launch ModManager: Open DAI tools suite.Click "ModManager" and click the Launch button to the right (or download, if you haven't downloaded ModManager yet).4. The first time you open ModManager it asks you to find the path to your DragonAgeInquisition.exe file. If you have installed Origin on the default drive this will normally be in C:/Program files (x86)/Origin Games/Dragon Age Inquisition/. Mark the Dragon Age Inquisition executable file and click the "Open" button. 5. Now you're in the ModManager window. At the top there is an empty file path saying "Mod Path:". Click "Browse" next to it and locate your "My DAI mods" folder, then press enter when you have your folder marked. 6. Now it should load all the mods you have in your folder, and they'll appear in a list. Note that "Official Patch" will always be present in this list, as it's your game's patch file. All you have to do now is click the "Merge"-button to the bottom-right and it will merge all your mods. If you have mods that override the same asset, you'll see a warning in the merge-window. If not, it'll merge just fine and when it's done you can click "close". 7. Run your game and enjoy your mods. Just ask if anything is unclear. :)

Error when trying to merge mods
kadust replied to anmolsinghmzn2009's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Troubleshooting
I'm not using any other fabric mod. It did merge fine on its own though, so i'm re-enabling the other mods one by one to see what mods it crashes with. I do not have any of the same mods as the thread starter though, so he'll have to do the same thing. Okey, weird thing happened. When i enabled 1 and 1 mod, nothing crashed. When i added Opulent Tints to my mods yesterday i got the same error as the thread starter. For TS: Try to merge Opulent Tints on it's own first, then enable all other mods you have and see if it works again? -
It is considered, the problem is just that the game won't accept new data at all, which is why all mods are made by changing/editing the existing assets (and we can only change the looks, we can't add or remove poly's etc either). Believe me, hair modding would be a ton easier if this was solved, but the game engine just doesnt make it possible as of now.

Error when trying to merge mods
kadust replied to anmolsinghmzn2009's topic in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Troubleshooting
Well, ModManager works fine for me, never experienced issues with it even though i too run on another drive than the D: drive. I tested the TMMOpulentTint mod, and it's crashing here too so it's actually the mod and not the ModManager. I'd just leave it out for now and notify the modder (hey tirnoney *waves*) that it's faulty. -
What exactly don't you understand? I can guide you through it, so you don't have to make anyone else merge files for you everytime you want to try out a new mod. :)
