In response to post #76636383. I am confused by your comment. Where in this news post do you see anything about paying again?

Well this certainly might explain the Trojan I had infect my system. Thankfully, I caught it as I constantly run virus scans over and above the general quick scan that it does. I did change my login and password, so hopefully no more lurkers..

Blog Piece: We're getting an office, and we're hiring
PCGirl replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
You have done so much with Nexus already, working on a shoestring budget and sheer determination. Imagine what you can do with the future in your new office space. Good Luck Robin and all your hard working employees. Cheers, -
It looks great guys. Obviously a lot of work and thought has gone into this project. It will be easier to give a more accurate critic once I have tried it all out. Cheers,

Thank you so much for this information, Dark0ne. This is an issue I was completely unaware of as I do not own a gaming console, nor am I likely to own one in the future. I have nothing against console systems, but prefer to play my games via PC. It is that simple really, and as such I have modded only for PC and will continue to mod for PC games. I can agree that console users should have access to the mods originally created for the PC, but they should be doing so legally. If a mod is not going to be converted to console use by the original author, then it is simply a case of do without it, or get permission to use it. I know that I personally have spent many long nights learning and creating my mods, and I do not usually have global permissions on my mods as some things that I use in them, are specifically created for me by friends, and the permission process would be insane. This is another example of why permissions are so important as in some cases it is not merely the mod author's work you are stealing, but someone elses as well. As an aside, you are doing a fantastic job with Nexus, and I am proud to say I have been a member for many years now. I will continue supporting this site as it is one of the few sites that look after its members, and protects us and our work at all costs. The community itself is one of the best groups of people that I have personally come across on a gaming site over the course of 30 plus years of gaming. GREAT JOB! I will certainly never use a site that does not monitor the activity of its members or allows others to steal work without so much as a by your leave. Bethesda may be claiming to be the source for all mods relating to their games, but until they have a better system in place that protects their gamers, I will not post my mods there.

Thank you Dark0ne. I love that someone is taking the time to preserve these games. I recently ran into a very similar scenario trying to find old files for a game that I played many years ago, and found that the main site no longer existed. Thankfully, I had a lot of the files backed up on CD, but alas not all. It is a shame that these old games are ultimately delegated to the graveyard, so to speak....great job as always. I do return to play some of the oldies from time to time, and in my mind only get better to play as our computer systems improve. Cheers,

It looks good so far, but is the new site design the cause of the insanely slow page loading and downloading issues right now???? Very frustrated with this issue over the last few days......getting downloads speeds of a mere 10kb a sec with a max of 60kb!!!
-
Precisely why this site is so awesome........and will remain so! Cheers

Welcome Dave and good luck.

First off, let me thank Dark One for his patience and perseverance. How you can manage to read through all of these comments is beyond me? YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB! I am sorry you are getting so much grief over this, and that once again people are not reading the instructions as they should be. @ Vyxenne While I agree with some of your comments, I disagree with the references you have made to the site news. There are actually two icons for it, quite visible as soon as you open the main page of Nexus. There is a world globe at the top of the page beside your name, and also an icon in the row of icons listing file news, latest news, etc. It is the very first icon in the row marked with a big exclamation point!!!!! I have been a long time user of this site, and while I don't spend my entire day on it, I do find that a simple few minutes and you can find most things you are looking for. There are also moderators listed to help you out if you get stuck, not to mention that most of the users on site are quite helpful as well. You simply have to ask? As with any new mod or tool released there are going to be bugs. I don't care how well it is tested there will always be some glich that is unexpected. No two computers are identical and people have various different set ups and mods installed. @lexx005 Wonderful idea, if more people would realize that as intelligent as machines can be they are still fallible. I have always done a manual load order no matter the version of the NMM as I have over 250 mods installed and a number of them are dependent on load order, i.e. Multiple Adoption Mod for one, which requires any house mod using adoptions to be installed before it. So in general my comment is this, again: Take your bloody time in what you are doing and read the instructions. Never take a mod or tool at face value no matter how long it has been established. This has always been a sore point for a lot of modders, in general, as people will scan through mods, see something they like and, "oooooh I'll install that one" without taking into consideration what it is going to do to your game. The instructions are there for a reason, not just to look pretty on the cover page. Any upgrade to a mod or tool, no matter how long it has been out, will have proper instructions, especially if something has changed. My two cents for what is worth......... Cheers,

Glad to know it wasn't just me having this issue, quite frankly. I thought it was my WiFi, which is toast, but ultimately it was not the cause. My download speeds are mostly back up to normal rates again. Thank you Dark0ne for fixing whatever was going on. Cheers,

In response to post #26395349. #26400199, #26402104 are all replies on the same post. Well, I thought it was my WiFi causing the issues, but it turns out that it is not entirely responsible for the slow download speeds. Downloads today are back to minimal 25kbs on any of the sites again, whether it is Cdn or Dallas. Really any of the premium sites are slowed right down again. Even page loading is extremely slow between mods. Sorry Dark0ne, I thought I had resolved the issue, but I have not.

In response to post #26395349. #26400199 is also a reply to the same post. Hi Dark0ne, I generally use Dallas, but when it is slow I switch around. Dallas usually gives me the fastest speeds, at one point as high as 920kbs. Rare, but still. Hmmm. Think I just resolved the problem. It turns out my WiFi was cooked. I tested the difference plugged directly into the internet without the WiFi and the download speeds from the Cdn sites were as high as 1000kb plus. Awesome.... Once I took the WiFi out of the equation, it was like night and day. Guess I need to get a new one. Thanks for inquiring Dark0ne and sorry for all the confusion. It just decided to start acting up at the same time the site was having some slow down issues. Typical.

Is it just me or have the download speeds been stupidly slow lately??? I am only getting an average of less than 100kb with all downloads........insane! This has been going on for sometime now, and I have to wonder what in the world is going on. Usually I get an average of about 500kb a far cry from what the download rates have been for the last two weeks. Is there an issue with NMM that is causing such slow download rates, or is the problem with the site itself?

In response to post #26207244. #26207804, #26213724, #26224359, #26280049, #26308914 are all replies on the same post. WOW, what mods have you been following. I see tons of new mods being posted, several good ones on the hot list too. This game has been out for several years now, you cannot expect the same volume of mods now as when it first came out. Also, this game is not suitable for children hence the mature rating on it. If there are mods that you find offensive, don't use them, there are plenty of others, you just have to look for them. The CK definitely has it's issues, but I have not experienced any major issues with it. Most of us are grateful for the modders that keep their mods up to date instead of just abandoning them once they are published. My two cents for what is worth Cheers
