  1. I loved the FO3 mod which made some caravans appears in towns, which offered travel services to other settlements for caps. Can the same be done in NV?
  2. There are a couple of Better AI Mods floating around. I use them both since they don't conflict, but I hear some people preferring to use only one. Check out their comments sections, see what people think about them. Anyway, search for: -MCV -Enemy AI
  3. Got it. Thanks people! And sorry for the obviously noobish questions! ...but I have some more. Is it possible to create game settings of your own via scripts? For example, gun jams based on skill level (instead of just weapon condition).
  4. Got it, thanks. Anyway, 2 more specific questions: 1. Is it possible to add "Game Settings" yourself? I right-clicked that window, and the "new" option was greyed out. 2. What are scripts for? If I have NVSE, can I make them myself? Is there a wiki that describes in further details about scripts?
  5. Also, how many Master files do I need to mark when editing an ESP? NV, Dead Money, or both? Because I only marked NV when editing before.. ALSO: What are scripts mostly used for?
  6. Heh, yeah- already found out about the first part. Now I need help with the "New gameplay settings" part, see the edited post. I found out how to understand their meaning and how they effect the game, but how can I add a new one of my own? EDIT: Nevermind, I just made a stupid mistake.
  7. After lots of searching, I still can't find what I'm looking for... Can someone point me at a tutorial for editing PLAYER CHARACTER stats and ESMs? I'd like to try tweaking the game myself. Also, a site that describes all the different values would be great. Thanks in advance. EDIT: Okay, I found out some of the stuff I was searching for. I have another question though, how do I "Add" new game settings? Let's say I want to create a chance for weapon jams dependant on the character's skill level, and not just the weapon's condition. How do I do that?
  8. I have no idea what tutorial to read, though.. Most of them are about modelling! I need. one related to stats.
  9. Okay.. Let's say a mod I'm using makes it so I don't gain HP every lvl up. How can I tweak the mod to change that? Where can I learn about what the different stats mean?
  10. Still don't understand how to tweak ESM files (related to character stats).. Can someone help? Or is GECK ONLY for modelling?
  11. Question! I'm more into the stat-changing/tweaking kind of mods. Lets say I want to edit some of my ESP rebalances- what am I supposed to do? I already have the NV GECK and Powerup version. I guess I should open that ESP there, but what next?
  12. Is the GECK offered at http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Bethsoft_Tutorial_GECK_Setup Also compatible for New Vegas?
  13. How can I combine scripts with existing game settings?
  14. Well, this is my first post of this sort, so here I go! 1. Pretty simple. The Mojave is a big place, and for people who want to explore without abusing the fast-travel system, I think there should be some caravans offering instant-travel for a certain fee. They'll be based in major places in the mojave, and offer rides to certain other towns. I know there were some similar mods in FO3, so why not bring them here, too? 2. Critical Miss- I think the Critical Miss feature from the first games was pretty cool, and could be applied here too. For example, if you happen to find a rocket launcher, you can fire it with no problems, just like a simple gun. I think Luck, Weapon Skill, and the appropriate SPECIAL stat should have lots more effect on it. Every weapon that you don't meet the requirements for has a higher chance of a Critical Miss, or weapon jams. Critical Miss examples: -Explosives: drop a live grenade to the floor when trying to throw it/throw it in an extremely awkward angle -Guns: LOTS more gun jams, and if the gun's condition is low enough it might explode and cause damage to the player. Also, it would all apply to enemies as well. And why not have the Jinxed trait? It could end up great! Anyway, I guess that's it. Do you think that kind of mod is possible to make in GECK?
