Hi!!! I'm trying to make a custom armor. I've the mesh done and when trying to import some original armor piece .nif file with skeleton for skinning, my 3ds max pops up a error window and close. See directory in the skeleton load part of the importing window is [HKLM\SOFTWARE\Bethesda Softworks\Skyrim]=@"Installed Path"Data\Meshes\actors\character\character assets\skeleton.nif, instead of something like E:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data\Meshes\actors\draugr\character assets\Skeleton.nif for example. I think it's due to a missed skeleton armor filed, but really don't know because it's my first custom armor. Someone knows the problem, has the skeleton file or any help? Thanks.

Correct, and with other options. In order to find the problem I imported an original .nif file, tried to export it without any changes and I get the same error. I've just try it with other file. I'm using werewolf model and i get the error, but with Draugr there is no problem. I assume the problem is with some original files but still want to know how to fix it, I want to use werewolf model. Edit: The problem seems to be with skeleton or skin of the original werewolf file. I imported my custom werewolf on a draurg original model and it allows to export, but I don't know if making this will make my model to move correctly.

Hello! First sorry for my English and second this is my first post, sorry if wrong site. I´m new on modding and I'm working with 3DS Max 2014. I'm following this tutorial (both parts) and when trying to export to .nif file I get an error "You have attempted to add a child to a NiNode which already is the child of another node". I've tryed to find a solution via google without succes. Can anyone help? Thanks.
