Turn hostile enemies into companions?
snackynak replied to a1994114a2011's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I don't normally have dogmeat as a companion, so I can't say for sure. But I think it'll be OK. Read this for more instructions: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1804/? -
Turn hostile enemies into companions?

A safer bet would be to use the "remove factions" console command first. I don't remember exactly what it is, maybe "removefromallfactions", but in the console type: "help remove 0" and it should pop up. So basically its should go like this: either find or spawn an assaultron dominator(for console commands type "help assaultron 0", use page up until you see "assaultron dominator" then type "player.placeatme xxxxx" xxx being whatever the id numbers that come up are.) Exit the console and one will spawn next to you, but it will probably be hostile, so once you turn and face it, hit the console key ~ and click on the npc with your mouse while in 1st person. then type "tai" in the console to disable the ai. Also keep in mind, when you enter "tai" to have the correct npc selected or it will disable ALL ai in the game. With the NPC selected in the console, then type the remove factions command, then enter "help player 0", scroll up until you find the id for the player faction. Then enter "addfac xxxx" xxxx being whatever the player faction id is. Then enter "tai" again and exit the console. If the npc still attacks you, go back into the console and and enter "tai" again. then enter "stopcombat" and "setrelationshiprank player 4". Once you get the npc to stop attacking you, go back into the console, select the npc and enter "setconsolescopequest followers" then enter "forcerefintoalias dogmeatcompanion", then enter "setplayerteammate 1". That should hopefully do it, assuming I got the exact phrasing of all the commands correct. edit: keep in mind that assaultrons are dangerous followers. Their death ray attack might incinerate you if you're not careful. -
Awhile back ago I remember seeing a mod that added a set of medieval-style brown monk robes, but now I can't seem to find it. If I remeber correctly, it was featured on the hot files scroll, but so far my searching as come up with nothing that really resembles it. Anyone know if this is an actual mod and what's called?

I had that problem too, and I wound up just using a different npc after using the console to kill and markfordelete the old one. Also, when i use the created nif file, the game crashes to desktop when loading from the main menu.

I could of sworn that someone already did a bat file, or script that covered most of this, like spawning a tent, bedroll, chest. Can't seem to find the thread that had it.

Would like to know if such a mod exists already

I don't think so, though I'm not 100%. -
msn files are the object-space normal maps, changing the colors of those is probably something you don't want to do. Maybe try copying the diffuse(files without the _msn or _s suffix) textures from the male and female folders, and pasting them into the darkelffemale or darkelfmale(or which ever elf race) folders. Then, edit the copied files and see if they override the ones from standard male and female folder. Keep in mind that if you change the hue or darkness of the base skin, then the race skin tone presets will increase that effect, or in the case of hue, combine to make an undesired color. Also keep in mind that I am not a modder, and everything I just said I pretty much made up so I have no idea if it actually works :psyduck:

Yes, open the console and type "tmm 1 1 1" or "tmm 1,1,1" not sure if you need the commas or not, but that'll show all locations on the map with fast travel as well. "tmm 1 0 0" or "tmm 1,0,0" will show all locations, but without fast travel

I'm not sure exactly, I haven't really tried it out yet. But from the screen shots it look like it can edit weapon values, and which model is used. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tes5Mod:SkyEdit http://images.uesp.net/thumb/8/8d/SkyEditv0.0.1a.png/800px-SkyEditv0.0.1a.png

I know there's a program out called "skyedit" that has limited editing functions(mostly weapons and spells), but I don't think it can edit races as of yet.

I think I've read about this somewhere, you might need to move into aela's house(if that's possible) and sleep in that bed for 1 night, then you can move into another house.

If there's one thing scarier than a werewolf... it's a wereshark.

Ah, I'll have to check that, I hope it's not a faulty card, the computer is brand new(from digital storm). But I'm thinking it's is more of a software problem, not hardware, because it doesn't really happen randomly or after a certain amount of game play time, but only in areas of the game that have little in-game lighting. I know this because if I equip my character with a torch, then the screen dimming doesn't happen. So far, torches have been my main work-around for this problem  I'm not sure, I haven't touched the nvidia control panel since I got the computer, and not after a did a clean install of the drivers(including the control panel) yesterday either, but that sounds possible.

Nah, I don't think it's that because the hud vanishes with the crosshairs. What I mean by screen goes black, is totally black, like the monitor is turned off. No light gradients or color gradients, nothing. It's like once the illumination on screen goes below a certain point, the monitor turns off. Only, the monitor is still on. Its kinda weird, and it also happens in Mass Effect 1-2 and Battlefield 3.

Not anymore! Not sure how's it's done exactly, but there's a pre-ck tool out called SkyEdit, which has limited capabilities. Also, there's a few video tutorials on how to import weapon meshes into skyrim, do a search in this forum and in the mod files section of skyrimnexus as well. Good Luck!

Just tried it, uninstalled all nvidia drivers, cleared out the folders, then re-installed using the "clean install" option, but no effect.

So I just got a new computer a couple of months ago and one thing that I've noticed is that when I get to a dark area(like a cave tunnel section with no lights, or a dark corner of a room) of all the games that I've played on it so far, the screen completely blacks out until I point the camera to a bright-enough light source. I did a little google search to see what it was, and the closest one I could find involved the screen staying black when entering certain interiors(but did not mention lighting), even when re-loading the game. The solution was to disable HDR rendering, which is something I don't really want to do if my problem is not related. Here's some of my specs: GeForce GTX 560 (285.62), win7 64bit

Certain npcs you can't marry, like wood elves or khajiit. It's a dialogue issue if I'm not mistaken, and can't be overridden by the console. Also, make sure that the npc you want is selected in the console(when the console is up, click on the npc). There's also another faction I've found, which I think might prohibit marriage (Id: 47a01), you might want to try "removefac 47a01" and see what that does.

Depends on the mod. If the mod is in an .esp file, then it goes into your Skyrim\data folder (found in the steam folder). Then when you start skyrim, click the "game data files" instead of "start" and make sure the mod is checked. If the mod is "meshes" and "textures" folders, then just place the folders in the skyrim data folder and run the game.

Actually, they can sneak. You need to add "setplayerteammate 1" in the console, and they'll sneak.
-
You probably need to use the console to add/remove which spells they have, using the "addspell" command, though I'm not sure if their is a "removespell" command or not. A list of spell ids can be found here. Also, depending on which follower you have, you may need to change the class, using the "setclass" command, and a list of those can be found here So for example, what you would do is hit the "f" key to get into first person. Then, get your follower in front of you and press the ` key. With the console up, click your follower with the mouse, you should see a series of numbers and letters appear. Then type in: addspell 00012fd0, which would give the selected npc firebolt. Then enter command: setclass 0001317a, which would make the npc a combat elemental mage. *edit* I know the havgraven use fireballs, try changing the class to that and see what happens, though be careful and save your game before hand because I'm not sure what bad might happen. *edit part 2* You can also give npcs shout abilities with the console, one of which is a fireball. I've done this and it works, however, it will inflict damage on you if you're in the blast radius

Which type of Bow would the Nexus like to see?
snackynak replied to Darksun45230's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Crossbows would definitely be awesome. As for the regular bows in the game I think I prefer adapting some of the more over-the-top looking items to look more real-life. Like the dwarven bow, which looks like it's just one solid piece of metal. A good change might be to give it a more mechanical look like a modern hunting bow. As for adding new bows, I say maybe add some that have a more eastern design to them, to give them a sort of foreign look, like they were brought to skyrim by migrants. Here's some examples: http://www.strele.lt/Portals/0/Nuotraukos/Straipsniu%20foto/image002.gif -
Ah, there is a release forum. But it's not under "skyrim modding", it's separate under "files". That's why I missed it, I don't normally go to the top of the forums. :psyduck:

Yeah, that makes sense. Especially once the CK comes out, there's going to be a flood of new posts. So what i think might work: 1.Modding, help -general modeling/texturing -CK tools help 2. Mods, WIP 3. Mods, complete(release announcements) 4. mod requests/suggestions

Assuming that the dunmer use their own set of textures, just edit the base textures(use a hue or color layer to change color, or a multiply layer to change the darkness). That would be the one way, another way would be to find out where the skin tone information is stored and edit that(could be a text file, with RGB numbers) Of course I've never modded skyrim, or any TES game so this is one big guess.
